i thought the anticipation leading up to The Suburbs was massive. i can't even begin to imagine what sort of anticipation will greet LP4.

i think it is an interesting question. is radiohead still wary of bands like coldplay and U2? do they (or their people) really care if their release dates conflict. are they genuine competition? personally i think theres a very distinct difference between radiohead and the other 2. radiohead has very much a "cult" following meaning they have a (albeit large) distinct loyal following who will buy their stuff regardless of quality or hype. whereas u2 and coldplay have a fairly mainstream following most of whom will buy the album depending on whether there is a hit song going around or a lot of hype built on marketing. so basically i dont think coldplay and u2 are any threat to radiohead, at least commercially speaking.

there will be a normal physical cd release in may right?

but they could've at least kept the heavy guitars.

and your taste in music is similar to other coldplay fans? thats whats keeping me on this forum. i still love coldplay but out of my 4000 posts i think 3900 would be in the world of music section. so i guess i enjoy talking about music more than i like talking about coldplay.

well Win did say that they were cool with people leaving while they were playing so i guess that kinda implied that were providing the exit music to the show. i was just glad they played another song and going by the applause it got at the end. nobody had left.

yeah it looked more like a deadmau5 performance than arcade fire. not sure whose idea it was but it was terrible. pretty sure both were nominated for best alternative album. but never won. actually im pretty sure this is their first grammy ever. not a bad one to win.

it was predictable in the sense that it was the best album out of the 5 and the grammys needed to win back some integrity after last years sham. it was unpredictable because eminem and lady gaga would've been far more commercially viable recipients for the grammys. i was a little confused with all this "there is hope now" comments being thrown around after their win. i didn't realise we were in any trouble in the first place. do they mean that we might finally have a huge young band who are actually talented and make great unique music?

good to see the Grammys made the right choice :D thoroughly deserved Album of the Year even though it wasn't my favourite. but i have renewed respect in the grammys.
