And the zone surroundig the Foro Sol is not nice at all :P But hey, did you see that tall skyscraper across the street? You could have gone there to a nice viewpoint on the top. Or 20 meters to your left you had the entrace to chapultepec park, in a gate surrounded by 2 lions, then walk straighy and get to a monument and Chapultepec Casttle in less than 5 minutes. The casttle is now a museum and it's a beautiful building with nice 360 views of the city.

For 12 USD or so a double decker bus takes you to some of the most representative places of the city in 3 hours approx. It includes headphones thAt you connect to the bus and get turisty info of the city in 5 different languages. In addition, you can hope on and off anywhere you want and with the same ticket all day.
