I did better on tests when I did this, so it must work!;) (and I did take the GRE once - it's just another silly fill-in-the circle mind-bender test, where they give you questions to try and trip you up. Best advice I can give is to forget about everyone else; just try and do your personal best.)

Jesus Tracie, you listen to everything!:) Hmm.. I can't stop listening to U2 today - so many great tunes missed the charts!!

Well, I suppose one just has to love it, accept lots and lots of early mistakes, and keep practicing! Plus, build confidence, and understand a lot more than just the written sheet music. Understanding styles, how and why they make us feel the way we do, and try to compose quite a bit as well. And even Coldplay makes clinkers every now and then! Hey, I recall that The Beatles could hardly play or sing when they got started! So, really, it's just a matter of persistence and desire to improve, with the aim to be top notch some day. (and copy a lot.. er.. improve on existing works..):)

Any title Well, that could bee a matter of conjecture - the jury's still out.. Hmm!! But Emma, are your drapes open or closed??:) Well, anywhoo, and here I thought it was all about interior decorating:rolleyes: (depending on the lighting, of course!):P

mental gymnastics Good question! I think it's because the extension cords in our brains keep getting stretched a little farther to make those connections, and it's hard to get them into the right plugs.. Then the little elf that does the wiring has to keep running to a broom closet in the back of our minds to get another cord; sometimes tripping on the cords plugged in, and the lights blink blink a bit.. :)

The world is a chunk of raw iron on our collective forge to be heated red hot, hammered & tempered into a new & better form by our movements & by our aim. Forced air & fiery coals soften iron to a red plastic state; the lungs fuel the muscles as the bellows send searing jets of hot gasses streaming through incandescent coals on the long day's journey from form to form.

2007 was alright. Moving my ma from home to the nursing home has been a bummer, but not all is lost. She's getting excellent care, and isn't quite so lonely, so that's better for her. What did I do this year?? It all went so fast! Lots of dreaming, and some accomplishments - had a good vegetable garden; plenty of frozen veggies for the winter; Helped a couple of people in need; spent time pursuing some interests, like home energy systems for the future and following the mining issues.. ;volunteered for the Midwest Renewable Energy Fair in Custer, WI (largest in the world!); Successfully restored an early 19th or late 18th century tea table; and I finally committed myself to energy self-sufficiency (late, but in earnest). Oh, and I came up with another couple of tunes on our old piano, which some day I hope to get onto the computer (if I ever get the right equipment).

Fred Umm.. sorry to hear that. Well, at least it will soon be over (until next season)! Wish they hadn't moved the primaries all into Dec-Feb. Seems ridiculous - someone should correct this.

Nader Grader Hey Tracie, I'm a member of the GREEN party too!! I agree, Nader's got great ideas, but I feel that he could have struck a deal with Gore in 2000, and we'd all be a lot better off today.. 8 years of hell has ensued, so I wonder about Nader's wisdom in the political arena.. I think Nader should be appointed head of the Dept. of Transportation, or maybe the Consumer Products Safety Commission.

Better Art with Answer Keys Hmm.. I took a look at them on YouTube, and they seemed a little too sad to me. Am I off base about them? I get the deeper meanings and all, but maybe I'm looking for light at the end of the dark tunnel, and they're just showing the tunnel.. (I know this is what artists do - just wish there was more "solution" tied to the problems.) Went to an art showing at a gallery in Seattle a year+1/2 ago, and I came away feeling the same way - I wish they would offer some transition into solutions from the otherwise excellent portrayal of social & global problems.. :rolleyes:
