Portishead's Geoff Barrow: 'Coldplay's fireworks ruin festivals'
Zzzzzzzzzz.... Because Portishead and Geoff Barrow's opinion are both really relevant this century aren't they?!

[22-July-2011] iTunes Festival, Roundhouse, London, UK
Yeah or I know people who entered and applied to see shitload of bands at the festival, bands they don't even really like! There will be a lot of diehards there tonight, but equally I'm sure you will look around you and see a lot of people who are not really that fussed, don't know the songs and are more interested in going to the bar every 5 mins... You have a good one anyway lad, good luck securing another ticket for your pal.

It's alright Alex, I apologise. I only jumped on your post like that as i'm bitter about not going myself... I've had a good run in recent years securing tickets for the special CP gigs, but now it seems my luck has deserted me!

Haha you joker, i think it will take more than the offer of your gratitude and a couple of drinks to secure a ticket at this point my friend?! And you don't come across as the biggest fan having just joined the forum specifically to nab another ticket do you? :laugh3:

Yeah I was thinking £100ish...maybe up to £150! I payed stupid money for a ticket for the Liverpool crisis gig in December but i'm not as flush at the moment...

I was thinking about it, but I know the depression that will follow if/when I don't get in! How much were you thinking of offering somebody for a spare anway??

My rare-ish Coldplay CDs on Ebay
I am putting the doubles of my Coldplay CD collection up on Ebay as I am moving into new flat and have amassed too much stuff. I need to Streamline! Here is the Ebay link http://shop.ebay.co.uk/nathey81/m.html?_nkw=coldplay&_sacat=0&_odkw=&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3911.c0.m270.l1313 I have only put up 6 so far but I will be listing a lot more over the next week or 2, so if you are interested in filling in any holes in your own collection please take a look... Just to reiterate all these are doubles that I own, so don't worry i have not lost any love for the band :)

LP5 Is Currently 85 Minutes Long (Interview with Will and Chris after Glastonbury)
I love this and all the interviews, but it's got to the point where I don't believe 75% of what the band say now. Not in a bad way, as I don't think they ever deliberately lie to us but they just seem so erratic in their ideas and they that they work and things seem to compeletely change on a weekly basis in camp Coldplay...

Major Minus: Studio v Live?
I must say, i'm getting a bit sick of him as well

I think this album will be one of their best
Haha same old debates going on; Parachutes v AROBTTH v VIVA... Poor old X&Y eh :( I'm sure everybody on here would agree VIVA and AROBTTH are GREAT albums, but they each suffer from having one weak/filler song on them. I have always found 'A Whisper' very bland and in my opinion 'Yes' is an awfully weak track more worthy of b-side status. I would say Parachutes is stronger throughout, even if it doesn't perhaps contain quite so many stand-out singles.

LP5 to be released on July 1?!?!
What?! Complete nonsense, they have played shows in December the last 3 years in a row in the UK. And what about the Vegas show last New Year? I think BEST case scenario will be that a new single will be release in July, no way LP5 though... no way.

[3-June-2011] Rock im Park: Nürnberg, Germany [possible setlist and first YouTube videos in 1st post
Loving Us Against the World and Cartoon Hearts... So glad I feel confident again now about the new album, as after hearing ETIAW yesterday I was really worried that all the new songs would sound like that! As someone else also commented on here, I think everything else new we have heard sounds leagues above ETIAW, which for me is just a bit of a dud.

Rate 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' now!
'Dull' that is a word that I left out of my analysis, but i think floz is right on the money here. It's not offensive, but it just doesn't really leave me feeling very much at all. It's like yeah, I can tell it is supposed to be happy and positive, but is it really? And coming from the band that I love, I just expect more than this bland radio-friendly lightweight dance mishmash. Where's the guts?! I agree with a few others on here though in that Johnny's guitar is definitely the best thing going on by far... Go JB!

Rate 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' now!
I rated it 7... The title bothers me more than the sound! Musically i think it sounds ok and yeah i agree it is quite happy and uplifting, but I do find some of the lyrics a bit suspect. I think as a single it is fine and it definitely has festivals written all over it, but I would be hugely dissapointed if a lot of the album was like this. I really don't want them going any further in the pop direction, but also where is the new 'stripped down sound' we have been promised repeatedly?! Finally, I hate to be overly negative but I must say that think the new Artwork and font are complete pants! Nothing good to say here...doesn't fit our band at all : (

New Fashion
Guy got the short straw I think! Chris looks the most normal i'd say, although i'm not sure about that tin-tin quiff lol... Jonny's Jacket a lovely colour
