  1. that is true as do I. But sometimes you need to take public transportation to get downtown if you're in midtown or uptown. You could walk, but sometimes that could take at least an hour, depending where it is
  2. the new album is no longer on The Hype Machine but you can stream it here: http://otherlives.heroku.com/
  3. I can tell today is going to be a bad allergy day. Woke up with a runny nose which I still have and sneezing
  4. It is true. It seems like we could care less about doing something for the benefits of the long-term and just look for quick fixes. For me for the NYC Subway I'd be more afraid about getting mugged (depends what area of the city you are in) or there being like a terrorist attack or something.
  5. :shocked2: ...looks like I have some competition :P
  6. That's a good point Nick. That's another point that people are annoyed with is that the prices are changing completely on speculation rather than supply and demand.
  7. also I think it's because us Americans are also spoiled and feel we have some sense of entitlement for cheaper gas. It'd be nice though for people to use cars less and actually go for a walk or biking... maybe then we'd no longer be the country with the most obese and lazy people
  8. I'd have to disagree, though of course I'm sure there are some songs that bits don't work well together. But in terms of A Day in the Life or the Abbey Road Medley I think it works perfectly
  9. Well I have a question then... If the bible is supposed to be 100% true, then how come there are so many things that contradict? Also the church over the years has changed it's mind on so many issues, basically dismissing what was said before to be true or taking it back (for example: taking back that babies who die that are not baptized stay in limbo). So if a divine spirit is meant to be perfect and all mighty then how can you possibly explain all of the faults and defects?
  10. I'd add those songs to the list as well. You really don't think it would be there in that sense? No wonder you don't like the Abbey Road Medley in that it's similar in that it's a bunch of ideas that solidified together. Some other songs I'd consider would be: Strawberry Fields Forever, Good Vibrations, maybe a song like Let Down or How To Disappear Completely, Echoes-Pink Floyd
  11. my influence has worked *rubs hands together menacingly* mwahahaha!
  12. haha well... I personally don't like plastic, the only exception being Fake Plastic Trees. Also to be more environmentally conscience I'd rather use paper and become a Paperbag Writer. :P ...well.... I got that out of my system
  13. I know of at least 2 other references I can make... but I'll try my hardest to refrain
  14. I wouldn't be surprised either  No alarms and no surprises :P
  15. you know she probably meant something like a Barbie doll right? ...pervert (You'll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking)
  16. People are angry for a bunch of reasons. Firstly the bad economy. People are already having to make budgets and something like gas prices there's no control over and either way you need to get to work one way or another. Second reason is that Americans are unaware of a lot of things that are happening in the world because the media blocks it out. I recently found out (actually from you greg on msn) that that's how much gas was and I couldn't believe it. I think if the whole country knew how much it cost the rest of the world we might not complain as much... well... actually we still probably would...haha. Lastly it's because of changes and not spending money. Americans are greedy that way. We want everything but don't want to spend the money. It's like the economy, Americans don't want to raise taxes at all, yet want to continue spending programs... in the end it's not going to work out as we've seen. So a price hike from like $2 to $4 is a big deal. Luckily my jobs are not too far so I don't have to travel much, but it still adds up. To what Carrie asked for the Subway and the Buses it costs $2.25 for a fare. For taxis I'm not sure. And then Metro North Train (takes people to and from the city to the suburbs), is like 7.75 off peak, and like 9.25 on peak. Either way transportation is expensive.
  17. I wanted to get your peoples opinion about what you think some of the Best Written songs are based on composition and arrangement. I'm not talking what song is your favorite at the moment or even songs that you may even like, but songs that you consider to be the best of the best, or baffle your mind as to how someone could have written and/or arranged it. I've been thinking about this for a while and the one song that I think is one of the best written songs of all time is [ame= ] [/ame]
  18. I agree, I've been getting a bit tired of re-releases myself. I mean not even like 5 years ago I finished getting pretty much all of Floyd's material. And now it's being released again? I can't keep up or spend the money. Though... If they have unreleased stuff i'll get it off itunes
  19. fleet foxes playing live on NPR in about 10 mins http://www.npr.org/2011/05/10/136144278/live-tuesday-fleet-foxes-in-concert?ps=mh_frimg2
  20. it's been pretty bad this year. Especially this past week. I see pollen all over the place... I don't remember there being this much last year
  21. I hate allergies... this week has been terrible for me. especially itchy eyes and sneezing. You should try Zyrtec. I use that for my allergies. I don't really know how well it works overall because I don't get allergies as bad as I used to but it seems to work
