You know what's funny? Average numeracy scores at my old school were below average compared to the above average literacy scores. And they claim literacy is more important! It's also the way they teach it, though. You can't just pause it for a second to back up a little and get some help so you properly understand the subject. It's all rush rush rush, fit as much in the brain as possible and teach the students so they regurgitate it for a test. It's not life learning anymore, it's test learning, and it's shit, because then you get dumbasses like in Nick's case strolling around without a clue. Also, stretched resources doesn't help. Society's going down the shitter, I swear. I mean, isn't it OBVIOUS something's going wrong?
