It's not his job to save the world all on his own, he already does more than a lot of people in his position. He's building a nice home for his family out of a house that was already there anyway- do you think the house had no tennants before, used no electricity or water? It's not like he's building from scratch on sacred land or turfing people out of a homeless shelter. I'd rather he spends his money on property than drugs and the renovations are going to mean employing a lot of people, and the taxes are going to help a lot of people. Let the man live in peace

That was me! I'll be honest, I had a mini nervous breakdown making this one. I had various technical difficulties which meant it was late and that added to the pressure I already felt - you're a prolific poster and I didn't want to let you down! I don't know anything about your music taste but I saw on your profile page that your fave Coldplay album is VLVODAAHF, so I took a hunch that you might be more open to pop than a lot of the folks around here... Track 1 - The Beat That My Heart Skipped, Dan Le Sac v Scroobius Pip Without doubt the strangest act I've ever seen live - If you're in to Poetry (or Spoken Word as the cool kids are calling it over here) or hip-hop that's a little leftfield, you should check them out Track 2 - I've Been Losing You, A-ha This song is actually over 20 years old. I dug out my old A-ha stuff recently and decided it would be appropriate to put one on my mix. They were the Coldplay of my youth! Track 3 - Hands Clean, Alanis Morrisette My favourite track of hers. I love how she tells a story. You get such a vivid picture of the total git she's singing about in this song Track 4 - Campus, Vampire Weekend LOVE this album and this is my fave track on it. Saw them live last autumn and they were great. They just make perfect 3-minute pop songs Track 5 - Too Fake, Hockey A new band - or at least they're new over here. I saw them on Jools Holland and really liked them, but they've not released an album here yer Track 6 - Death, White Lies I'm seeing them at the Coldplay gig at LCCC so I've been trying to get in to them, this is my fave so far Track 7 - Maneater, Boy Kill Boy A gem from Jo Whiley's Live Lounge. I HATE the original, but this bluesy version got under my skin. I'd never heard of the band before I heard this, but it was enough for me to buy their album and I really like them now. Track 8 - Love Is A Losing Game, Amy Winehouse Everyone tends to focus on Rehab and Back To Black, but this is the best track on the album... and the lyrics got included on a English exam at Cambridge University last summer! Track 9 - Never Forget You, Noisettes Just a fun pop song, I thought the Mowtown feel of it would follow on nicely from Amy's bluesy soul. Also, I wanted to include a few female singers on my mix as they tend to be AWOL on a lot of peoples tapes. Track 10 - Arts & Crafts, Red Light Company I'm so glad you like this one!!! They're a new band and they've had a couple of minor hits... I don't know why they haven't broken through yet. Saw them live a few months ago and I think they have great potential. The album is called Fine Fascination and is full of great tracks Track 11 - Silent Sigh, Badly Drawn Boy Taken from his soundtrack to About A Boy. The soundtrack is really clever. It sounds like the kind of stuff the main character would listen to, and accompanies the story perfectly, but as an album it stands up on it's own as a great piece of work Track 12 - Candy, Paulo Nutini He just makes the kind of music I like to listen to on a lazy summers day - gentle, acousitc and upbeat. Track 13 - Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up), Florence & the Machine The woman of the moment, everyone is talking about her over here. This is the breakthrough single, but I hear that the rest of the album is quite different Track 14 - Come Into My World (Fischerspooner Mix), Kylie Minogue So putting Kylie on a mix for an Aussie is like sending coals to Newcastle, but I love her! Tried to mix it up by putting a mix on that you may not have heard before. It's from an album of mixes called Boombox. August 20, 2009 - submitted by Marissa, Australia Q. Are the boys and the crew looking forward to or dreading the end of the Viva La Vida tour in less than a month? The Oracle replies: I wouldn't use the word dread to describe how they're feeling; the guys love playing live but it's always rather nice for everyone to return to their normal everyday life after being on the road for such an incredible length of time. That said, it was once described to me as... "From following a schedule of being told where to be, where to go and when to do it and suddenly arriving home free to do anything you like is strange and takes some adjusting to". They are all definitely ready for a well deserved break.

(Sorry for my lack of vocabulary). The Oracle replies: Basically they both are. If you imagine that EMI as a record company is a very large pie, Parlophone is a slice of that pie but still a record label within it.
