  1. A chef in Pennsylvania has managed to eat a burger weighing more than 20lbs, reports Sky News. Brad Sciullo, who works in an Italian restaurant, claimed that he took on the challenge because he "wanted to see if I could [do it]". He downed the burger at the Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in four hours and 39 minutes. The meal, called the Beer Barrel Belly Bruiser, includes a bun, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, banana peppers and a cup of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and relish. The burger weighs in at 15lbs (6.8kg), with toppings amounting to 5.2lbs (2.3kg). http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/odd/a133374/pennsylvanian-chef-downs-20lb-burger.html
  2. Two pigeons in Iran have been arrested on suspicion of spying. The birds were detained in Natanz, near Iran's uranium enrichment facility, a location at the centre of tension between Tehran and Western powers. It is not yet known if they have been freed or are still incarcerated. According to the AFP, both pigeons had "metal rings" and "invisible strings" on their bodies. Iran has a history of suspecting animals of espionage. In July last year, 14 squirrels were detained on the country's border for spying. Military pigeons were deployed by Britain during the Second World War to carry messages. 32 birds were awarded the Dickin Medal, the highest possible honour for an animal, for services during the 1939-1945 conflict. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/odd/a133292/pigeons-arrested-in-iran-for-spying.html
  3. A naked man was freed from the chimney of a Tesco store before being arrested on suspicion of burglary. Greater Manchester Police were called to the store in the Pemberton area of Wigan this morning. Firefighters freed the naked man from the chimney and he was taken by police to hospital, reports Reuters. After being discharged from medical care, the 22-year-old was taken into police custody. Of the man's state of undress, a police spokesman commented: "It is believed some of his clothes came off as a result of him struggling to get out of the chimney." http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/odd/a133411/naked-man-freed-from-tesco-chimney.html
