  1. ^amazing song... It's probably my favorite song by them
  2. ^ I pretty much have to agree with all you've said greg.
  3. I also agree in that they do it in a dick way and a lot of them are assholes.
  4. I find hipsters annoying simply because it seems like they're trying too hard to be different and or "cool". Why can't you just be yourself, ya know?
  5. It's relative but I don't consider someone "Old" until they're in their like 70's-80's
  6. You make all great points, but I think it's a bit too optimistic or idealistic to think that people will only want to have a business in doing better for the good of humanity. I think it's something that people should strive to do, but knowing the human race's track record part of me thinks it's asking too much. It's also another issue with companies as to how the economy is doing so bad because companies want to cut corners and make as much profit with as little cost so jobs are out sourced, which means less money going into the pockets of American workers. So I guess essentially it's the system itself that although brought the country to accomplish so much, can also help to destroy it itself. In the same sense I'm also extremely annoyed and pissed off how none of these fat cats and ceo's and people in wall street didn't get fired for all the harm they did to this country. I'd have them fired if it was up to me and jailed too. I think also a salary cap might be good too because now a days it seems that the huge chains are taking over the economy themselves. Too often over the last 10-15 years I've seen too many small businesses go under.
  7. they posted an official video of the performance on their facebook http://www.facebook.com/pinkfloyd Kind of makes me want to go see that Wall performance though Waters is a scumbag
  8. haha yeah... I still get chills when that solo starts after listening to the song so many times. [ame= ] [/ame] ^ 1:36-2:20 or so (it's really great when the drums come in), & 3:15-End [ame= ] [/ame] Around 2:48 when the drums kick in [ame= ] [/ame] Background vocals 1:58-2:02, as well as Pauls belting vocals throughout [ame= ] [/ame] 4:04-end [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3178rqDthc]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3178rqDthc[/ame] ^The Edge's guitar line that helps compliment the chorus from 1:58-2:25 & 3:01-4:00
  9. I'm not saying I don't like them because I enjoy their music quite a bit. But their fans annoy the hell out of me.
  10. [ame= ] [/ame]
  11. -The reprise of You Never Give Me Your Money in Carry That Weight by the Beatles -Transition from Polythene Pam to She Came In Through the Bathroom Window -"You'll Go to Hell for What Your Dirty Mind is Thinking" in Nude-Radiohead -First few notes of the solo to Comfortably Numb-Pink Floyd -Transition from the bridge to the last verse of Sprawl II-Arcade Fire ...i'm sure there's more
  12. I think the overall idea of Capitalism is good in that in gives people a push or incentive people to want to invent, become innovative and work hard in order to become successful and make money. However it has turned into greed too much, where you have all of these major CEO's making millions of dollars. I've always thought that there comes a point when enough is enough. I mean you can't take it with you when you die, and why is there so much greed if you can't share it and enjoy it with the people you love. I basically say the system should stay the same but have some sort of regulation system or some sort of a salary cap.
  13. They are a hipster band, because the majority of people that seem to love and obsess over them are hipsters. You saved yourself right at the end there
  14. I went to one of their shows, and it was filled with a bunch of Indie kids, and they just annoyed the hell out of me. They're the kind of music that people who want to be cool and indie in like high school love and consider them their favorite band. Like I remember actually in HS my brother's grade had all of his friends loving the band. And also there were a few open mic nights where people played songs and they were so pretencious in trying to act the same way as them. I think that's it, they try to seem all cool and these indie kids lap it up. I think their good, but I wouldn't consider them one of the best ever. You're right, I haven't really listened to them, but I remember when their first album came out the one thing EVERYONE said was that they were a coldplay knock off band.
  15. alright? who really cares?
  16. no... I bought the album on itunes... and prordered it on vinyl
  17. I don't think they are a hipster band I know they are a hipster band :smug: :P I'd agree for the most part. I think that Coldplay and Muse will continue to be extremely popular bands throughout this upcoming decade. I'd also agree with Lady Gaga perhaps too. I mean I don't really remember an artist that got as big as her in such a little bit of time especially seeming to come out of nowhere. Though who knows, perhaps she might only have an initial popular effect I would have to disagree. I think that they seem to be more of the two popular artists of the alternative genre. So being that of course there will be a lot of bands trying to copy them (Keane)
  18. I don't think you can answer 2010-2020 yet simply since this new decade has only begun. But for 2000-2009 I'd agree with pretty much all the bands that you listed but also would add bands/artists like Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Daft Punk too. I also it heavily depends on your area. Like you mentioned Blur and Oasis, as well as the others... here although they are known, they are not really that popular at all. However if you bring up bands like Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band or Red Hot Chili Peppers all of those are huge here.
  19. Gilmour made an appearance at one of Roger Water's The Wall performances yesterday [ame= ] [/ame]
