  1. Square One Outro I've got the chords if you're looking for them! :) (they're arranged for guitar, but if you know the notes that make up the chords, then you can transfer them onto piano.) Actually I've put the notes on the side of each chord to try and help ;) (SORRY I WROTE SOOOOO MUCH!) "SQUARE ONE" OUTRO Ab e- 4 = Ab B- 4 = Eb G- 5 = C D- 6 = Ab A- 6 = Eb E- 4 = Ab Fm e- 1 = F B- 1 = C G- 1 = Ab D- 3 = F A- 3 = C E- 1 = F Cm e- 8 = C B- 8 = G G- 8 = Eb D- 10 = C A- 10 = G E- 8 = C Bb e- 6 = Bb B- 6 = F G- 7 = D D- 8 = Bb A- 8 = F E- 6 = Bb This is the order = Ab Is there anybody out there who, is Fm lost and hurt and lonely too? Are they Cm bleeding all your colours into Bb one? And if you've come undone Ab As if you been run through, some Fm catapult, it fired you. You Cm wonder if your chance will ever Bb come. Or if you're stuck in square Ab one.... By the way, in case you're just looking for the cool little riff (I absolutely love it!) it's = NOTES (High Octive) Bb, Bb, Eb, Eb, Eb, (lower octive)> Bb, Bb, A, Bb, C (lower octive)> D OR (guitar tab that you can translate onto piano... if ^ that is too confusing) = e--18--18---------------------------------------------------------- B------------15--15--------15------------------------------------- G--------------------------------------15--15--14--15--17------- D----------------------------------------------------------------12-- A--------------------------------------------------------------------- E--------------------------------------------------------------------- (Sorry, I can't really put it into musical staff notation... I don't have software or anything that does it.... hope this helps anyway )

Handedness Cool! I was wondering when someone was going to ask this question. :D (I have an obsession with the idea of handedness for some odd reason) Anywho, did you know that half of Coldplay are left-handed and half are right-handed!? :stunned: (Chris & Guy = Left-handed / Jonny & Will = Right-handed) By the way, I am actually ambidextrous. . . The Brain sure is fascinating!
  3. The "Prospekt" Question Well, "Prospekt" sounds more like a roadie/band-friend's nickname or something around those lines.... and on the Coldplayer there used to be a nice roadie who was always writing entries about concerts and events while on tour. I'd say that it probably is not the name for a new album.... but who knows, Coldplay are a cleverly mysterious bunch :D ???? (Although, it is a cool name, and is spelled with a "k" just like "Politik"!)

^^^^ hey Corey07 I went to your link to your cover of "Clocks". That was really awesome!!!! Loved the visuals so much! Hehehe, the clock (obviously) and especially the Green laser and water bottle...classic :)

Coldplay's Lyrics ^^^^ hahaha, I do the same thing! Listening to Coldplay while relaxing, or before going to sleep, gives you an effective listen. The little detailed riffs of Jonny's guitar, the tinklings of Chris' piano, the thumping beats of Will's drums, and the undulating rhythm of Guy's bass are much more prominent when listening to them intently in one's room. Anyway, the lyrics.... I remember watching Chris in an interview about the band's music. The interviewer asked him where he got the ideas for his lyrics from and Chris replied that some were of past experiences, daily experiences, and oblique things. For example: Chris said that "Green Eyes" was written about a girl he met at a Dave Matthews Band concert who helped him out when he was being an idiot. However, he then said that it could also be about guitarist Jonny! :D (since he has green eyes) In another interview I saw, Chris revealed that the lyrics for "The Scientist" were pretty much random expressions that rhymed (even if many didn't make much sense :laugh3: ) But, apparently Chris feels like he needs to write better lyrics (see link) = http://www.nme.com/news/coldplay/21336 So basically, Coldplay's lyrics do reflect their lives but can also be abstract.
  6. Telecaster ^^^^ Oh well.... At least you tried it out. hehehe. I guess you're a "Strat" rat eh? :D
  7. COLDPLAY.com ^^^^ Exactly nevaehdreamz! I'm glad to see the band showing more love for us fans who are continuing to support them through the thick and thin. :) hehehehe.... I'm still reading the comments they've made... pretty funny! (like what Loretin quoted that was written about the Hardest Part....) :D
  8. COLDPLAY.COM NEW STUFF ^^^^ I think it's amazing (and sweet) what they've done with the site so far! :) It's really is great to see a timeline of the band and how far they've really come, as well as new pics. Go COLDPLAY!!!!
  9. Chris' French ^^^^ hehehe.... He may have had the help of a teleprompter...:D But yeah, he would need to have practised pronouncing the words before-hand.
  10. ^^^^ You're probably right. Seemed a little planned. Hey, by the way, I like your link to the "Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen" site. It has very wise advice for life. :)
  11. Lucky GOODNESS! Could you honestly get any luckier?! :shocked2: Man, I wouldn't mind trading places with her. Being with Coldplay would be so sweet on so many levels. Of course, Chris has to find a way to embarass Jonny.... poor Jonny :laugh3: ( I wonder if that girl was even a BIG Coldplay fan because she just seemed to smile at the attention from the audience more than the band. Although, she was nominated as "Crowd Member of the Year", so I guess that works. )
  12. Talk Sheet Music Here it is: I had to type it up on Microsoft Word (that's why there's random green lines), but it's the best I could do.... sorry Page 1: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k197/ColdplayBirds/Talk1.jpg Page 2: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k197/ColdplayBirds/Talk2.jpg Page 3: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k197/ColdplayBirds/Talk3t.jpg Page 4: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k197/ColdplayBirds/Talk4.jpg Page 5: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k197/ColdplayBirds/Talk5.jpg Page 6: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k197/ColdplayBirds/Talk6.jpg Page 7: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k197/ColdplayBirds/Talk7.jpg Page 8: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k197/ColdplayBirds/Talk8.jpg Page 9: http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k197/ColdplayBirds/Talk9.jpg Hopefully, that helps you with your assignment! ;)
  13. ^^^^ I do! I have it for "Talk" :) May take a little while to tab it and stuff, but "don't panic". ;) (By the way, I'm just curious. What is this "massive assignment"?)
  14. Don't Panic Chords ^^^^ You're Very Welcome palname & crestingwaves! I love the intro too. Leave it to Coldplay to always add a little extra spice in their songs. ;)
  15. Don't Panic Live Chords Oh! :) I figured this out awhile ago from watching another performance. I remember staying up late to decipher the chords being used.... :dozey: Owww man, there used to be a link for that other performance which shows Chris strumming, but it's not there anymore. :\ Anyway, the chords at the beginning are = Dmadd11 e- 0 B- 6 G- 7 D- 7 A- 5 E- x Am e- 5 B- 5 G- 5 D- 7 A- 7 E- 5 And then.... G e- 3 B- 3 G- 4 D- 5 A- 5 E- 3 F e- 1 B- 1 G- 2 D- 3 A- 3 E- 1 Fmaj7 e- x B- 1 G- 0 D- 3 A- 3 E- 1 So basically the order is: Dmadd11, Am Dmadd11, Am Dmadd11, Am Dmadd11, Am Dmadd11, Am, G <<<< (Jonny's riff comes in) Dmadd11, Am, G Dmadd11, Am, G, F, Fmaj7, F, Fmaj7, F, Fmaj7, F, Fmaj7, F .... ~* Hopefully that helps and isn't too confusing....*~
  16. White Shadows chords Hey robclifton, welcome! You were on the original Coldplay.com forum weren't you.... me too! :) Anyway, I have the ending chords for "White Shadows". They're in guitar tabulature, but if you know them or can transfer them onto piano, then you're all set. G#m e-0 B-0 G-4 D-6 A-6 E-4 Emaj7 e-0 B-0 G-1 D-1 A-2 E-0 B e-0 B-0 G-8 D-9 A-9 E-7 D#m e-0 B-7 G-8 D-8 A-6 E-x Hope that helps.
  17. Hope it helps! :)
  18. Telecaster Thinline year '72 ^^^^ Ohhh.... I know. It's hard not to biased since we are Coldplay fans. However, I did manage to try one out at a guitar store! It was really nice. Being a girl, I liked the smaller neck radius (since I'm genetically stuck with somewhat smaller hands than most guys  ) Anyway, the Telecaster Thinline had a nice ring to it and could go from silky/blues tones to meatier/rock tones because of the double humbuckers and semi-hollow F-hole. I liked it, but could not purchase it yet, evidently due to shortage of money, as the guitar is around the $500 range.... It's something to look forward to getting in the future though ;) But, yeah, you should definitely try any instrument out before you buy it! I hope you like it. It seems like a really versatile guitar. :singer: :guitarist: :drummer: ~* Rock On! *~
  19. White Shadows/Talk Synth ^^^^ That's not that bad of an idea! Anyway, I know what you mean by the synth parts now Mig-El. Thanks for clarifying that! :) Ummm.... if you want the ending chords for the song for guitar. I got them here from my Coldplay: X&Y Guitar Tabulature Book = White Shadows (beginning & ending chords with synth sound) G#m e-0 B-0 G-4 D-6 A-6 E-4 Emaj7 e-0 B-0 G-1 D-1 A-2 E-0 B e-0 B-0 G-8 D-9 A-9 E-7 D#m e-0 B-7 G-8 D-8 A-6 E-x Of course, this is for the synth like Mig-El said. (and it's "white shadows" uhh...... oops... not "talk" or "square one" like you asked for...oh well) I guess for the synthy sound you need .... well a synthesizer keyboard. (don't know what kind they have, thought it's probably quite expensive) :)
  20. CP Moment ^^^^ Awesome. That happens to me too! My friends or parents will tell other people that I'm having one of my regular "Coldplay Moments" :D Just Love it when you stop talking or have to shush someone because you really think that you hear a Coldplay song. hehehe .... We aren't crazy! :rolleyes2: ~*Somewhere a Coldplay song is playing....*~
  21. Jonny's Guitar Effects - Square 1 & White Shadows This site gives his pedals (which create that cool echoey effect) Check out the setlists too. They have the little names of the pedals Jonny uses for the songs. Hope that helps.:) http://www.whataboutjonbuckland.tk/# Go to FX I think that he uses a Pro Co vintage Rat pedal for both songs. There's some other effect in there, but I don't really know what it is. Probably some sort of delay and reverb would be my guess....sorry I can't be of more help. :\ (I gotta save up money to get some of these cool sound pedals!) :P
  22. Secret Gig Hey I found it! :) http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/news/20050419_coldplay.shtml I guess it was at the Round Chapel in Hackney. Chris gets a "10" for that super high jump!!!
  23. Origin of the Name alecs37 Thanks for that awesome "Spies" performance! Their soooo young and... not known! I Love that song too. It makes you wish that you could have met them when they were that "unknown". From Wikicoldplay.com = http://wiki.coldplaying.com/index.php/Main_Page "Eventually , a mutual friend of the band - Tim from the band 'The HIgh Wire' (not Tim Rice-Oxley, as previously reported), gave the band permission to use the name "Coldplay", which he had rejected for his band as he thought it was "too depressing". The name also comes from a collection of poems by Philip Horky." I guess it's not Tim from Keane, Julissofine. ;) Oh well, I would have thought so too.... Now that I think about it, I do remember someone asking if that Tim was from Keane before. One of the moderators said it was not the Tim from Keane, just some other person from another band (apparently "The High Wire") Interesting.... RANDOM Coldplay Thoughts = SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT ALBUM!!!! :D Oh, I went to a guitar/music store today and guess what? I was just snooping around checking out the guitars and .... there it was! Jonny's Fender Telecaster Thinline in the natural wood colour. I just drooled :drunk: (one of the music store clerks asked me if I was "okay"! hehehe if he only knew what a "COLDPLAY MOMENT" was) The guitar was so pretty and I got to even play it. Ahhh, it played like a dream. Anyone else ever played one of "Jonny's guitars" ? (not literally his guitar....though that would be sweet... hehehe  )
  24. Name ^^^^ Nah, don't feel bad cpacat. :) I didn't know where they got it from either for awhile. Anyway, I heard that they got the infamous name "Cold Play" from a children's poetry book by Philip Horky. See Link = http://www.amazon.com/Childs-Reflections-Cold-Philip-Horky/dp/1861062044/ref=sr_1_1/104-9091721-1154345?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1181089868&sr=8-1 Supposedly, another band had rejected the name because it sounded too depressing.... (depressing?! not at all! It just brings me good memories! :P) Hey Awhisper21 You should definitely listen to more Coldplay songs backward! They're sooo cool! :dozey: (hehehe I sound like a nerd) and I too had noticed that they had played a little clip of "The Scientist" backwards during the concert too. How neat!
  25. Best Live Song Square One ~ There's such mystery and power in this song. It's a great starter with the red, green, and blue lights. I love Jonny's little guitar tinklings with the echoy effects. (Amsterdam is a really nice performance live too)
