Ian Brown/Stone Roses
Well yeah, Mani's a legend. Has Squire still got it tho, that's the question...

Ian Brown/Stone Roses
haha The Coral :P  nah, idk best band ever? impossible question really. Anyway, on these reforming rumours - I've got mixed feelings about it really :\On the one hand I'd love it to happen - it'd be the gig of the century. On the other hand, they've spend 15 years saying "it'll never happen", so it feels a bit like they're selling out a little. John Squire had lots to say against it just a few months ago - & I quote -- "... the idea of bands reforming for a cash windfall is tragic." He's also said in the past, that decimating the memory of the Roses wasn't something he'd ever be interested in. And I kind of agree with that sentiment a bit, it's like some brilliant, cult movie from 20 years ago or something and then some idiot comes along with a naff sequel and completely fucks it over and makes it all commercial. So it could be a huge gamble really, they've got to do it properly and they've got to want to do it for the music or the fans or the sheer enjoyment of the thing, rather than being in it for the money. Anyway, having said all that I'd still sell a kidney to get a ticket. If it happens, I'd fucking murder someone to be there

Frank Turner
Been enjoying England Keep My Bones, it's a really good album. Need to invest in his other albums now.

Noel Gallagher
The stuff he comes out with.... always cracks me up  In a word, yes. I've never been much of an Oasis fan either, apart from the really early stuff. It's mostly cos I can't stand Liam or his singing voice. But the High Flying Birds stuff is pure Noel; it's like creaming off some of the best bits of Oasis, adding in a dash of maturity and losing all the nonsense and tabloid antics. Personally, I think it's the best thing he's ever put his name to since The Masterplan. :smug:

Noel Gallagher
My faves are Dream On, If I Had a Gun and Wrong Beach.... and What A Life, but I've already heard that one quite a bit. Also I love the wig out bit at the end of Stop the Clocks - it's brilliant :cheesy:

Is the stream still active? Or is it over now... the rip I downloaded isn't very good quality, the sound goes all quiet on a bunch of the tracks  so I'd rather rip myself a better version...

I take it we can vote for the Tron soundtrack? Released 3rd December 2010 so it's just inside the release-time window according to the rules yay  I never did get round to buying it but I listened to it on spotify a helluva lot last winter. 'S a good album.

2011 Albums Worth Listening To
Oh, I'm the other way round with the Arctic Monkeys, I've never been much of a fan of theirs, had two of the previous albums but only really liked the odd few songs. Then I heard Suck It & See, not expecting much from it, but ended up really enjoying it and playing it a hellova lot. One thing I didn't like about their older stuff is the vast amount of words Alex Turner tries to cram into every song, it's clever stuff but he overdoes it sometimes. SIAS is a bit lighter of the lyrics imo, so I think it works better. And yes, the Frank Turner LP is very good, he's another one that's good at lyrical wordplay

So Does Anyone Want an Albums of the Year Poll This Year?
Yes. We have to do this, it's like a WoM tradition! I've already got my top three sussed out :awesome: On the MX thing, wasn't Viva La Vida kind of exempt last time. Didn't we have two numbers ones that year...? edit: found the 2008 thread Seldom Seen Kid was number 1, Viva was the absolute king tho. I say we work it like that again, have a Coldplay free top ten (altho with all the MX hate, it might not be necessary ;) )

Kasabian
The full show's on Friday night at ten to midnight, I would have though they'll show at least one other Kasabian song then, maybe two. Re-wired'd be nice :awesome: edit: woah, I spoke to soon. They're playing out the show with Velociraptor hehehe HE'S GUNNA FIND YA HE'S GUNNA KILL YA  Tom's on top form. haha I bet the other acts in the studio are wondering what the fuck they're smoking
