Yes I concur with the praise about the album and single artwork. They are stunning! I´ve listened to Magic about 10 times today and it has a sweet happy vibe. It IS a simple song, but then again not all songs need to be layered, obscure or deep. It´s nice with some levity here and there.

I agree with people saying this is not as "magical" as midnight at all, but then again Magic is intentionally carrying a totally different vibe, a chill relaxed vibe. And it does its job very well. Also the bass line, people! It´s AMAZINGLY addictive! And may we also stop a moment to celebrate Johnny´s guitar chiming in at around 2:55 as well as that acoustic guitar wonder kicking in at around 3:15. I am overall quite pleased! Can´t wait for March 11 iTunes Festival, where we might hear more songs from Ghost Stories :)

I fell in love with Midnight from first listen. It´s a magical track indeed, but then again I do love that kind of Sigur Ros-like style, so I was thrilled to hear my favourite band giving their contribution to that genre. Ghost Stories is looking to be yet another totally different album, which makes me very happy indeed!

I want to thank MX&Yellow for the lovely package I received today! Besides Christmas wishes and a cute picture of our 4 guys with Santa hats, the package contained confetti from two concert venues: Zurich and Stade De France. The latter I actually attended and at the time I was a bit sad I did not remember to collect confetti, so thank you for bringing them to me! Such a lovely memory from my best gig ever! Also I hope my Secret Santa has arrived at destination. I have not kept up-to-date with this thread I am afraid so I don´t know, but I sent it mid December.

Wow is it already that time of year? This tradition is just wonderful and I look forward to it EVERY year! Coldplayers are also amongst the most creative card writers I´ve seen, so receiving that greeting is always an highlight of my christmas and I enjoy sending special cards to others as well, so I say BRING IT ON! :) As for my preference, I can send anywhere in the world as our postal system is made in such a way that the cost difference between one continent or another is really minimal.

I have listened to Atlas a million times, but now it does not seem to have the same longevity as other Coldplay songs, like I tire of it more easily than others...anyone else experiencing this? :O I preface that I really love the song though!

Adventurous meaning they are going to go with something fresh. We can be sure of that! What that will actually mean is yet to be seen. It could very well mean acoustic, although even if they decided something 100% low key for LP6 I don´t see that continuing in the future as it is plain to see they have way too much fun playing at stadiums, so my best bet would be a continued combination of low-key acoustics/classic and new sound experimentation :) Also I am under the impression that the earlier albums were not really what they wanted to sound like, but they did not have the confidence to really be bold, which they have clearly achieved with MX. Now they are totally free to do whatever they want :)

But don´t get me thinking about Buckland that way or well I won´t do anything else all day LOL And yes he is getting more and more confident at his solos and I just love how he his guitar has such an uplifting chiming sound. I would go on record saying I don´t think any Jonny solo can actually be too long! Look forward to more Jonny on LP6 If you actually did bake a cake and your husband ended up eating it, I can only say he has mastered the art of manipulation in your marriage! LOL :)

Yes his solo is TOO short it almost makes me mad! hehe Jonny truly has a magic touch and I wish he had contributed a longer part to Atlas, but generally I just think the song is too short or maybe I like it so much I wish it lasted longer :) Oh dear do jukeboxes still exist?? I had no idea. How cool :) Go sweden!!! Denmark has given it a #8 place so far, so at least it has entered the top ten :D

Just bought it on the danish iTunes. And I also saw the gorgeous lyrics video! The song is beautiful, no doubt! I just with it had been longer and the chorus more developed. Every time I listen to it, it leaves me wanting for more. It will surely sound perfect and work beautifully in the movie. Also Jonny´s guitar part WAY too short for my taste! :)

I just heard the song. It´s classic Coldplay, incredibly well-crafted and have you tearing up already by the first chorus! I could not give it a 10 because it is simply too short, but it fits the movie perfectly and it is just gorgeous. Would I want an LP6 ONLY filled with songs like this? Probably not but I think they have shown incredible diversity in MX: a band that can write both a wonderful hip-hoppish song and a quiet diamond like Atlas is a true artistic band, as we all know Coldplay to be :)

Knowing both the books very well and the first movie, I can tell you the song fits perfectly both with the thematic and the tone of the movie, so watching the movie would only enhance appreciation of the song in my opinion.

Ok damn I found a stream online and I am listening to it now....*tears streaming* It´s gorgeous but way way too short! This should be 6 minutes long !

So dutch radio has already played Atlas? Was that intended at all? Well I don´t complain. I don´t see why we should wait for americans to wake up before listening to the song ourselves :P The ALT 98 stream is not the complete song though, just another teaser :(

So I have decided to wait until radio premiere this evening, before listening to the song in its entirety. I enjoy reading your comments though :) It seems like a lot of you like the song and it sounds like it is vintage Coldplay, however I would not take that as an indication of the direction coldplay will take with LP6. After all Atlas is completely unrelated to their album and it has been crafted especially for Hunger Games, so it can also sonically match the tone of the movie.
