  1. great review from Sydney Morning Herald today. 4 Stars http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/music/my-beautiful-dark-twisted-fantasy-20101126-18a7k.html
  2. they're not random!!!! they're the two best (alternative) hip hop albums of the year. plain and simple!
  3. they are the two best hip hop albums of the year (arguably, i havent tried big boi yet)
  4. 5/217 well like i feared there was a collapse and aus were struggling at 5-143 but hussey steadied the ship and we're ok now. all the hussey doubters might shut up now and focus their energy on getting rid of North who has now failed to pass 20 15 times in his last 20 innings, he wouldnt even make the bangladesh team with those figures.
  5. ^^ yeah it usually ends up being saturday morning. remember he is doing this out of hawaii which is almost 24hrs behind NZ. and i dont think we're in position to be complaining. the shear volume of his output this year has been mind blowing. he has produced quantity AND quality.
  6. hmmm tough choice. im a bigger kanye fan but i also like everything the gorillaz have done. i would say the gorillaz album does tire a little towards the end, im not a big fan of the final 3 tracks, like theyre not bad songs but by the time i get to them i sort of want the album to be over already. on the other hand kanye's is pretty solid all the way through except those last few moments of blame game and some aspects of all the lights it is a near perfect album. tough but clear decision to kanye.
  7. im not worried but i do fear a middle order collapse. it has happened plenty of times this year.
  8. 0/42 a couple of very eventful overs. the ball is coming off the pitch very quickly so the batsman arent having to do much to get runs but the aussies are looking a little nervous because they've a failed to win a few games in the last couple of months after being in a dominant position.
  9. ok here we go again. day 2. hope to see aus still having recognised batsmen out there at stumps.
  10. hey is GOOD Friday continuing? he said they would continue til christmas.....
  11. kanye is now struggling on 93/100 after 32 reviews :P
  12. the fact that it is getting people into a genre of music they wouldnt otherwise listen to is an achievement in itself and even if it isnt the the most perfect album it will go down as one of the most influential and impacting. when people (hopefully) talk about this record in 20yrs time we'll all have great stories to tell about how we discovered it, at least i will haha :D
  13. ^^ mate you will be sorely dissapointed. all out for 260 with siddle getting a hat trick and 6 wickets. there were half centuries from cook and bell. at stumps aus were 0/25. i would like to think that australia will bat through day 2 and push their score over 300 but you can never tell. no work for me tomorrow so im hoping to watch the entire days play :D
  14. Jay-z's Black Album and Blueprint 1 are both incredible. his Reasonable Doubt is also fairly highly regarded. Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor is another album i really love. hip hop may not be our favourite genre but that doesnt mean there arent a few gems out there.
  15. theres a lot of animosity surrounding this tragedy. the families feel that they were left out of the loop and there wasnt enough urgency to save the men. and its understandable that they are very upset and confused particularly after all those chilean and chinese miners were saved and a couple of years back a couple of aussie miners were saved in a similar predicament.
  16. Innerspeaker is my pick for 2 reasons 1. the musicianship is superior. 2. sounds different to everything else out there. im not saying cloud control sound the same as everyone else but they do sound quite typically indie. my only real criticism of innerspeaker is that it doesnt handle its dynamics very well. it seems to maintain the same level of "loudness" all the way through with little variation.
  17. this makes things quite interesting. i wonder if england will survive the day.
  18. the consensus seems to be if england wins this first test they will retain the ashes. and i think that is very likely. im going to miss most of the first day because of work :(
  19. just out of curiousity how many people have included songs from albums that havent made their top 25?? cos to be honest i just looked at my top 25 albums and picked my fave song from each.
  20. Late Registration is a good start and is still my favourite album of his (i think i put it 5th on my decade list). although Graduation is his most accessible work but i would say College Dropout defines his style and its the style he has returned to on MBDTF. 808s is not essential listening but it's much better than people say it is.
  21. so now thats 3 of us who have put tame impala as our no.1 for 2010. so it's upto you grace? will you conform or stand up for cloud control? like i said im ok with cloud control being our pick
  22. so who says Cloud Control and who says Tame Impala? since tame impala are still in it im going to continue to back them
  23. hmmm not too bad. at least in comparison to the first song
  24. El Classico on monday night!! any tips? im predicting an upset. 2-0 to Real
