How has your view of MX changed?
The first half of the album is pure magic, but on the second side I really only listen to DLIBYH, Up in Flames and Up with the Birds. The little instrumentals really add to the songs for me, especially on ETIAW.

Official Mylo Xyloto lyrics (from Coldplay.com)
I think come bursting through concrete sounds perfect. Chris with his accent doesn't say much of the R, but I like this lyric. Now some of the others...not so much.

Official Mylo Xyloto lyrics (from Coldplay.com)
There are still some clear parts where these lyrics simply are not correct. For example...Chris says "be a cartoon heart" in Charlie Brown, yet on here it says "and a Cartoon heart." You can't convince me that he says "and" and not "be".

Lyrics?!
I bet it is Will. Sometimes he can sound....uh...womanly....in a good way lol.

Now that MX is officially out...
I am not sure, maybe just a slight increase in quality? Who knows, all I know is that I can hear what he is saying clearly now, which is awesome.

Now that MX is officially out...
Honestly I feel like I hear Chris way better on DLIBYH than any of the leaked versions. It used to piss me off that I couldn't quite hear him, now it's fine.

UWTB=DAAOHF
That is what completely won me over. I saw that tour when I was a semi Coldplay fan. They also used tomorrow never knows as the intro song.

UWTB=DAAOHF
I get the same vibe as I do from this song [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdRgdiSizFE]The Beatles-Good Night - YouTube[/ame]

Favorite little moments on Mylo Xyloto?
MX- I love the last 8 seconds or so. I think the little sound effects basically gear me up for the whole album. HLH- I love Jonnys part on the first ooooooh, it really gives me the image of the running man and I think it takes off beautifully. Paradise- The violin riff that sounds just like wedding bells is awesome. Charlie Brown- The new violins that kick in at the end, right before he sings..."so we saaaaawww." UATW- The chord changes on the organ are just gorgeous. MMIX/ETIAW- Awesome bass moments from Guy, very powerful stuff. Up in flames- Jonny's riffs near the end. Remind me of some of his older riffs and I really dig them.

First Impressions of Mylo Xyloto (and vote in the 1-10 sliding scale poll!)
Up in Flames is devastating in its simplicity, that is why it is so good. You can feel the emotion of someone realizing their love is "Up in Flames" and that all they can think about is that fact. Any more explication would be forced (Think "slow dancing in a burning room" by John Meyer).

Song rollout effecting enjoyment?
That is what I have been saying. People have these preconceived notions of what songs should sound like based on their live counterparts. But they don't always sound the same live as on the record. For example, the live version of Speed of Sound and White Shadows are dreadful, but the studio versions are amazing. Another example of a song that gains a ton of life live is In My Place...if people heard that live first, they probably didn't like the studio version as much. Give the album time and I am sure people will realize how good the studio versions of theses songs are. HLH is amazing on this album. It is like an Arcade Fire song on steroids to me.

I WOULD LOVE LOVE LOVE the japanese version!!!

Rate CHARLIE BROWN studio version
The best new addition to the song are the violins that come in right before the end when Chris is coming in with "So weeee saaaaawwww" it adds this awesome little layer.

THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION OF MYLO XYLOTO?
I can hear chris fine on my version...?

Is the money and fame getting to Chris Martin's songwriting abilities??
Dude read their articles. This IS the album that THEY wanted to make. This is what they like listening to. The boys have changed. They aren't so sulky anymore and their music shows it.

huh... wow...
^^ couldn't disagree more.

Live vs. Studio
The only track which I like way better live truly is MM. And that is only because the made jonnys cool riff quiet and nonexistent on the first go through.
-
What do you think of the HLH studio version?
This song is amazing on the album. One of the best coldplay tunes ever IMO.
-
Live vs. Studio
The verses are just double tracked, must like Jon Lennon used to do, the only "electro chris" is in the backing.
-
Live vs. Studio
Yep exactly. HLH is freaking awesome on the album. In time, you will realize how cool some of the songs we heard live are on the record. And if you don't like them, then listen to the like 15 high quality live tracks.

Live vs. Studio
Most of the people on here are saying they think the studio versions are too produced/etc. Many are saying they prefer the live versions. Well that makes sense, because you have been listening to the live versions for what, 4 months now? You have created an emotional tie to the live versions. But the studio versions all existed first; the live versions are just operationalizations of the studio tracks. If you had heard the studios first, this conversation would not even exist. All I am saying, is don't let your ties to the live versions ruin what are some really cool studio versions (HLH comes to mind). The awesome thing? Nobody can take the live versions away from you, so what does it matter?
