  1. Good morning Coldplayers! A few thoughts 1- it's so nice to see the forum come alive with exciting posts and less bickering. Finally the frustration we all felt in the past weeks seems to be wearing out. Let the fun begin! 2- MX will definitely be a concept album and I am unsure whether they broke the 42 minutes rule. A part of me wish they did, cuz Viva is a bit too short but then I don't want MX to be long in the boring kinda way so I'm torn. But I do hope it's gonna be long and wonderful at the time. 3- The ending of the concept story will be a good one I think because of songs like A hopeful transmission and U.F.O which come after the villain part. We already know the u.f.o. are the good guys (light blinking into to tell me it's alright) so I think the ending song up with the birds might maybe refer to the protagonists being whisked away by the good aliens , maybe to the Paradise the girl dreamed of? Something like that :) 4- I have a feeling a lot of people might re-think Every Tear when its heard in the proper context and sequence of the album. I'm actually thinking that the EP release was not random after all. Maybe Coldplay wanted to introduce us the good and bad guys in two representative songs of the two parts of MX
  2. Yes and no. Most artists release one or two singles prior to an album release. MX will have had 3 single releases and if that´s not enough, Every Tear was released as digital first and as physical and digital EP afterwards . (maybe Paradise will follow the same release plan) I find it hard to believe that this was not a campaign aimed to milk as much as possible from MX era...sadly enough it all comes down to profits.
  3. Definitely not the only one. I always thought it was going to be and am happy that it is on the album. :) Together with Major Minus!
  4. Does anyone else see the sixth symbol ,M.M.I.X, as an I and an X superimposed? Or am I just tired? I need to know....
  5. Yes you need MX in your hands! hehe BTW I concur with everything you said.
  6. Because "Lost" or "Reign Of Love" or "Strawberry Swing" were not cheesy titles? :) I think what some see as cheesy, some others see as emotional beautiful songs :)
  7. Does anyone else see the sixth symbol ,M.M.I.X, as an I and an X superimposed? Or am I just tired? :)
  8. Really hard to say whether that would have been a good decision or not, as we know nothing about the flow of the album yet and how the songs fit together.
  9. *aims* :bomb:
  10. The fact that they have included so many tracks indicates to me that they are really going all out for the big "career-defining" album this time around. With what they have learnt from Viva, I have confidence this will be their epic masterpiece :)
  11. One more reason, should there be need for it, to buy the limited edition :sneaky:
  12. I can see why that might be puzzling. MX will have had 3 singles released and multiple tracks played live BEFORE release date. I can only assume it´s part of the new advertising strategy outlined in the Billboard article
  13. Yeah : see my previous post. I am glad someone else thought of this
  14. I will try my best to only listen to the songs as intended for me to listen, that is Paradise. The other 3 are really only intended for those attending the live gigs :) I will have to repeat that to myself again and again... hehe
  15. I must admit I often find myself popping Prospekt´s March in the cd player, just after Viva as when Viva is over, I just want MORE! :) So I guess length is not always a bad thing: it all depends how everything is strung together
  16. Well we can take a sandwich break just after Every Tear if it gets too long...worked well on X&Y for me :)
  17. I don´t think it´s roman numeral, otherwise it would be written MMIX, not M.M.I.X. I think it´s another cryptic acronym...
  18. Did you actually think X&Y was sloppy as soon as it came out? I actually thought it was the best thing I had ever heard, until Viva came out and in retrospective put X&Y in a weaker position...
  19. I must agree. After all spanish rain was intimately connected with VLV and the south american influence....now we have moved on to New York and graffiti :)
  20. Anyone else thinks M.M.I.X. does not stand for roman numerals? After all, if it is roman numerals, why the punctuation? I think it might be a new acronym of sorts. And I do not think DLIBYH is a cheesy title. Maybe by itself, but I think in the context of the album it might actually be very emotional...After all my heart would be breaking if everything just went up in flames :)
  21. I thought that but was afraid to voice it...I am not too fond of sad endings, but somehow I think this album will end on a positive note (pun intended), as Viva did!
  22. Yeah I love how everything in this era is cryptic and mysterious and so colorful! Now I feel just about nothing can ruin the MX era! (as long as I stay away from the coming live shows hehe)
  23. I agree, but that what they are doing.
  24. I totally agree. But I think people might be upset MTM is not on the album, because it loses its status as an A-song and apparently that´s how a lot of people see the song, while the band clearly disagrees as they left it only as a b-side.
  25. Yeah it´s so crazy right? That would be 16 songs! I like how Coldplay make the rules and then break them hehe
