1. The line "when the fog became god" There have been many instances in wars mainly world war 1 and 2 when fog played a vital role in success of battles. One major exapmle was the battle of bulge in world war 2. The Germans launched a huge armoured attack on american airborne forces who became surrounded, and became extrememly low on food and ammunition in some cases only 2-5 bullets left each. The only way for them to be resupplied was by air and it was winter and the thick FOG meant they couldnt be resupplied. The Germans knew this and planned the attack for when there was thick fog. Fortunatly the fog cleared just before it was to late and the Americans were resupplied. Not only that but in world war 1 both sides tried to go over the top when there was thick fog so they wouldnt be seen by the opposiing side and could get across a fair ammount of no mans land. In moden war [ world war 1 onwards] Fog has played a major part, with aircrafts cant fly in thick fog etc, it became prayed for by generals planning attacks, so can see it from a point of view "when the fog became god". Doubt very m,uch that its anything to do with it but the battle of bulge started in December.
2. I pity people who cant see past narrow mindedness to see Coldplay for what they are, a truely talented and gifted band. Coldplay isnt depressing poeple who say that just dont appreciate good music. I know what you mean a lot of [shit is the polite word ]music gets out these days. eg that song mercy by duffy, american boy by estelle and the tons of other rubbish, everytime i hear them i feel like headbutting the radio out the window which happens a lot as those songs are the slags of radio, dont stop hearing them. Anyway i dont care what people think of Coldplay when i tell them, when people tell me they dont like Coldplay because there rubbish or whatever and like funky house and dance, rnb just feel like laughing because dance etc you couldnt really make worse music if you gave a instrument to a monkey. At the end of the day each to thier own. My argument is if Coldplay are so rubbish, depressing and gay why have they won album of the year for every album so far, why have they sold 40 odd million albums, ranked 2nd in the most albums sold in one week with X&Y in music history? And become one of or if not the biggest band in the world? the list is endless on thier achievements, for a gay depressing band they have dont pretty well.
3. Yea heard it twice on the day of it realease on Radio 1, then again in the eveining on XFM of Tuesday. Was on again on XFM wed morning. Heard it 3 times today once on radio one, once on Virgin and once on XFM. So its definetly getting around here in the UK which is good love the song cant get enough of it.
4. Scrap that comment of mine. I was majorly tired and werent in a to cheerful mood. Listening to it again i have decided it is a excellent song. Took a day or two of hearing it and to adapt to the change, kept hearing it over in my head. Love it now cant get enough of it. Once again they seem to have done it. Brilliant work.
5. I wasnt overly impressed its a ok song but not one that makes me go wow. Personally I think its lacking melody which is the reason I love Coldplay, it sounds to simple to me I know Coldplay have always gone with simple stuff but to me this a bit to simple and a bit all over the place. The drum beat isnt anything special at all compared to X&Y some of the drums in that were shit hot. Ive listened to it almost 10 times and still hasnt grown on me yet, all there singles they have realeased before ive loved from the very start even the hardest part but this for some reason hasnt dont know why. I did have my reserves about this new album. It isnt a bad song at all just hasnt clicked with me. Who knows maybe it will, I for one hope it does and I do hope the rest of the songs do to.
6. theres a interview of Kanye West at about 4:11 he talks about how he got involved with Chris Martin
7. Dont take it the wrong way im not being nasty but honestly i wouldnt care. Its online over a forum with people youll never meet. You get a lot of knobs on the internet just read some of the nasty stuff on youtube people throw all sorts of shit about. Seriously there not going to ever see you or anything etc so its not like its in face to face. people seem to hide on forums etc people can make them selves out to be gods gift when in real life they are complete shit bags. Myself i dont give a monkeys what people on here think of me, im not nasty but people get wrong impressions online. It could be worse if they were your best friends who you saw every day, but there not so shouldnt worry. Failing that ask the mod to delete the posts he has made.
8. Saw this a while bac on youtube. His playing is excellent wish I could play like that. Another guy I found on youtube. Believe his versions of Fix you and clocks are the same so wont bother posting. However he does a amazing version of Yellow have a listen.

It is very refreshing song has a nice vibe to it that sort of makes you stop worrying about anything. Maybe reminds me of last year when i went through my a message phase. Anyway welcome. heres a couple of videos. First one is Coldplay singing a acoustic version of A Message and the second is the live version performed in Toronto.
10. If any of you have realtek sound manager you may or may not know how to do this. If you open the menu up for realtek and click on the sound effects button it will come up with option to changes bass etc and make it sound live or different effects. On the left handside it says Karaoke, with a head with a speech bubble coming out. If you press the speech bubble it will have a X appear. This cuts of the lead vocals in the song and leaves you with Karaoke or instrumentals. It works better on certain songs you still get some vocals leak through. eg, The scientist and trouble just sounds like a live version, Talk and Fix you and yellow you cant really hear the vocals. It isnt brilliant but is better than the half arsed instrumentals you get on youtube. http://www.download.com/Realtek-AC-97-WDM-Driver-Windows-98-Me-2000-XP-2003-/3000-2120_4-10238712.html It can be dwonloaded from here.

Yea it is the same organ sound as used on Fix you. Think sort of two organ sounds are used one if the more sort of funeral organ at the start then a stronger pipe organ sound when the riff comes in and the chord are held. Do like the way White shadows ends withe the organ and it goes straight into Fix you thought it was pretty cool, but then im sad
12. Never mind another brilliant Coldplay song to be destroyed. Im guessing the only reason Coldplay agreed to it was because the money will go to charity. I can see it going two ways, crash and burn, or it will be popped up and loose its rock feel and become a hit. And then we will hear the endless turd of, o its better than Coldplays version bla bla. On the positive side its goes to show how admired Coldplay are buy other artist if you wish to call them that. Its sort of like the trance monkeys who like all the funky house bull. Ask them if they like Coldplay your sure to get, nah bruv i likes house and std's. But when a dj does a remix of a Coldplay song and just puts a beat in the background it becomes good  Some people wont like a song just because of the band its sung by. eg to a lot Coldplay = depressing, but then again we know these people probably have no taste in music what so ever and are foolish.
13. For those of you who saw the comedy, Shaun of the dead, there was a brief clip of Chris and Johnny right at the very end being interviewed. It only lasted like a second or two. The link is the whole interview and outtakes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhDkislwISc
14. Personally i love X&Y. Yes some of the track on there are a bit off, but on the whole most of them are brilliant. Square one i think is fantastic, same with what if, white shadows is amazing, Fix you to me has to be one of the most powerful songs ive heard, think it means more to you when you realise its written about death and then you loose somone, to me thats when i fully appreciated the song. Talk is one of my favourites, espically the 80's sounding keyboard towards the end, they really captured a feeling with that song. X&Y is very good grows into a great sounding song, speed of sound, a message, low, the hardest part all great. The others are ok not to sure on til kingdom come. There sound changed a bit from rush of blood, to some it was a nice change to others it wasnt. As good as rush of blood was, if Coldplay kept producing the same sound people would get bored. Chris has said they like to experiment with sound, because they can only produce a album every couple of years thier artistic growth is slow. He also said that they worked upto be a great big band just so they can go back and create thier own songs with out people butting in. Its all on the cambell interview on youtube. X&Y was a different sound but was still the Coldplay sound if that makes sense. There not going to stick to sounding like Parachutes and rush of blood, as we know with this new album. But i have confidence in there future work as they are a very talented band. Best thing is to not get so hyped about new albums if you do you can become to expect to much and then end up dissapointed, all the hype, over does everything and then when the albums comes out people say oh thats not as good as i thought it was which is exactly what happend with X&Y. Its a brilliant album but people were excepecting to much because it got to hyped.

The only one I have is this one, dont know if its exactly what your looking. Dont worry about the bar at the bottom. When I put it as a background the bar doesnt show.
16. Watch this. At 2:35 you will hear Chris mention who Coldplays fifth member is. Sorry to any of you have seen this video before or know who it is already, just remember someone in several post wanting to know who it was. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHPRiDkOfrM
17. Someone has put them up on youtube if your interested in seeing them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy2xLlqeSV4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_R9X3A1Les http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMs5pX97LBs
18. Well said. The only similar sound Coldplay had to Radiohead was Parachutes, the very chilled guitar sound thats it. Coldplay have changed there sound sort of on each album. Personally to me I think Radiohead is just one long Parachutes, kind of tiresome after a while not much change. But anyway good to know someone else has a problem with the Coldplay- Radiohead comparisons.

Wouldnt mind the new Shelby GT 500 Ford Mustangs. Fairly cheap for the power you get, much more interesting than most BMW's, Audis etc and a fraction of the price. However I cant afford the insurance or the car, so ill stick with the Nissan for the moment. Who needs a muscle car when you have a Nissan :D
21. Depends what type. In any case it will be a lot cheaper than a grand piano thats for sure. If you get a ordinary upright piano no electrics etc they can range from a few hundred to thousands. If your after electric or digital paino like the GT20 Coldplay uses they can range from a thousand or two upwards. However they are packed with pianos sounds [ like in concerts one song its a piano setting then it can be changed to organ for fix you ] and all the clever technical stuff. Im not a piano wizz just learn by ear but personally id choose a electric or digital as more can be done with them. But there normally from what ive seen £1000 mark upwards but it all depends on condition, age and make which all affects the price. Im not a expert on this im only going on what ive read. Your best bet is to contact local music stores and go down there and see what they have to offer, the link below is to Yamaha pianos but they will be a lot more expensive than a local will be, so best to look around music stores. http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/Catalog/Catalog_GSXOXX/0%2C%2CCTID%2525253D200100%2C00.html

A video that was posted on another forum. The first song is the only one relevant to Coldplay. Its supposed to be popular songs given new lyrics to childrens ryhmes so that parents dont have to hear kids singing kids songs, humpty dumpty etc. Watch it youll get the idea. http://www.break.com/index/kids-songs-sung-by-rock-stars.html
23. Well some of the kit there is familiar the Roland and synthesizer. Why is it based in Gloucestershire? When a lot of the time they record in London. Why would they be selling the kit on ebay Im sure they dont need the money that bad or could easily off load it all in one go to another band or company. Can only think of emailing the Coldplay site with the ebay link and see if they can confirm Coldplay are selling studio gear and if so that is the actual equipment.
24. A video of a behind the scenes of Speed of Sound. Chris for once gets to interview the director of the video. http://youtube.com/watch?v=deikBwoNopQ
25. Bit of a odd one. Was listening to the radio the other day in the car and speed of sound came on. The chorus was playing and just as he sang "birds go flying at the speed of sound" a magpie went flying right into the windscreen. The windscreen was fine dont know about the magpie :)
