  1. I chose VLV as well, simply because I love each song on it! :) On the other albums, there's usually at least one song which doesn't touch me like the way the others do. ;) Yeah, that's my explanation for it and I actually hope that it makes any sense at all. :laugh3:
  2. I'll be at their gig in Munich. :) I wish I could see them in Cologne or Berlin as well, but as it's during the week there's no chance for me to travel THAT far... :\

  5. @darkchoc92: Thanks for posting! :) I've already seen a video of Perfect Symmetry, it was so touching! Feel free to tell us a bit more about their forum gig, I'd love to read a bit more about it. :) I bought the album yesterday and I already love it A LOT, I really do! I actually don't think they've changed their style as much as one thought they would and I believe there are quite a few songs on the album that still sound very "keanish". ;) For me, I already love "Perfect Symmetry" very much as I think it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard! It almost made me cry when I heard it the first time. I also adore "Black burning heart", it's almost just as beautiful! I'm so much looking forward to seeing them live in less than a month! It's like a big dream coming true as I've been waiting for the chance to see them for more than 3 years... :)

  8. Well, when they got back to the main stage, Chris already regretted having drunk it because he sighed and said something like "I shouldn't have drunk that one..." :laugh3:
  9. :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3: And I heard him talking about his drink which was a mixture of water and whiskey (or something like that ;) ). I had no idea it actually was a "Maß". Thanks for posting! :)
  10. I've also uploaded the rest of my photos on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30910885@N02/sets/72157607546358562/detail/

  12. The first few of the videos I made... I'm sorry that they're a bit shaky and I think the sound's sometimes not the best, either. But maybe someone would like to watch them, so here you go: [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=yVoxBD6SMgI]Cemeteries of London I[/ame] [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xQYre0DJfqo]Cemeteries of London II[/ame] [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Rsk9-41sf-k]Fix you[/ame] [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=czvLwdWA8T0]42[/ame] [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=q9re4unsEO0]Strawberry Swing[/ame] [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wcrUwHUj-ho]Viva la vida[/ame] To be continued... ;)
  13. Well, everybody, now I'm finally back, a little bit recovered and managed to get "my head out of the clouds" again. At least a tiny little bit. Or whatever. ;) My ears are still ringing, my head, feet and back are still aching, but you know what? I just don't care as I had the time of my life! Therefore I'd happily do it all over again and again and again because it was so much worth it!! So, what can or what should I say except IT WAS SO ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! Well, being honest, I actually didn't expect anything less, but I also didn't expect them to blow me away like THAT, either. ;) So here's my "little" step by step review, just in case anybody's still interested... When I arrived at the venue at about 2 o'clock, absolutely no one was there, so I took the chance and used the time for a little walk through the amazing Olympiapark and to get something to eat. I really haven't been away for such a long time, but when I finally came back there were already a few people sitting at the entrances... I guess it must have been because of the soundcheck which had just started. So I sat down at another door and listend to Chris singing "There was snow, white snow..." all over again and again. It was kind of funny because Violet Hill was the only song they practised for a whole while and after that they just played a few bits of VLV and CoL. That was everything. So after a while a security guy told us to leave the doors and stand behind the barricades. And that was when the very boring and difficult part of the "adventure" began... Because having to stand and wait for about 5 hours in the freezing cold all on your own among not too chatty people who were only fooling around with the security guys wasn't that much fun at all and the time was passing by so slowly... But luckily, they let us in about half an hour earlier and as I was one of the first ones to get inside, I finally found myself standing in the middle of the first row, right between Jonny and Chris. :D So I patiently waited for Albert to enter the stage and nearly fell asleep due to the very tiresome music that was played... :laugh3: At exactly 8 o'clock, the lights went off and Albert entered the stage... Never having listened to his songs before, I was quite curious how it'd be, but being honest, Albert disappointed me for some reason... I mean it wasn't the fact that I didn't like his music, but I didn't like the way he acted - or actually DIDN'T act - on the stage... He seemed very exhausted and pretty lethargic, just like he didn't really enjoy the performance and didn't want to be there... Which was a pity, because I think his songs were quite nice. Again, the tiresome music was played , but this time the crowd got more and more excited... But at 9 o'clock, there was still no sight of the guys of Coldplay and everybody got cutty... 10 minutes later the song by Jay-Z was played and then it was time for "An der schönen blauen Donau". And that actually was when one of my hightlights of the evening took place... A couple who had seats stood up and danced a waltz to the song! The whole crowd was clapping and cheering for them. It was so hilarious indeed! :laugh3: I wonder whether the guys saw it behind the stage because the big applause at the beginning of LiT was at least half for the couple. Now my heart started beating faster and faster because I couldn't believe it just began and that they were standing so close to the spot where I was! I think LiT is such a perfect song to begin and it definitely was one of my favourite parts of the evening and I didn't want it to end... VH sounded just absolutely awesome but was over too fast, too. Clocks took me by surprise, I somehow didn't expect them to play it but I really enjoyed it. Chris sounds so awesome when he's playing on the piano! When they played SoS afterwards, I was a bit afraid that they'd put CoL off the setlist, but everything was fine when the magic balls turned blue and I could hear the first tunes of it. I'd have loved to watch Chris and Jonny fooling around on the side stage during IMP, but I couldn't see much of the happenings on the side stages from my spot, unfortunately. But what I could hear was totally lovely! :D Furthermore, I really loved the intro of 42 and the part when Chris wouldn't stop singing "And I will try to fix you..." at the end of Fix you. He also let us sing the end of the song and said it was "fantastic". What a liar. :laugh3: I was very happy they decided to play Strawberry Swing and Chris's little acting parts were just too hilarious! Then they moved on to Guy's side stage and played the dance version of GPASUYF. Being honest, that actually was the only song I didn't really like... It sounded a little bit too weird to my ears. But what I truly loved was the dance version of Talk. That one rocked indeed! :D After that, the other guys left Chris all alone on the piano, playing THP. And that was the moment I was totally blown away! It definitely was my highlight of the night because it was so absolutely beautiful and really got me and Postcards from far away sounded lovely as well. :) So now I guess the moment for which everyone has been waiting finally arrived as it was time for VLV. The whole crowd went crazy and sang along enthusiasticly. :) When the crowd eventually had stopped singing "oooohooooo ooo", Lost! was played which is an awesome live song, too! Then our guys disappeard and after a while they popped up among the audience in the back of the venue and played The Scientist and DWNC. It was magical and I had goosebumps all over my body! As the VLV remix was played while they were on their way back to the stage, it got dark and everybody was singing "oooohoooo ooo" again. Then very bright flashing lights turned on again and I felt like blind while the first tunes of Politik could be heard. Chris then played a to me totally unknown instrumental part as a kind of outro which sounded very nice indeed. All too soon it was time for the butterflies to come down on our heads and the effect of it and Chris singing LiJ in the background was just phenomenal! I've eagerly been awaiting DAAHF to be played as I believed the song's climax must be so breathtaking live! And it really was! What a fabulous way that is to put an "end" to the show! :o When they'd left the stage, my biggest fear was that they'd put Yellow off the setlist as well, but when the whole venue finally was flooded with yellow lights I felt relieved again but also kind of sad because I knew that this would be the last song... So after one of the best 5 minutes of my life, it was time to say goodbye... Thinking about it now, I actually think Chris has been pretty chatty last evening. Well, maybe not so much at the beginning of their performance, but he grew into it more and more during the show. He for example told us that he thought it was really kind of us to spend two hours or our precious time at the Oktoberfest just to see them. And once during the middle of their show, he told us he knew about the not-so-good relationship between the British and German people, but that they were trying and doing their best to make it better. And before they started playing The Scientist, he talked for quite a while... About the airing of the show by a new launched radio station called Absolute Radio and also about his drink which was a mixture of water and whiskey according to his account. :laugh3: Chris later introduced us to Will as he told us that he knew that lead singers could be very annoying and that he too believed that they sometimes were "a pain in the arse". :laugh3: And at some part during their performance he also wished us "a happy Oktoberfest" again. ;) Well, now I honestly can't think of anything else to tell you as I'm still pretty out of my mind. ;) But I'm just about to upload my videos and photos and I will post the links to them as soon as possible! :) All in all, I have to say that this was the best concert I've ever attended and I'm so glad I got the chance to be there! COLPLAY SO ROCKED MY SOCKS! :) I wish I'd have a ticket for the show in Zürich tomorrow, though... I now want to be there soooo badly... :(
  14. Today's the big day! :D I've been looking forward to it for months and now the day's finally arrived! I just can't wait anymore and I'm so excited already! I've also found a webcam of the Olympiahalle in Munich. It's quite dark, but one can see the already built up stage: http://www.deutschland-webcam.de/webcams/details-222.html I'll be off to Munich now, so hold your fingers crossed for me! :) :flutterby:
  15. Danke Sarah! :) Achja... Also nur, damit du schon mal vorgewarnt bist... ;)

Aber was will man machen...?!
  19. Aww, what a funny competition! I think it'd certainly be quite a lot of fun to join, but I've already got my ticket for the show anyway. :D :laugh3: @G o A: No worries about the report as I'll be there. ;) 6 days left!
  20. Wow Jpw48, great news! It'd be so awesome if you could manage to upload it. I'm really excited and wonder which song it is! :) By the way, have you heard about the new European dates? I've already ordered my ticket for Munich and I'm so incredibly happy that now I finally got the chance to see them live as I've been waiting for that opportunity for more than two years. So I'm really looking forward to November and I can't wait. :) I guess this is going to be the best autumn ever! Having the chance to see Coldplay, James Blunt and Keane all in a row is just too great to imagine... :D
  21. The question about how long one should queue up was actually the problem I had in my mind as well but I couldn't find a topic, either. So thank you hrobert for opening that topic! :) The gig in Munich will be my first Coldplay gig and honestly, I have no clue at all about when it's best to start queuing up... Well, for me, starting to queue up pretty early wouldn't be such a big problem as that's what I've been usually doing at all the gigs I've been to so far. Being a fan of James Blunt, queuing up for something about 5-6 hours before the doors are opened is something I'm already used to. ;) Of course, most of the people attending those gigs normally turn up at about 4-5 pm, but I want to make sure to be one of the firsts in line. :D So, what do you think? Are 5-6 hours of queuing before the gig okay?
