I love it. I love both Life in Technicolor and this. Death And All His Friends/The Escapist makes for one of Coldplay's most epic moments, ever. Period.

le voyage du ballon rouge (flight of the red balloon) - 4 out of 5... very slow. no dialogue was written - all of what is said is completely improvised. somehow, though, you end up entranced in the life of this stressed-out french woman, her young son and his taiwanese filmmaking childminder. really good.

they really ought to get it out soon - seeing as the song hit number one in the usa and the uk. i'm a bit ashamed to be an australian at the moment....viva la vida (the single) only managed number two here...it's behind jordan sparks and chris brown, "no air"....*pukes*

i think it was the triple j hottest 100, volume 15.....viva la vida was given to me as a present!

Travis are amazing! It was actually my Mum who bought the album "The Man Who"...I discovered it later and realised how good they were! Favourite song - Follow the Light, although I definitely rate Driftwood, Safe and Flowers in the Window as well...

Ok, so what's the consensus on this bi-curious offering from Ms. Katy Perry? It's not exactly award-winning lyricism, but it's pretty funny. And fun to bop along to. People are saying it's offensive and disgusting, which I guess is pretty offensive and disgusting in itself...aren't we meant to be PC and accepting these days? haha.... :P lol...anyway, what are your thoughts? Or are we Coldplayers above this mainstreamy music?

You're definitely onto something there. Although I must admit: 1) - I do share the view that the closing song is, in some sense, "uplifting" and therefore could fit into the category of "Viva La Vida" even though the title itself is "Death and All His Friends" 2) - Coldplay is rather melancholic, even at its more upbeat moments. It's funny, a lot of Coldplay's music (generally, but particularly on this album) can make you feel happy and sad at the same time.
