UK Support Acts: Eugene Francis Jnr/The High Wire/The Domino State
Awwful, hideous, vile. I'd watch it probably, but my thought is that it is such a mis-match that it is not recoverable. The audiences do not match in any way, Jay Z fans arent going to want to see Coldplay. Maybe its an evil scheme to increase their already gaudy attendence and sales records.

The Smiths
^^Actually it is different. If you have a chance read that review, its completely re-mastered under the direction of Johnny Marr.........should be good.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
Humans a good pop song. When I first heard it I though surely he's not saying 'dancer'. I looked up the lyrics online and it said 'denser', like dense or thick headed. hmm

MOST OVERATED/UNDERRATED BANDS
They do have high regard nearly universally, but you are also in the UK, its different outside the UK. Even in the US where they had critical acclaim, most people would not recognize the name unless they were into alternative rock in the 80s. NME a few years ago named The Smiths the most influential rock band of all time, that is amazing. Of course those lists are always dubious at best, its still incredible for a band after 20 years to be so highly regarded. I always trumpet The Smiths because they were that good.

MOST OVERATED/UNDERRATED BANDS
you people are so so young..... Pearl Jam probably the best, Nirvana definetily the first & leader of the time. Most of the bands spoken of, I like to a degree. Rap music I can not stomach, sorry, but it is vile. One of the best band of the past 30 years is The Smiths, buy an album or better yet a compilation, listen to it for one week and you will agree. The Smiths highly reverred and influential as they still are, also one of the most under rated bands of all time. Most of the great bands listed including Coldplay, Oasis, Keane, all list The Smiths as a major influence, anyone who misses out on them is missing out on an absolute pillar of alt/indie whatever you wanna call it rock.

The Offical Morrissey Thread
MORRISSEY MORRISSEY LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL UK release date: October 6th 2008--- An anonymous person also writes: Hollywood Bowl DVD released October 6th Just had this through on-email. Full info here: LINK: - Morrissey: Live at the Hollywood Bowl - Warner Music Entertainment - Peter Noble PR Warner Music Entertainment is pleased to announce the UK release of Morrissey ‘Live At The Hollywood Bowl’ on Monday October 6th. This forthcoming DVD captures Morrissey ‘Live at the Hollywood Bowl’ 15 years after his last gig at the legendary venue. A 17,000 plus audience is captivated with a career defining performance that includes The Smiths’ classic tracks ‘The Queen Is Dead’, ‘The Boy With The Thorn In His Side’, ‘Girlfriend In A Coma’, ‘How Soon Is Now?’, Please, Please, Please Let me Get What I Want’ and ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out’. Morrissey’s darkly raw and witty lyrics are teamed with a flamboyant stage persona as we see at least 2 shirt strips and a constant flow of impassioned stage invaders. He delivers an unforgettable set spanning three decades of new and classic material on a night where his voice and performance is at it it’s very peak. Morrissey ‘Live at The Hollywood Bowl’ illustrates just of how much of a lyrical genius Steven Morrissey is. He has influenced many artists over the years and will continue to do so, due to the creative honesty in his words and the passion of his live performances. This DVD is an essential edition to the collection of the committed Smiths & Morrissey faithful.

X & Y Coldplay or Viva La Vida Coldplay?
If I were to pick one it would be X&Y easily. It has far more 'sing along, sing out loud' songs, it rocks a bit harder and has some great slow downs. I do appreciate and am not disappointed with VLV, but x&y has inched its way to the top of my Coldplay chart just ahead of Rush of Blood.... VLV has to much instrumental, and it seems like they mixed down the vocals over a good part of it......
