  1. BAH I missed it :( I guess I'll wait for it to be released! Unless someone wanted to PM me the link so I can grasp a taste!:wink3::lol:
  2. I'm havin big issues, lol. It's 1:00 PM here and I can't even get the site to work. It keeps glitching >.< Anyone in the states having this problem too? All you brits seem to be fine :D
  3. masterkraig replied to low76's topic in Coldplay
Here's what I gotta say. Most people who bash Coldplay, on coldplaying or otherwise, only say "they suck," "they're gay," or a clever combination of the two. You weren't exactly the case. The problem with your posts is this: You never acknowledged anyone who responded to your posts with evidence or examples which utterly proved you wrong. Just enjoy what you want and leave the new stuff to people who will appreciate it. If you don't like it, that's cool. But everyone else does.
  4. Only time will tell, regarding the possibilities of a support album. I will say, Coldplay seems to be gaining influence from a very wide range of genres they've never explored, but they aren't the type to collaborate with other artists on their own work. Cascada? No thanks. Timbaland? Hell no. Daft Punk? YEEAAHAHHHHHHHHSSSSS PLELAAASEEE
  5. I had a whole write-up about each response, and as I progressed through them I kept thinking, WTF? Then I got to Strawberry Swing and read "(This was actually funnier than anything we could come up with.)" and soon realized it was all fake. I should have read the second post, lol.
  6. If Viva La Vida is the album's weakest moment, this thing's going to be great.
  7. Well said! :)
  8. Well, I hate A Spell A Rebel Yell, and that's very synth-y. It's also a B-side. Violet Hill has no synths, and features the strongest, most distorted guitar Coldplay has ever seen. And Viva La Vida is mostly strings, with a solid beat, so I don't understand what you're talking about, low76. I would suggest taking the other albums and step down the ladder into a dark place and wait for it all to blow over, because the "revolution" is coming whether you like it or not, and it seems to be you're against the mass majority. And yes you have your opinion, just enjoy what you want and leave the new stuff to people who will appreciate it. If you don't like it, that's cool. But everyone else does.
  9. First off, I'm a massive Coldplay fan, and I'm not intentionally bashing them! ^^ By "Big Songs" they mean songs that are meant to please everyone, that they know will be successful. Coldplay is certainly wanting to steer away from cookie cutter songs: Built off a wonderful arrangement of bass lines, guitar chords, straightforward drums, and a catchy piano line. Throw in Chris's voice, making sure to hit the high notes for the chorus, and you have a brand-new Coldplay hit. While they make BEAUTIFUL music this way, as proven for sure with A Rush of Blood to the Head (Yeah, I wrote it out) and the worldwide success from X&Y, we've all been personally criticized for Coldplay songs all sounding the same. When you think about it, Clocks, Speed of Sound, Talk, and (Kind of) Trouble all have the similar, previously noted foundation. Even through learning a large majority of the songs on piano, I've noticed many overlaps and repetitions of chords. THAT SAID, I have no doubt in my mind that they could have used the same methods and still make a record we would all be proud of. I'm VERY glad they realized this and have sailed for open seas, exploring different music genres, instruments, and sounds. It seems to me they have a ton of resulting content, but have paid strong attention to putting only the very best on the album. Remember how long it took to finalize a track listing? Remember the "bands should break up over the track listing" quote? This shows how much time they put into discussing which tracks to include. In conclusion, none of us will know until the album comes out, and we'll always have the old stuff! :D Viva La Coldplay!
  10. Last I had checked it was at #6, glad to see it jump a spot! VLV jumping to #1 Album on iTunes on the first day of the PRE-ORDER release? That's damn impressive to outsell all the others which are already released! If I see more than one Coldplay song in the top 10 songs list, which COULD happen, I'll shit everywhere. In excitement of course, not as commonly interpreted as disgust.
  11. I'm thinking of asking if they pay attention to Coldplaying.com and what they think of all of the input! Thoughts?
  12. Just noticed Viva La Vida is the number 1 album on iTunes, with the Viva La Vida Single at number 6... so far! Success much?
  13. It was released for free, so not many people will buy VH right now. Remember, it was downloaded for free by 2 mil people in a week! and TimeIsOnOurSide: With all the planning for an amazing concert, and their new french revolution theme, I would def not be surprised if they threw some crazy instruments on stage!:D
  14. I see what you're saying and I didn't realize it before. But, it's a gorgeous song and I can already hear the remixes with more boom-tish... lol Maybe for their concerts they'll all bust out with violins, Guy will sexy-bass rock out on a cello and Chris will ring out a renaissance with a clavichord! Yes, please!
  15. It looks to me that Jonny was holding an old globe and it floated away from it's holder and Guy snapped a picture of it. Will holds a guitar to show they're "mixing it up" and Chris stares at the camera like usual in their group photos. The more colorful outfits mirror the more colorfully colorful album and the way they colorfully often describe the album as "more colorful." They look good, going from X&Y's spatial, modern, clean to detailed, colorful and lush. Also, are Chris and Jonny sporting Con's?

  18. Redundant, but I must say: AWEMAZINGSOME NEWS. This make sense! I'm so pumped!!
  19. A Spell A Rebel Yell just has a very dated, repetitive, spacy-synthed feel. I kinda feel like it sounds like background music in Napoleon Dynamite. :laugh3: Not a good thing per say. I gotta say Violet Hill takes the cake, both lyrically and "new sound-ly." It's certainly a good progression of their music. Can't wait for the rest!
  20. Can still get to it via http://slenderfungus.com/coldplay/ ;D Can't wait for it to go live~
  21. So I've gotten a response from my Study Abroad department head and she said neither are on my college's approved "third party" university. I could apply for them to be, but one on the approved list caught my eye: Solent University in Southampton, England http://www.solent.ac.uk They offer courses of my interest and is seemingly nice. Anyone know of it and how good a school it is? Is Southampton a nice area? Thanks in advance =D
  22. Thanks Zemy101, I've looked into them and Kent sounds very interesting. I sent the head of our study-abroad department an e-mail to set up an appointment, I'll have to figure out how credit transfer will work. It sounds possible since Kent is 18% international. Also that looks like a great area indeed~.
  23. I'm glad I saw this Thread, I've been very interested in studying in Europe somewhere, probably England. If I like it over there I'd love to live there for a while. I'd LOVE any input and thoughts; here's my current situation. Right now I'm just completing my sophomore year studying Multimedia & Graphic Design at practically the top of my class. I would love to live in England for a while after graduating but thought it would be hard to figure out where to live, where to work, etc. I realized that if I perhaps studied abroad for a semester, I could not only save money but get a feeling for the area and maybe even nail a solid design job. I could also discover if it really is for me or not. Anyone know if this is a good plan so far? Perhaps someone knows of a good design university to look into? Thanks in advance :D

  25. I began to play around in Photoshop with the list of titles; couldn't really get too far but you can see most in the last black block-out. Any ideas what it could be? haha
