  1. boxcar contents Excuses, excuses!:P Sure, blame it on US! (Hmm.. and where is that Rupert fellow from, anyhow??:laugh3:) It's an international world, whether we like it or not.:dozey: Unfortunately in a way, crime is seem as exciting and voyeristic, so there's always been an appeal that way.. ..Well anyhow Rachel, care for any commodities?? I heisted several boxcars of flattened autos, and the metals market is booming!:P
  2. I did take a look-see at seabear - nice to reminisce to! Queen of the stone ages was primitive and intense, and Emily Simon's vid clip was awesome! And then 'Powerman 5000 - Nobody's Real' was a blast! One lost YES tune - To Be Over - was fantastic!! Leaning towards ambiance music.. Lastly, I jogged over to Midnight Oil - Beds are Burning.
  3. Gordon Lightfoot & KT Tunstall. (& nice quote from Zappa, Cirrus!)
  4. train contains Gee, now we know it's true what they say about Australians!:shocked2::laugh3::P Would you like to be put under hypnosis for a full confessional?? :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: Here, I would have to go down to the commodities market with the loot. Now, do I put the logs on the paper futures market, or do I go with the roofing granules??:laugh3: Corn has hit the roof, but that would be too corny..Hmm.. maybe I could sell the box cars for scrap? Iron's going up, last time I checked!;)
  5. Hello!! Do you surf along the Maylay peninsula?:)
  6. Back in the day, they were one great creative force in the universe..
  7. Perhaps so - and then become President. He would be an improvement over the current occupant! I would still prefer one of the less influenced candidates, who really stand for more substantive issues, so there's still time - anything can happen.
  8. Larry, you're back!! Long time, no see! Glad you're here!! :hat:
  9. KT Tunstall - Suddenly I see
  10. God only knows what they've come up with! I do suspect they went back to YES's works - & hinting at a song name (YES!), and knowing their wavelength of thought, I would almost put odds on it.;)
  11. The Next Poster has warts!:P
  12. It will sound like a herd of camels running through a culvert during a thunderstorm.:laugh3: I'm betting they took some sound ideas from YES.. just a guess tho.. (and I passed up working with Eno for this?) Their videos look to be art school works of a high order, so I would imagine they will continue in the tradition of kitschy stuff, as they have before..:) LOL getting more details!!;)
  13. Well, no such luck on the clip. It's -12C/22F here, with about a foot and a half of snow on the ground. I had to put the old allis in the shed to warm it up and thaw out the gas line.. But plowing is a blast! Anyhow, are there lots of wallabies/roos, and exotic vegetation??:hat:
  14. Yes, some young fellow - overjoyed to be here (I suppose this looks exotic coming from somewhere else...:P) - he was on the In Wisconsin program on PBS.. Might be able to pick up the program over the net.. I'll check on it. He was funny - apparently, he and a group of friends came over without even tickets for the game - probably bought some from scalpers across the street from the stadium in Howard.. Well, I'll go see if I can dig up a clip.:)
  15. Yes that does sound heavenly!!:sunny: So, you're in the outback then?? Hmm - that sounds interesting!! We used to be in the equivalent here (until the sprawl arrived:() Well, it's still kinda rural - a bizarre mix, if ever there was one!! Anyhow, keep cool - I'll gladly send you some nice cold snow, if you like??:laugh3: (PS - what is your name again??)
  16. Hey Emma-Beatrice! Some of your countrymen were on the tube tonight - they came all the way from your touch-the-sun & fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk country to play in the snow and see a Packer game!:laugh3: (I'd trade places with you in a heartbeat - it's frickin' c-c-ccold here!) Anyhow, I just thought I'd share that with you..;)
  17. I watched the Moyer's show tonight - he had Dennis Kucinich on, and I really like Dennis's honesty and candor. I tend to agree with Moyers - John Edwards is more progressive than Obama, but Kucinich has been putting his support behind Obama. When pressed for an answer, Kucinich said something, but it was lost on me. Hmm.. Maybe Obama promised him to better represent the Public this time, and not the moneyed bankers on Wall Street? I sure hope so! I still believe in the inverse funds theory - the more they take from Corporate America, the less they will represent us!
  18. Ron will surprise despite FAUX Ron Paul had been treated very rudely by FOX. But this is not lost on the American people - I think there's a decided backlash against the slash-and-burn media common to FOX, and their unfair form of infotainment. I see a lot of Paul supporters (including some cousins), and they are a very loyal and vocal group, with a clear message about how our rights have been trampled on - and given NewHampshire's independent spirit, I think he will gain surprising ground there. I believe the voters are in general disgusted with our Congress and the President, so the anti-establishment candidates are going to have an impact! Money is, unfortunately, a big part of the results - but this should be turning people away from those who take the legal bribes the most - at least I think it will. And there's a surprise in the number of young voter - so that's a good sign!!
  19. Like sand through the hour glass.. ambient krautrock!! YEA!!:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: (they do like to surprise us, so who knows??!)
  20. I've always wanted to ask this (please forgive me - I can't help myself) - Do you cook a lot of chili in Chile?:) (good gosh, I'm getting hungry!! I had better go make some macaroni to go with the above..):P
  21. Hello Tracie!!:) I Enjoyed the sun today too!!:sunny::joker: Have a great Friday up in the Canadian Frontier!
  22. I was waxing philosophically about the structures of trees; how they are really colonies of cells on a backbone of wood. And how much of life is built upon non-living structural materials, like coral on reefs, and chordates having bony structure, etc. We're colonies as well. And strings in the universe. What allowed us to exist in the first place? Seems like greater numbers of states for things to exist in - the very entropy driving the universe, allowed for the possibility of life and all the complexity we see. Anotherwords, why is the universe messy enough for life and planets and such, yet organized enough to work within the framework of the laws of physics?
  23. the university world Hmm.. College is a study & then party atmosphere. You'll have to readjust to being like a kid again!!:laugh3: I think it's easy to make friends - just be open to new people; remember to have fun on occasion; and everyone's in the same boat pretty much (unless you're wealthy).. Just relax, and it'll all be fine..
  24. :laugh3:I guess that settles it, then! So, Paul and Ringo will have to do a duet?:P I think I would be OK with Dhani and Sean joining in - they are, in some ways, like their parents, so many of the same personal qualities would be there.. Yea, I love their music and their movies and such as well - it's a beautiful window into the past, and their music is timeless..;)
