The 5th Mixtape Exchange (Tapes In First Post)
I followed the last few exchanges and always thought this is pretty exciting and interesting. Strangely enough, I never got to participate. That's why I guess you can count me in this time. :)

@Kimmi: I agree. Jonny and Tom really look different than in those pics. And I'm sure you'll find some nicer ones out there somewhere... Have you already checked Bradley's gallery? Or the SP.com gallery in general? :) And, if everything fails: There's always Bianca, she's the photo-queen! :D That's probably the best performance of "Run" they ever did! :cheesy: It still gives me goosebumps all over whenever I listen to/watch it again. :) I listened to the whole gig on the radio that night and the whole gig was absolutely outstanding! You could already feel the crowd's vibe and the boys' energy and happiness just by listening to it! They were obviously totally overwhelmed by what happened that night and one can really see and hear how much they enjoyed themselves. Such a legendary performance. :) I also loved their covers of Wonderwall & Champagne Supernova. Just in case someone's missed them: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2eo4023oqg&feature=related]YouTube- Snow Patrol - Wonderwall - V Festival 2009[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBcEXd8Hia0&feature=related]YouTube- Snow Patrol - Champagne Supernova - V Festival 2009[/ame]

Ah, come on Jen, that's not true! You're always a great help, too! :) But thanks anyway. And the two songs Kimmi mentioned, "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again" and "When You're Right, You're Right (Darth Vader Bringing In His Washing Mix)". They're both on their first album "Songs for Polarbears". ;) It's a great album, I just recently got more and more into it. :cheesy: If you have a chance, get your hands on the first two albums, I'm sure you'll find some gems on them. :) @Kimmi: I think the "Gary board" Meredith was talking about is our cozy little Gary group. :D @HBK-79: Great idea to get "Up to now", I'm sure you won't regret it. :) @muzika: It's so nice to hear that! :) Those guys and their music have something magical on them that simply makes you love them.

Show Off "Your" Coldplay!
Yes, but it still shows your fancy for quotes of any kind. :P:lol: It was scarlet? YEEES, I really am THAT good! Getting better and better, eh?
-
Show Off "Your" Coldplay!
And oh, here we go again... Another quote.:lol: By the way: So, which colour does the beanie have? I'd really like to know whether I can actually rely on my memory once in a while.
-
Show Off "Your" Coldplay!
Oh no, please! I wouldn't survive that, I think. :stunned: Then I guess it'd be better if I shut up and keep my thought (or better: YOUR thoughts ) for myself. And about the beanie... I guess it's either scarlet or black? My memory's somehow letting me slightly down again... @Nicole: Haha. Na ja, es ist ja auch nicht für dich, sondern für AJ. Und die wird's bestimmt mögen. Ich mein, allein bei dem vielen Glitzer. Wenn das mal nicht Argument genug ist.

Show Off "Your" Coldplay!
Yeah, the thing is, I don't know... Because, you know, obviously there's no one AS close to my insanity as you. Seriously. Haha, I wonder how long you'll be able to keep that promise. I'll give you, let's say, one day. Then it'll probably be happened again. @Nicole: Herauslaufendes Blut?! :stunned: Oh stimmt. Siehste, das hatte ich jetzt gar nicht so interpretiert... Sah das mehr als "künstlerische Freiheit" (oder so). Aber stimmt, jetzt, wo du's sagst... Ist aber trotzdem noch sehr girly. ;)

Show Off "Your" Coldplay!
Well, then I guess keep coming up with new insane ideas seems like the better way to handle this "disease". (You know what? I didn't even see your post and I was just about to post that when I scrolled down and just thought: 'Hang on, somebody's already posted EXACTLY what I wanted to say...!' And then I checked it up and of course it was you. Who else? I wonder why I even had to think about that for one second...:lol:) Edit: Oh, Nicole, that's beautiful! I like the colours. I'm sure she'll like it. :) Tried to keep it very "girly", eh? With tons of glitter...? ;)

Show Off "Your" Coldplay!
You know what? I was just going to say exactly that. (:dozey: Oh dear, there's no serious help for us, is there? :P:lol:) Anyway, lovinchris42, I really like that bulletin board! It looks very lovely indeed! And I think it's a very cute idea, with all those lyrics and stuff. :cheesy: It's also a very nice idea to let the boys share a bit of their space with Gary. :nice:

The Snow Patrol Thread
Just found these two seemingly brandnew videos: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1ifWknBABc]YouTube- Snow Patrol - Interview (Vic Galloway Show 2010)[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ni8epiTnXrY]YouTube- Snow Patrol - Give Me Strength (acoustic)[/ame] What I found most interesting were the facts about Gary's two projects! I'm already starting to get SO excited! Both ideas/projects sound great and I'm especially looking forward to the Tired Pony album as I really found a liking for the country-touch of the reworked songs. :) So, I take it that Gary's in Portland right now...? Can't wait for the records to be released, really. :) And an acoustic version of "Give me strength"! :cheesy: :bomb: :dead: I'd better be careful with watching that one because, let's just say that it always makes me feel a wee bit overemotional...:lol:

Oh dear, that video is just E.P.I.C.! It SO cracked me up the first time I saw it! I absolutely love Gary's reaction, it's priceless. Plus, I love Gary's Dr. Seuss T-Shirt (for some unknown reasons...:cheesy:).

Kimmi, thanks a lot for posting the download link! To be honest, I've already discovered that bootleg some weeks ago, but the thought of posting it on here somehow didn't cross my mind, probably because I knew that most of you guys are registered over there anyway which is why I thought you'd discovered it by yourself already... So sorry if I was mistaken. I'm awfully sorry now and feel pretty stupid. :embarassed: Speaking of that bootleg: I absolutely LOVE it! I couldn't stop listening to it for days after I'd found it and it makes me shiver and astonished everytime I listen to it. Simply because it brings all the memories of the gig from the 23rd back. I'm so so glad that someone recorded it, so we're able to listen to all the beautiful reworked versions. My favourites are "Crack the shutters" (now that was obvious :cheesy:), "Cartwheels", "Set the fire to the third bar" and "One day like this". It's a pity they didn't play "Starfighter Pilot" that night as that was one of my favourites of the other night. :) Guess the show on the 23rd should have been recorded instead (yeah, I wish...). I'm also very happy about the fact that they didn't cut Gary's banter out of it. It's just TOO hilarious! How he's been mocking those two people who were delayed... :laugh3: And when he shouts out to his mum... And when he says that he's so nervous and therefore afraid of accidently setting the Royal Albert Hall on fire... "Remember that band Snow Patrol? They burned down the Royal Albert Hall... They're all dead now." Sooo absolutely random but I just love it! :cheesy: Haha, the bit with the whistling... I guess he shouldn't have encouraged the people to do that. :laugh3: Oooh, and the (by now) infamous proposal is on it as well... Priceless.

Do you like jude law?
I have to admit that I've fallen for him as well... But only since I've seen him starring in Hamlet in London this year. I'd hardly paid any attention to him before that, but after having witnessed his outstanding talent in that play, I was totally bewitched and convinced that this guy's actually got talent! ;) I've watched some of his movies (The Holiday, Alfie, Closer, ...) in the meanwhile and they only added to my high opinion of his acting skills. Plus, he indeed is one pretty handsome guy and his accent's absolutely beautiful. :cheesy: So, I must say that I'm pretty much looking forward to the new Sherlock Holmes movie... :)

The Snow Patrol Thread
Hi there and welcome to our cozy little group! :D First of all: I think it's a very good decision to get one of their albums, I'm sure you won't regret it as all of their albums are awesome in their own way. :) As for the beginning, I think the idea of buying "Up to now" is very wise as there are loads of songs on the 2 CDs which makes it easier to get an overall impression of their music as there's a very nice mix of older and newer songs on them. :) If it's a matter of price (for I assume the compilation might be a bit more expensive), I think "Eyes Open" is a good way to start with as well as at least I think it's the album that makes their music most "accessible" to the listener. :) I hope I could help you and good luck with the shopping! Feel free to tell us your opinion about the album you bought afterwards, I'd be very interested to read what you think about it. :)

Snow Patrol 'want to be as successful as Coldplay'
A bit of a drastic title for an article, isn't it? I believe I heard Gary saying something like that some time this year, but not in that way... I think I remember the way he said it was different and I guess it just got a tad misinterpreted... Anyway... I (obviously) love Snow Patrol to bits and can't get enough of them, so the more success they have and the more lovely tunes they create, the better... ;)

Post Your Coldplay Siggys and Avatars!
Yep, not because of Gary. It isn't always AS easy to see through me as you might think. :smug: (At least not this time.:lol:) World of Warcraft? No way. But it's quite late already, you know, that could explain that... :P And yes, it worked out properly well indeed, so no worries. :)

Post Your Coldplay Siggys and Avatars!
Bianca love, the stuff looks absolutely fantastic - and I know I say that like all of the time. But it's the truth. Full stop. :smug: I especially like the one for Jojo. It looks so sunny, I don't know. :cheesy: And, of course, how could I not love Jen's wallpaper? ;) It's b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l.! Not even because of Gary (there, I said it!) but because of Chris. I really like that photo. And the effect creates something like a total "Wow factor" (can't explain that, I hope you know what I mean). :)

Could you mean this article by any chance? I read that one today and thought it's excellently written and very informative, I really enjoyed reading it. :) @Meredith: You should definitely go and get it yourself, it's wort it. I promise. :)

Aww Giulia, those are gorgeous! I especially like the one of Guy! :wideeyed: However, they're of course not AS beautiful as my Gary-one, you know... :smug::D Again: Thank you so much for it, it was a very cute idea!

Music you discovered/listened to for the first time/began to like a lot more in 2009?
^^ I totally second that! Snow Patrol are my musical "discovery" of 2009 and generally my band of 2009. :) Of course I'd known them before but the spark just never really ignited - "Chasing Cars" simply didn't hook me. ;) It was only earlier this year when I gave their new album a chance and then decided to see them live... And that was the beginning of a big lovestory... :D Athlete I'd never heard of them before until I read they'd be the support act of Keane in August. So I checked them out and liked their songs immediately. They were also really great live, one of the best support acts I've had so far and I already count them to my favourite bands now. :) Biffy Clyro Doves Elbow The Killers Muse Thirteen Senses White Lies

19-Dec-2009: Exeter Castle, Exeter, UK - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews/Photos
Karen, thanks a lot for the detailed review, it was a nice read and I could feel your excitement through your words! :) I can only say it again: You're such a lucky fellow! Getting tickets for such an intimate gig, having a great time with lovely Coldplayers, meeting and talking with Chris & Guy and then ending up at the front - this really sounds like an absolutely PERFECT day to me! :D And I can totally imagine how surreal this must feel! :) I'm really happy for you that you were able to experience something like that!
