  1. Someone tell me - I've looked at the Yes - Wonderous Stories video posted on You-Tube by orestes988, and about 2/3 of the way through Trevor Rabin plays a lute solo (least I think it's a lute!!). (+ he switches instruments along the line). If you give it a listen, you'll hear the source - I just couldn't quite get this part right (it's quite deceptive in its complexity). Still, it sounds a bit like they dubbed a keyboard part over the top of it as well. Does a lute really have that mellow a resonant tone if played a certain way??
  2. If it really matters all that much, Clocks was the result of some errors I made while playing a keyboard set up in a music store in the Mall of America - pre-Christmas 1999 or 2000. I was trying to play a piece of YES's Wonderous Stories - 2/3 through - the lute solo. Couldn't get the right chord, so I kept travelling down in a series of chord progressions; which, when you added the synthesized components available, sounded pretty neat! Anyhow, Chris made up the lyrics on the spot, and then decided to go ahead with the tune. Maybe we should go back to YES's members, and ask them where they got the lute part from?:laugh3: I mean, most music today is just variations on something older anyhow.. BTW - did Peter invent the wheel, and therefore deserves patent rights as well?
  3. & Nice notes to them all, Pallavi:):daisy: Hmm.. Best Album in the Whole World, like Ever? Well, I really like the album Soundtrack to the Movie - The Sound of Music:) (can never get enough of Julie Andrews), but comparing these things is like comparing apples and tree frogs:)! Sure, there's cells and DNA, and they share similarities, but both are beautiful! Best Album - I would vote for them all.
  4. Banks make big notes to pass to one another.. one could exist! (usually these are special notes, tho..);)
  5. Well, I suppose that and more! I did that with US currency once, and faced 6 years in fed. prison! Fortunately, the state kept trying me on forgery charges (our bank notes are "signed" by various bigwhigs) - spun their wheels on it, and spared me the electric chair! Laws in Great Britain might be different, but since our system's oldest institutions were at one time English, we may have similar laws as yours regarding currency. Well, you could try it, and see what happens!:laugh3: (could be exciting!) EU currency is now preferred??
  6. Well, in a way, that could be considered as a compliment! ...I'm a deep thinking person, but I'm afraid to wear my heart on a sleeve.:)
  7. Hmm! From scanning tunneling electron microscopes to tunneling magneto-resistance heads - sounds like a logical leap to make. I used to like the images we first saw of various enzymes using the scanning tunneling electron microscope - really amazing to actually "look" at enzymes on the atomic scale! I wonder somewhat about the robustness of these newer technologies though.. It takes less and and less to damage the media as well; still backups could save the day, as they have always done.. Just how do they read the resistance? Hmm.. I had better check it out.:) Thanks Ian!
  8. I'm just trying to imagine the playlist being played.. First Whole Lotta Love; then Clocks; then Riders on the Storm.:laugh3: That would be amusing! Loretin, I'm with you - Parachutes should have made it too!! Maybe it will eventually.;) I just think songs are like flowers - they're all beautiful, and trying to rank them is such nonsense. Enjoy each one for it's own unique beauty in the landscape of life.:daisy:
  9. Simplify, simplify..
  10. ^ Nannyberries. <Varnishing furniture - a commode. V Buttons or Zippers?
  11. TLTIYM Gotta love it - Only in Texas!:laugh3: An apple from a wild tree.
  12. Work with me here - frisbees fly pretty well, and if you could just get the right propulsion system put into the thing, it could work! I thought about jet propulsion - turbine blades mounted on concentric rings near the outer perimeter of the craft providing lift while in the atmosphere.. Tho that might provide stability challenges. engines could be placed neatly beneath the craft, and the upper spinning surface used as a lift wing of sorts.. Some recollection of a news story years back - a competition in Russia to get flying saucer models to lift off the ground I do recall, but none were successful then. Still, if the physics makes sense, one should be able to get the device to work.. Give me some positive feedback here!
  13. Why so many groups have negative- connotation names? I think I liked "Starfish" or even "Super-Poofs" better than 'Coldplay' as a name. Why did they settle on 'Coldplay' after all??
  14. If you fly them during the day, the moon roof option becomes a sun roof, so there is at least some solar light and heat..;) I think they could operate well on biofuels.. It take a lot of energy for interstellar travel - if you don't mind nuclear fuel, which, pound for pound provides the best energy density - tho you need some sort of permits to buy it. Hmmm... I suppose, if we made the surface large enough, solar might work - I'll look into that.;)
  15. In addition to all these great features, we've added an optional moon roof, and the landing lights are now full - spectrum!!!!!:bulb:
  16. Not at the moment, tho I have a pair of spectacles..:glasses::smart: The Next Postermeister likes fish.
  17. more!!!!! Better hovering and wind stabilizers come as standard features, and the delux models come with see-thru floors! Come check out our new models in the showdeck today!:)
  18. The new flying saucers are here for 2008! Offering a smoother ride, more comfortable seating, and an even greater lift capacity for those exta-heavy payloads!! Plus, in addition to the standard grey, silver, and ultraviolet, the new models are available in a wide array of exciting new colors - fiery red-orange, cool mint green, and deep sky blue. -more to come~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!
  19. Do chickens count as vegtables?:pleased: I figure anything as dumb as a turnip = food.:P
