Urgently wanted: Dutch hardcore Coldplay fans
Hi folks. I'm posting this message to represent the Dutch Coldplay fansite http://www.coldplayfans.nl We have been approached by a Dutch TV programme concerning 'Clocks' making the Top 10 of the annual NPS Radio 2 Top 2000 chart. The NPS people are desperately searching for hardcore Dutch Coldplay fans who'd like to express their adoration for the band for a special feature in a TV programme, preferably in a Coldplay-kind of environment (ie. a bedroom with several posters of the band, plus a fairly large record collection). Or perhaps fans who are able to play (and/or sing) any of the band's songs on piano/guitar. We haven't been able to find the 'ideal' Coldplay fan yet though, and time is running out fast. Are you from the Netherlands, and would YOU like to participate? Please don't hesitate to e-mail me a.s.a.p. (preferably TODAY) and I'll make sure the NPS will be in contact with you soon. Don't forget to include your name + telephone number. [email protected]

Radiohead
No, probably because: a) Radiohead only play a couple of festivals every now and then (they decline a lot, like Glastonbury next year), whereas Muse play just about every big summerfestival spread over two years of time to promote their albums to the max. Radiohead are not like that. They prefer to play to fans, but do get a kick out of playing to a massively packed festival field every once in a while; b) Radiohead are a more expensive live act than Muse

Radiohead
Nah, Muse just tend to play festivals more often. For the record, out of the 10x I've seen Muse I've only seen them at an actual venue twice. 8x were festival appearances. Whereas only 2x out of 8x Radiohead were festival appearances ;)

Radiohead
Muse: 10x Radiohead: 8x (though I'm sure I'll surpass the 10x boundary next year)

Radiohead
How can Muse possibly be 'miles ahead of Radiohead'? They're a totally different band with an utter different 'sound'. Sure, Showbiz kinda ripped off the likes of OK Computer in its day, but nowadays Muse are way too bombastic to be compared to Radiohead whatsoever. I agree that Muse are a brilliant live band, but I'm sorry... cannot be compared. Not anymore. P.s. Radiohead > Muse :P (and I know, I have a Matt Bellamy avatar.. so meh)

I'm in a very bad zone right now. I was planning on attending the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium on 3-4-5-6 July, and the announcement that none other than RADIOHEAD as the first headliner confirmed to play was obviously AMAZING news to me. However, two days ago two of my dearest friends announced that they were engaged to marry. Brilliant news ofcourse. I was really happy to hear that. But after asking what the planned wedding date was going to be, they replied: July 4! How convenient... OK, alright, relax, chill out RadioMad... I mean, there's still a 66,6% shot that Radiohead would be playing either July 5 or July 6, right? Even MORE convenient: today, a new tourdate has been announced: Thu 3 Roskilde Festival - Roskilde, Denmark ON SALE NOW ??? ?? Rock Werchter Festival - Werchter, Belgium ??? ?? Main Square Festival - Arras, France Tue 8 Wuhlheide, Berlin ON SALE NOW This year, the Main Square Festival was held on friday June 29 and saturday June 30. So I guess it's pretty obvious that they will play Rock Werchter on Fri 4, and Main Square on Sat 5. ... which means, right, I'll probably have to KILL my friends!!! :(

Do you think Coldplays new LP4will be better than radioheads OK Computer
No, I really don't think so. OK Computer remains the best album I have ever heard, and with Chris' recent dire collaborations with hip hop/r&b artists like Jay-Z, Kanye West, Timbaland and Nelly Furtado I honestly am becoming a bit scared of what the next Coldplay album might sound like. Bring back the indie Coldplay!!!

Snow Patrol are poised to eclipse Coldplay as pop's greatest anthem-makers.
It's not hardly a secret that OK Computer inspired Coldplay's Parachutes, Muse's Showbiz, etc. Not that Coldplay and Muse copied Radiohead's sound, but there's definitely an influence knowledgeable.

Snow Patrol are poised to eclipse Coldplay as pop's greatest anthem-makers.
Snow Patrol are a good singles band, but they haven't made a brilliant album just yet. Plus, Gary Lightbody isn't a very good singer to be honest.

Nicole Scherzinger: I need to work with Chris Martin
I remember when Pussycat Dolls started out Scherzinger told the press that she has a secret crush on Chris. So it's not about the music. She just wants to 'get it on'.

Radiohead
It's hard to rank my favourite RH albums in order, but here goes... 1. OK Computer (their ultimate classic; my #1 album of all-time) 10/10 2. Kid A (perfect from beginning to end) 10/10 3. In Rainbows (again, perfect from beginning to end... It's really, really great) 9.5/10 4. The Bends (their most brilliant pop album) 9.5.10 5. Hail To The Thief (all ace tunes, but doesn't 'flow' well) 9.10 6. Amnesiac (terrific Kid A twin, but some tracks are just a waste of space > Hunting Bears, The Morning Bell/Amnesiac, Pulk/Pull...) 8.5/10 7. Pablo Honey (good, for what it's worth) 7/10

Radiohead
Well, they're planning them right now. I'm pretty sure the first batch will be announced late this year, wherever that may be (probably US)

***The official "Editors" thread***
Hmm... last time I went to see Editors it was very hard for me to make decent pictures because the band like their stage presence to be somewhat dark-ish. This is one I took last year, at the Rock Werchter festival. I even framed it and put it on my 'Wall of Fame' :P
-
Radiohead
Doesn't 'seem' as long when pre-sales start in january (or so)
-
Patrick Watson
Ha! I was there!
-
***The official "Editors" thread***
Me too! Well, actually only 9 days. Seventh time I'll be seeing them.
-
What artist can't you stop listening to today?
Bruce Springsteen/E-Street Band... cuz I've just bought a ticket to see them next month!
-
Who's the best band out there?? (Besides Coldplay, of course)
Radiohead And I'm sure many will agree.

Takk vs. My Iron Lung
Make sure to bring enough money next time and buy BOTH. It's INSANE having to choose between those two.
