  1. I RAN AWAY FROM YOU!!!!! IT'S ALL I EVER DO!!!!
  2. Thank you, the-scientist, you are so kind.
  3. I don't suppose it could be ...witches are in the Seine...? I know the Seine River is not in England, but if the story of this song includes the "ghost towns in the ocean" it's only another hop over into France. Maybe not. But I agree that it doesn't sound exactly like "witches in the saying". I can't tie this song together for the life of me. First there is the people who "go walking". Who are they? Then there are witches and ghosts. Then God comes into the picture. I don't get it. But this song has become my favorite Coldplay song.
  4. It's Sting - Consider Me Gone An easier one then: I took the money, I spiked your drink, You miss too much these days if you stop to think,
  5. I Shot the Sheriff How would you describe yourself to other people?
  6. 1. Hearing Clocks on the radio and thinking, "It sounds good but it's a little simple. Not like the music from the good old days". 2. no 3a. Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends 3b. Cemeteries of London 3c. The Hardest Part 4. I have nothing. 5. I played "White Shadows" over the PA at halftime at my son's high school basketball game. (I volunteer as the PA announcer at the high school.) 5.
  7. I knew there would be someone else out there who did that! Yeah, Talk ROCKS! Which do you you like the album version or the other. I like the other version that doesn't slow down. While Chris is singing the chorus - "So you don't know where you're going but you wanna talk..." I am air-guitaring THE HELL out of the guitar part!!!!! :guitarist:
  8. coldplay - such a rush There were rooms of forgiveness, In the house that we shared, But this space has been emptied, Of whatever was there, There were cupboards of patience, There were shelfloads of care, But whoever came calling, Found nobody there,
  9. I have a full attic but I rarely go up there. Tnp believes in ghosts.
  10. Whenever I hear this I get a vision of what the piano solo might look like on a video. As the song furiously comes to a halt, suddenly you see Chris, all alone, in a huge, old, dark mansion. There is moonlight coming in a window, illuminating Chris. He's standing in front of an old Grandfather clock. Chris reverently turns the minute hand of the clock until the clock strikes midnight. Then you hear the two lines of the piano solo as if they were the chimes of the clock. Chris closes the clock face. End of video. Do you like? That's just something I imagined the first time I heard the song. I wanted to share it. Thanks!
  11. Kenny Loggins Heart w/Mr. Mister U2 (Joshua Tree) Sting (Nothing Like the Sun...) Midnight Oil (Blue Sky Mining) Ray Charles Sting (Sacred Love) Sting (Broken Music) Los Lobos The Police reunion tour
  12. Hellboy II 7/10 Pretty good.... One of those rare sequels that are better than the first movie.
  13. Band on the Run - Wings Where will you be 5 years from now?
  14. Sorry Claudia, I didn't happen to look at the other thread because I'm not really seeing the House of the Rising Sun thing the other person was talking about. Then again, I only have a passing knowledge of that particular song. But, on the bright side, it appears as if great minds think alike.;)
  15. EL-E-VA-TION! WHHOOHOO!! I can't hear that song without thinking of Angelina Jolie which is not a bad thing at all if you get it... ROWR! In the basement bars, In the battle cars, Be cool or be cast out.
  16. Take it, to the limit, one more time. What are you going to do tomorrow?
  17. 8 It takes balls to do a cover of "Cars" by Gary Nuburg. (sp?) The Police
  18. (to my son in the living room as I made him a calzone in the kitchen) "Check the tv and see if "Hot Fuzz" is on anywhere tonight.... No? Well it should be."
  19. Um, 5? It sounds almost Country-tinged through the verses and I'm not sure a laid-back approach is best for this song. But it does pick up a bit at the 3:25 mark so I gave it a higher rating than I was going to. Overall, I'd say Viva La Vida deserves a bit more energy. U2 - New York
  20. Wonderwall - Oasis You say I'm a fool, You say I'm not for you, But if I'm a fool for you, oh, that's something,

I would say listening to music from a genre of a culture a person doesn't like is a very good way to break through stereotypes about that culture. But it can be a tough sell because a person's feelings of hate for a group usually carry over to that group's music as well. They are often not willing to give that music a chance. It almost has to happen by accident or a sneak approach. So I would say Marley's idea can work, but it has to be a powerful work of music to transcend cultures traditionally in conflict.
  22. "Joy to the World" (Jeremiah was a Bullfrog) by Three Dog Night. A particularly silly song to be born under, methinks. Oh, yeah... it was May 12, 1971 I do, however, enjoy "Mama Told Me Not to Come" by the same group. I always thought it sounded like a song that Flava Flav might cover. Call me crazy. :rolleyes4:
  23. Hey, wait a minute, wasn't there another question after TNP likes Coldplay? I answered the wrong question! I like Coldplay! I do! I doIdoIdo!!!! :bigcry: Sorry about that... snow angels over lemonade? Hmm...yeah, snow angels are better. same
  24. no tnp thinks Autumn is the best time of the year.
  25. My wife never wants to shop. I'll get the urge to shop sometimes and suggest that we shop and she'll say, "I'm just not in the mood to shop. Maybe tomorrow we'll shop". And then I get frustrated. "Other couples shop all the time", I say. "Back when we first got married you wanted to shop almost every day". But nothing moves her - no shopping. Then I get really frustrated and say, "Y,know maybe I ought to just go shopping by myself! Would you like that? Or maybe, just maybe, I'll find some other women to shop with!! You're just lucky I don't do that!!!! Oh, wait........ I MEAN HAVE SEX!! Sorry.:D
