  1. Watch out for Pinot Grigio! It was goood going down, but not so good coming up!:) (but maybe less than half the bottle would be OK..) Hmm.. I'm thinking how nice is the smell of orange peels when you put them in a pot of boiling water on the wood stove..
  2. One of my neighbors has gone hog-wild on the inflatable yard-ornament :hat:cartoon characters. They've got Tweety and Sylvester and Homer and Rudolf and SpongeBob and Crusty and all these fans running to keep them inflated.. Is this pretty common nowadays?

Suicide is painless (was the opening theme music to the M*A*S*H TV series..)
  4. Please, no Limburger:confused:. It's sweatsock cheese!:laugh3: (Well, my Grandpa would have voted for it.. that and ebenthaller (sp?) ugh - those old German farmers had some bizarre tastes!) Hey, where's the Swiss?? I like really good Swiss!! And Asiago! Edam and Gouda are delicious too!.. Then there's cottage cheese, and brick, and Colby, and pepper jack, and muenster, and cream cheese, and Havarti, and longhorn cheddar, and Parmesan, and let's not forget string cheese!! And Ricotta, and farmer cheese, and provolone, and ... (I'm from a very cheesy place - can't help it!):P
  5. Are there pervs in Canada?? I was under the impression that everyone above us were somehow pure and clean, like the snow! Maybe he's the only one ?:P
  6. I'm just wondering - it's summer down yonder I hear! Not conducive towards reindeer, and not the right vegetation to munch on. :) Hmm.. maybe beer is appropriate then.. OK - A 4WD Range Rover and khaki shorts. or kinky shorts. well, something like that. well it certainly fits the times! That's got to be unusual - well to me, it would seem unusual - Christmas in the middle of summer. I'm trying to grasp that.. Like the 4th of July celebration, only with gifts, and a tree and all? What's it like?? Do you air-condition the house so it seems cold like winter?? Put ice around the yard? Curious in Winter Wonderland..
  7. Wow, and here it's only 6:30 at night - if you hop on a plane, you could catch an extra hour or two!! Hmm.. beer out instead of milk? Now that's interesting! No wonder the sleigh whips around so much!! But beer and cookies?? Gee, I can see maybe beer and peanuts; or beer and pretzels.. Does santa come with a sleigh in Australia, or some sort of wallaby-propelled train car??:laugh3: (never mind me - I'm just goofy tonight..)
  8. Well, at least the tree's base looks full. And all those poor orphans need presents too!!;)
  9. Hmm! So, what time is it in your part of Australia? Hey, it's good to get presents!! Santa or no Santa!:)
  10. Well, you know - they're hard to miss when you live alone!! I suppose I could go hide them ,pretend I'm santa, and go retrieve them.. Better to give than to receive when you're our age anyhow:santa2::santa2::santa2::santa3::elf::elf::thumbsup:.
  11. Hi Tracie! Well, I think FEMA was working well & with reasonable efficiency before Bush's banditos stole the White House, and they may have underfunded FEMA intentionally to make it fail. (But they spared no time in giving the "have mores" oddles in gargantuan tax breaks). Gads, Bush had Ken Lay as a key contributor - nothing could be worse than this Admin.! They're making Nixon look like a saint! Hmm.. If I had a gun to my head, and I had to pick the "best of the worst" - like, what will no doubt happen given the freezer-loads of cold cash.. Hmm.. I would hope to be able to pick Edwards or Barack.. If Hillary get the primary nom., I think I will vote for Hillary; but only if the race is close. If it's not close, to heck with her - I'm voting for Kucinich or Ron Paul, as I might as well. If the more honest ones get more votes than expected in the end, then the next cycle, that voting block will have power! BTW - who would you vote for in the General?
  12. And you could be correct, but I need to do some more research! I find that, looking at the money trail, Kucinich looks reasonably free of undue influence, and outside of Hillary (who took the money and voted for bills based on the campaign cash's influence, as I see it), they get a lot from Unions (broad bases of support & in favor of better working conditions and wages for the majority of citizens), and some from law firms. The money from investment firms troubles me, as it shows influence from a wall-street of over-inflated markets and property scams hurting the average citizen. Buying influence today means preventing necessary oversight - without which the referee cannot police the game properly, and we all suffer as a result.
  13. Ron Paul appears to want to do away with many of the Government agencies we need to have as safety-nets for disasters - one example would be Katrina and New Orleans. A hobbled (underfunded) FEMA headed by inept apointees from Bush could not act effectively in aiding victims after the disaster. If that's what Ron Paul wants to eliminate, I will not be casting my vote for him. And, the neo-cons were in the Nixon and Ford administrations when Ray McGovern was a high-ranking intermediary between the CIA and the White House. At the time, he said they were laughed at as "the crazies" for their illogical and rash thinking. The neo-cons were in the Nixon, Ford, and Regan administrations while Ray was there. Perhaps you're thinking of Wolfowitz, who started out as a somewhat "liberal" person, and after speaking with MacBeth's wife (Podherts), had an unfortunate conversion to the "Dark Side," and talked the admin. into a war in Iraq. So, looking at the money in earnest, while Ron Paul might be funded by small contributions of numerous quantities (though I have yet to look), the non-leading candidates on the Democratic Party side take much less, and much less lop-sided funds. Plus, Edwards took matching funds.
  14. What was the Beatles fourth album like? Well, for me, I think most of their songs are great - depending on the mood I'm in.. Since we're living life inside a bubble, can anyone fly this thing better than Coldplay? Eno will certainly offer new directions, but they've already got a pretty good formula. Anyhow, maybe they need more of a Canadian influence??:laugh3: (One nation, under the polar ice cap, indescribable, with labatts and maple syrup for all..!)
  15. Both parties have their fair share of corruption, but the neo-cons (maybe one could just shorten it to cons) are definitely in the Republican camp. And most of the Jack Abramoff mafia-style corruption sits squarely within their camp as well. I like Ron Paul because he stands up for the US Constitution, even though the document has been so shredded in recent years.. But my vote goes to John Edwards or Dennis Kucinich! End the corruption by ending the political race kickback scheme!
  16. Well, anyhow, our carpets are white for the most part, except for the rag-rug in the kitchen... and the drapes are kind-of an off white (eggshell).. If I were to shave the rug, wouldn't that damage it a bit?? I am just so confuzzed!!:laugh3: Now if we we're talking about something else... I think natural is fine - although, shaving does look nice too.. heck, I can't decide!
  17. YEA!! , Madison's getting some good entertainment!! Hmmm.. "Fake Empire" - I wonder what that could be about..
  18. M.I.A.?? I can't stop listening to foo fighters - goddam this dusty room; this hazy afternoon; maybe I can share it with you.. And Elton John's Saturday Night as well..
  19. Yea, Bowie's neat! I'm hooked on Dreamweaver by Gary Wright lately; and Foo Fighters. Porcupine Tree sounds Canadian!:)
  20. The sound of oak burning - a hissing sound with licking flames (bass) in the wood stove.. Who is Loreena McKennit??:)
  21. OK - strange then! Sorry for using the "W" word!:laugh3: & I like that Doors song - "people are stange, when you're a stranger.." It's kinda on that wavelength too.. Hmmm.. - creative might be a better word for it. Thom is very creative! He's channeling the psychic energy of 10,000 tarsairs, as they hunt for beetles and mothes in the night.:elf: And so Coldplay keeps their pop songs to 5 minutes, so how do they rate then?:laugh3:
  22. Hi Anna! Well, I first heard Radiohead back in the late 80's - art majors were big into them, and I had a few friends at the art school. Anyhow, to me, it's more of a "try and figure out what the heck they're really getting at here" sort of thing - and they do a great job of tapping the subconscious realm. But, if I want to listen, I usually like music that's a little more up-tempo. We all like different things - else it would be one blah world, eh?!;) Nite-nite!:)
  23. What's inn a name.. Well, it's just a term. I like being weird sometimes.. :wacky: It's state-of-mind anyhow; maybe like playing a part in a play.. But, to me Radiohead is more philosophical than musical.. Kindof that reflective mode we all sometimes are in, but rarely gets expressed in a musical form.. I like the Karma police video - did this come out before the Gulf war?
