  1. Debs is part of the Coldplay family - she doesn't "guess" a stuff like that... she only deals in facts!
  2. Priscilla (full name used for emphasis), you'd better not be cheating on the Berryman!!! Yeah, you seem to get time to do a heck of a lot of posting during the day...
  3. If he was trying to be nice, Chelsea, he'd say he visits it often, he wouldn't say he does it three times a day. And you know it yourself... this place is addictive... imagine how entertaining the fangirl threads are when you actually know the people being talked about :laugh3:
  4. That first photo of Gary in the Roadie #42 blog is lovely... he's just looking out at the crowd thinking "How did this happen?" Wonder what Robbie Williams was up to last night...
  5. It's been especially great off the back of our postcards joy a few days ago... ... what are we going to get excited about next week??? P.S Just a thought, but in case Phil is lurking ... but it would be lovely if they brought Gary back for the Manchester show in September

  7. More awesome reviews folks. I started off being really jealous this morning (actually I got really fangirly over the Gary Barlow vid, then I got really jealous)... but it's been so much fun reading your reviews, looking at your pix and watching the vids that I almost feel like I was there. And the most important thing is that some genuine fans got to go, I'm sure some people applied for the lottery who weren't particularly big fans of either band but just wanted to say they were there. Chris was right... best fans in the world!!!
  8. Well they voted for Girls Aloud ahead of Coldplay, but they didn't vote for Duffy... that was decided by "the experts"
  9. Strawberry Swing 239 - In My Place 203 +
  10. Pop is not generally crap... that's a very lazy statement. Just because you don't like a style of music, doesn't make it crap. I don't care for R & B, but I wouldn't brand it all crap... just not to my particular taste
  11. Don't apologise, we never get sick of reading this kind of thing... green with envy? yes... but bored? never!!! I just want September to be here now so I can see the band again and hopefully share the experience with some fellow Coldplayers BTW, did Ian get any other names for us after the appeal on Twitter?
  12. Great review! It's nice to see the guy appreciated Gary Barlow's appearance, 'cos I'm sure some people will have been "wtf" about him being there
  13. Apparently the traditional gift for a 6th anniversary is iron...

  15. I'm just a cynic, I guess! But seriously, it's not fair that they have a live vote on the night and not all the songs get played. Girls Aloud did have the perfect slot to showcase their nominated song - I said the same thing two years ago when Take That won for Patience, and I'm a huge Take That fan. If you're going to have a live vote for the song, either all of the acts should perform or none should.
  16. Here's an interesting one... February 19, 2009 - submitted by Hannah, United Kingdom Q. Hi Oracle! Just watching the BRITs, Coldplay were brill as usual. Just wondering, were Take That miming? xx The Oracle replies: This is Oracle vs. Anchorman. I think they were, he says not. I think I am right. I am usually aren't I? I think the first half sounded live and the second half didn't
  17. The Oracle has spoken... February 19, 2009 - submitted by Pat Corbett, Vanuatu Q. Why oh why didnt the band win a Brit award! Was gutted! The Oracle replies: Well that's the way it goes sometimes. Iron Maiden have been around for over 25 years and have a hardcore fan base that were voting for the Best Live Act category. Let's be honest, they don't get a lot of opportunity to win at the Brits so it was always gonna be tough. Plus we weren't just competing with the band, but also Eddie! Coldplay have always done so well at the Brits but this year it was someone else's turn. To see a band such as Elbow finally get some recognition was great! Duffy had an amazing year too. The Girls Aloud's single was stiff competition. As you may guess by the fact they have all been invited to perform with Coldplay on tour, they have the band's support and congratulations. It's always fantastic to win but performing, being nominated and taking part are great too.

  19. February 19, 2009 - submitted by Pedro, Trinidad and Tobago Q. Do you feel that this 60 minutes quote is accurate of Coldplay? "You won't catch this band wearing tight leather pants or snorting drugs off the back of a stripper" The Oracle replies: I laughed out loud when I heard that on the show. He's right I can't see them doing either, they're just not that sort of band! It's a sad clich though I am not sure the image of leather pants and cocaine necessarily go hand in hand, it's all very Spinal Tap! What sort of answer did he expect???
  20. Another day, another Postcards question... February 19, 2009 - submitted by Adrian, Korea North Q. Dear Oracle, I was disappointed with your handling of the young man from the UAE's request to send Coldplay a postcard. You suggested it is too late to send a the band a postcard. It certainly is not too late, it's more a question of 1. what's the address 2. will it be promptly thrown in the garbage by the support staff. Anyway, the point is that nothing is impossible. I'm surprised that you'd suggest otherwise... The Oracle replies: I tried to email you but it seems you used a false address... I'm afraid you have misunderstood. An address for sending regular mail can be found in our tags on this very Oracle section of the site. But Yusef asked specifically about a project that ended in December! That is what I replied to as you can be reminded of below. Sorry for confusion but of course anyone can write to the band although we prefer emails.
  21. Yeah, I think the beauty of Coldplay is that they don't fit in to one box - 42 is not a pop song, Strawberry Swing is not a rock song. Rock bands don't wear stage costumes, pop bands do not dabble with Delacroix. Viva la vida, vive la difference!
  22. I squeed just watching Gary Barlow sing with them on You Tube, so no!
