  1. will definitley be coming to one of their shows when they tour UK, I love the new songs that I've heard thus far especially Major Minus and Charlie Brown! I hope they visit Nottingham this time, this was somewhere that the band left out on the Viva tour. Rumour has it the UK Winter tour announcement is imminent.:D
  2. Agreed, if any song should be dropped it should be that crappy 'Life is for living' song, but with any luck that was just part of the set list for the festivals.
  3. I do think that the new songs from the MX era will appeal more to a mass audience because the style that Coldplay have adopted seems to be comparable with a lot of other music currently in the charts etc.
  4. I'm inclined to agree with this statement.
  5. Para-Para-Paradise, Para-Para-Paradise, ohhhhh ohhhhhh
  6. It is a shame that people are so critical about the new sound. It seems a bit narrow minded to think that Coldplay should only be producing a certain kind of music. They are free to experiment and personally I think if their music sounded the same as it was ten years ago you would think that they had not really improved or developed as a band. The new songs off Mylo Xyloto are great, they are cutting edge, modern and relevant. Coldplay have used their creativity to perfection.
  7. I personally am really impressed with 'Paradise' and I think that Coldplay have done the right thing about changing their direction with their music. They have allowed themselves to become more contemporary and subsequently will gain a new set of fans. Brian Eno has been Coldplay's saviour, he has made their music vibrant and colourful and I think more accessible for a lot of people. I have not read many positive comments about 'paradise' which I think is a shame, you can't blame Coldplay for wanting to produce music that is the type of genre lots of people love.
  8. I personally prefer the new era. I think that ever since Brian Eno collaborated with Coldplay on VLVODAAHF the band have gone from strength to strength. The newer Coldplay material is much more enjoyable for me, but at the same time I enjoy their classic songs.
  9. According to Billboard the dates will be announced around the time the album is released.
  10. Okay I obviously made a mistake, the prices are a lot higher than I thought
  11. You forgot to add Chinese Sleep Chant
  12. Back in 2008 the ticket prices for the London shows were approximately £40, so my guess is that this time they will be about £10 more expensive. In American currency they should cost about 75 dollars.
  13. Does anyone know when they are likely to announce UK dates for their next tour? Can't wait so see them live again and hear the new music. :)
  14. I'm wondering whether ETIAW was just a stand alone single (similar to Christmas Lights) and so won't be included on LP5.
  15. Apparently the album will be released on October 24th in the UK. I read somewhere that this is the week after Noel Gallagher's new album comes out so there will be competition. Having said that, I'm confident that Coldplay's new album will be more successful than Noel Gallagher's release.
  16. That's a shame because I was really hoping they would have released a live version of 'Charlie Brown' that I could have downloaded. Such a beautiful piece of music, probably my new favourite Coldplay song!
  17. When are they going to be releasing this EP? It seems like every other band who has performed at the iTunes festival has already released their EP with the exception of Coldplay. It's beginning to annoy, why are Coldplay any different to the other bands?

  23. I went to one of their shows in London back in December 2008, great show and it was good to get the opportunity to hear a lot of songs that I hadn't heard before off X & Y as well as the new album, since I hadn't seen them live since 2003 at Royal Albert Hall. I loved the outfits and the atmosphere and one of the songs that really stood out was 'Fix You'. I'd just like to comment on how good I thought the 'LIT' intro was, simply amazing. After this concert I was nearly tempted to go see them at Wembley, looking forward to the next album and tour but I think the Viva era has been their best by a long way.
