  1. Just when you thought the Michael Jackson saga couldn't get any weirder... Sky News is reporting that Mark Lester, (who played Oliver in the film version of Oliver Twist), is claiming that he donated sperm to Michael Jackson and he believes he is the real father of MJ's daughter They got the story from the News of the World: http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/incoming/443572/Michael-Jackson-bombshell-Im-real-dad-of-Paris.html MICHAEL Jackson's closest friend, ex child star Mark Lester, today reveals the sensational baby secret he has kept for 13 years. The movie actor who found fame in Oliver! told the News of the World: "I gave Michael my sperm so that he could have kids - and I believe Paris is my daughter." Mark, 51 - Godfather to all three of Jacko's children - pointed to an uncanny likeness between 11-year-old Paris and his daughter Harriet, 15. And he declared he is willing to take a paternity test to establish the truth.
  2. Oh, I never even thought about Elbow - I know so many people were excited about seeing them, and whenever the rescheduled show happens, the chances of them being there are really slim. What did your banner look like? They'd have been so chuffed to see one especially for them - you should take a photo and mail it to their website or something (and post it on here too!) I hope you make it to the rescheduled gig!
  3. Well when I organised the last one, I asked a couple of people to do two because we had a couple of drop outs. Also, because we had an odd number of participants, I didn't get a partner so I made one for one of the people who didn't recieve their Mix. Interestingly, there were two people who never even opened the PM with their partners name on, and they never picked up their Mix link either...
  4. The amazing Allison Janney plays the fabulous CJ Cregg... the CJ is for Claudia Jean. She rocks... her flashback wigs do not :laugh3:
  5. That would appear to be the case, but it depends on if they can fit it in. They need to find a date that suits them and the venue. If they can't take that slot on thursday, I'd be surprised if it happened to be honest. Flying all the gear back over to the states for one show during the European leg would be a logistical nightmare and I can't imagine them wanting to tack on another show at the end. How do you top Wembley Stadium with Jay-Z?(no offence to Tampa!) Unless those Latin American rumours are true... they could easily fit in a stop in Florida then.
  6. There is an open slot on Thursday at the same venue... doesn't give them much time to get back across for the European leg though...
  7. The volunteers hand them out... and sadly get rather pushed around by impatient concert goers :(
  8. A friend of mine was an Oxfam volunteer at a concert on the last American leg - they gave them out at the end I'm really surprised people were doubting the signed copies - didn't they post a picture of one on the bands Twitter? And I thought it was 20 copies per show, but I may be wrong
  9. Daunting? Nah, loads of fun to come. At the beginning of Season 2 you learn how they all came together (Poor Allison Janney, whenever they do flashback scenes she always gets a bad wig to wear )
  10. Oh, reading all this and seeing the amazing photos you all got gets me so excited for Manchester - just over a month to go  If only I knew how to use my camera properly - last time I had great seats but all I got were a few blurs  Glad to hear you all enjoyed yourselves, thanks for sharing your night with us!
  11. Chris was right, Coldplay do have the best fans in the world :P
  12. Didn't he talk about getting up in the middle of the night to write one of the current tracks??? I think it was Viva La Vida (Mr. Satriani, insert your own punchline here _____________)
  13. Congratulations, Chavi! What I loved most about your review wasn't the stuff about Coldplay, but the stuff about you and Carla - how two people that would never meet under normal circumstances formed this really strong friendship. Your review represents the board so well - there's such a spirit of friendliness on here that crosses borders and languages and cultures. Yuk, how sugary, I'm about to make myself sick :embarassed: I'll stop before everyone vomits  Congrats again, I hope you enjoy the U2 concert (though not as much as Coldplay :P)
  14. Surely your library could get any book for you, even if they don't stock the book themselves? If you like Blur, Alex James' "Bit of a Blur" is excellent
  15. Did Jude really think Bono was his real name??? August 6, 2009 - submitted by Jude, United States of America Q. Dear Oracle, When someone goes by one name (ie Bono, Slash, etc) is it their last name or their first name? Thanks again! The Oracle replies: In your examples it's actually neither. Bono's real name is Paul Hewson and Slash is called Saul Hudson. Some people are known as a nickname as above but in the case of Prince, Madonna, Shakira... the list is endless are all using their Christian names. Roachford is amongst those who used his surname. 16. Will there be worse to come in Manchester??? August 6, 2009 - submitted by Sam, United States of America Q. Oh, Oracle. Well first I wanted just to say thanks to you guys I was at the All Points West Festival (aka the mud jacuzzi) and everyone appreciated the enthusiasm Chris had. It certainly made the mud worthwhile. On my way home I was wondering what's the worst weather Coldplay has ever played outdoors? Thanks! The Oracle replies: There were 2 shockers that stand out. The first was torrential rain in 2003 and it wasn't just the weather that made it memorable. It was June 5, 2003; exactly 20 years since U2 played there in exactly the same weather for their Under A Blood Red Sky concert video. You can see how bad it was for yourself as footage appears in Coldplay's Live 2003 DVD. The second is the show in Abu Dhabi back in March this year.
  17. Fresh in... August 6, 2009 - submitted by Ibrahim, United Kingdom Q. I've watched Bruno in London last weekend and Strawberry Swing's new video wasn't on the screen. Is it before the commercials before the film or was I a little impatient? The Oracle replies: Just to clarify, Strawberry Swing isn't being shown at every cinema; I also missed out seeing it at my local. To see the video on the large screen, you'd need to be at an Odeon cinema as reported by Anchorman.
  18. I wouldn't worry about being obscure, there are loads of bands out there that I know of but I haven't listened to their music.
  19. It's a completely free choice... some people pick a theme, some try to tailor it to the person who's recieving it, others just try and pick as many diverse artists or bands as possible
  20. there's no rule that says you can't repeat artists, though it might be a bit of a gamble to do all 50 mins of the same
  21. Pris tweeted them about it, I posted to the Oracle, so hopefully something will happen Don't tempt fate!!!
  22. For my friend living under the rock... Viva La Vida (presumably they won't have heard of Satriani either... unless he lives under the same rock)
