Gwyneth...
It says this Septmeber on PBS. Here in Chicago that is channel 11. http://www.spainontheroadagain.com/ I know, the first time I saw her speak spanish I was impressed. Her accent is great. I had more respect for her after that. I thought it was cool that she liked the Spanish culture so much. She probably studied abroad.

Coldplay are in the Lounge!!!
Hahaha...yah I bet they have had to be here at least once in their lifetime...if not the lounge then at least the other forums :) Ian should get them to come over here and have an interview on one of the threads! That would be a fun day! Great marketing! C'mon, you know they want to!

X&Y
Oh...the other thing I remember. During the live shows for AROBTTH, they were playing new songs like, "One I Love" & "Moses." The sound was different and more upbeat. But, I was digging their new songs. I thought these songs or these types of songs would be on the X&Y album. So I was caught off guard when it sounded totally different. Some of my favorites on X&Y are... Speed of Sound, A Message, The Hardest Part, and Swallowed By the Sea. I did like Fix You at first, because of its lyrics and sentiment...helped me through tough times too... but after time it just started sounding more depressing for some reason. I also didn't understand how it caught on so fast...out of all of the songs in the album it was quite different. Chris falsetto is really intense for me at times in this song...and I love his falsetto most of the time. Maybe for me, it was overused? I love his voice btw. X&Y- no comment...let's just say, it has grown on me...kind of :)

X&Y
Lots of my thoughts exactly...I also worry about the marketing...I actually don't mind the costumes, but it does make me laugh the comment about the gymnastics. I don't hate the X&Y album and their are many good songs on it- I personally preferred the Y songs, but the X songs sounded good live-which is what they probably had in mind (do I agree with this tactic, I don't know...) I agree with the post when they said, "it sounds like they tried a bit too hard, like they were trying to get bigger as well as better, like their image was just as important as the music." That is exactly what I felt. They were marketing themselves more and the music was left a little behind. They also were trying very hard to make a "great" album. I think they should just do what they do best, and that is make good music from the heart...not by any particular standards. It is good to read what others thought, after the album has been out for a while.

New pic of the Band!
Guy does really look good in with short hair. I prefer him that way. They all look good. It's a great picture.

Chance of Coldplay Playing Lolla

Coldplay =/= U2
I don't want them to be U2, nor do I think they sound like U2. I don't think they want to be exactly like U2. I just think that they want to be as big as U2 and maybe as popular. I just don't always like hearing when they say they want to make albums that sound good in a stadium. I actually do like U2. They have their own particular sound and do their own thing. They sound great live btw! But, I would never want Coldplay to aspire to be just like them though, because that would take away from their own unique style that they have already created and what I came to like of them in the first place. And yes, "Coldplay should just aspire to be a better Coldplay." Or for me, better yet, just themselves. I don't think they should put all this pressure on themselves when they make their music.

Interview on WXRT (Chicago)- Frank E. Lee Interviews Chris Martin & Jonny Buckland
Oh, I do not miss the winter! Nor do I think most people miss it either. Although today, it is feeling like winter again! :) When Chris said, the winter is something else. I think he meant "something else!" :) Actually I didn't mind the winter too much this year, but it was one of our longest and most snowiest in a while. But, I do want summer to come now!

What Coldplay Songs Make You Nostalgic?
Same with me...this is the first song I ever heard of them and it reminds me about when I first ever got into them...that and Don't Panic. When I first heard Yellow and Chris' voice...that is what pulled me into their music. I loved the tone in his voice and their different sound compared to all that was playing at the time. I also remember hearing it riding in the car and enjoying the melody and the mood.
