  1. Yeah, something weird has happened with the quote so it lookes like I took my parents when it's acually me just posting the Oracle's answers for yesterday...
  2. Some of us are still trying to figure the whole Twitter business out... Can you only send someone a reply if your following them and they're following you?

Welcome to the board Ah... Lhuna... that was a big old cock-up, wasn't it?

We like politeness around here, welcome!
  5. Welcome to our beautiful world :)
  6. Totally agree with LongLiveLife. Guy Garvey was speaking with Simon Mayo today and Simon asked him why so many people hate Coldplay. He replied with something like "Some people have a problem with success... but I can't understand why they'd hate a rich, talented, good-looking guy like Chris Martin who's married to a Hollywood starlet" His tongue was firmly in his cheek, but it's true that in this country we do have a "build 'em up, knock 'em down" mentality and class is still a really big issue
  7. The set was beautiful, I love the new jackets and I thought it was a nice touch to have red, white & blue butterflies as it was the "Brits"... but Chris sounded out of breath a lot of the time - maybe it was nerves. Can't be easy performing to that kind of crowd... Guy Garvey seemed to enjoy it though - there was a lovely close up of him during the performance with a big smile on his face

  10. So a week has passed since the match-ups were made and so far 10 mixes have been delivered... pretty good going considering we've all been distracted with Postcards joy/Brits fury/Warchild hoopla. A week remains to get your Mix link to me - and for those of you who have recieved your tapes, don't forget to post your review here so that your partner can then reveal their identity. One more thing... according to the tracker thingy, two participants have yet to open the mail telling then who they are to prepare a mixtape for. If you chat with any of the participants (check the 1st post for a full list), give them a nudge and ask them if they have been checking their mail... Happy listening guys!
  11. I'm not going to play this game... 1) because I'm sure Debs has got better things to do with her time 2) I'd be heartbroken to find out it didn't get there So I'm just going to think postive and assume it did arrive at the Bakery safely!
  12. I would never get my Dad to a Coldplay concert, he hates them... he'd probably get the Jay-Z thing wrong though
  13. February 20, 2009 - submitted by tomie, Canada Q. What is the name of the song in the time line- year 2002- the video "Glastonbury festival"? The Oracle replies: The first track is Politik, the first track on A Rush of Blood to the Head, which hadn't been released at that time. At the end you hear the beginning of Clocks.
  14. February 20, 2009 - submitted by Preya, United States of America Q. Hi Oracle! I was just wondering, I know that Coldplay supports Fair Trade, but are the clothing items sold on this website Fairly/Ethically traded, Sweat-shop free, or Organic? I would really like to know. Thank you The Oracle replies: The shirts are indeed Fair Trade certified.
  15. Coldplay... fun for all the family! February 20, 2009 - submitted by Deborah, Australia Q. Dear Oracle We are taking our kids (aged 13 and 9) to the Perth concert next weekend, and my daughter was wondering if the Oracle has any advice for parents not wishing to embarrass their children at the concert ..... or should the kids not just be extremely grateful they're even getting to go see Coldplay? Any handy hints would be gratefully received. The Oracle replies: Not only should they be grateful for seeing the band but they get the bonus of laughing at their parents too! Win win situation surely? I took my parents to see Coldplay in December, both turn 70 this year. I had my Pa on one side frowning at the volume of the intro music (to which he asked, "Is this Jay Zed? You don't like this do you?") And my Ma was singing her head off at the other side of me (not to Jay-Z). It was priceless so tell your children to enjoy themselves and that goes for you as parents too!
  16. The Oracle will see you now... February 20, 2009 - submitted by Ainsley, Norway Q. Hello dearest oracle :) I was wondering why there isn't a search engine for these questions? It would be easier for us to know if you've answered something before :) That would also lead to less questions of the same thing for you to read :)we would just search on something that we are curious about, and if you have not answered such a question, we could try and submit it :D xoxo -The HUGE Coldplay fan Ainsley :P The Oracle replies: Tags are the new search engines... That should help and it's nice of you to ask seeing as though someone asked me today why the band are called Coldplay... Tags baby, tags.
  17. Hurrah! Thanks to you both... you learn something new every day :smug:
  18. Apologies for going off topic and asking a really lame question - but how do you type something so that when you click on it, it takes you to another page???
  19. Thanks, Sophierose, glad to see the Coldplaying love spreading... a couple of months ago some Green Day fans came over to the board and seemed to like us too. So did Coldplay impress you as much as their fans?
  20. I hope they're not the new MGMT... I like the old one too much! Interesting band though
  21. Well then I'll take this opportunity to say, Phil, I love Guy's pink coat!
