  1. OMG I am so happy about all of the brilliant Chris-in-cargo pants pictures. I am a member of the get-Chris-back-in-cargo-pants club LOL! THANK YOU!
  2. OMG!!!! *fangirl moment* This is actually going to be a good show. first they got the Police to perform for the first time together in ages... and now this. WOW!!!! This is gonna be sooooooo interesting, really. And there's a lot of GOOD music up this year. Wow.
  3. which live version is this??? sounds good! :D I listened to it another ten or so times today haha. I'm thinking my list is going like this right now (not in order) Bones House of Cards Let Down There There Stop Whispering Street Spirit (Fade Out) Talk about being on a Radiohead craz lol. That's been me this week.
  4. and this afternoon I discovered "Stop Whispering." And listened to it about a million times lol. I like the version that was on the video... the album version has the kickier/cooler shout ending... but the video one seemed softer and a little more contemplative and beautiful. I thought it was really quite a good song! Some people are hard on them for their first album but for me it just proves how versatile they are. They can have brilliance on so many different levels. And I'll take "Stop Whispering" over half the stuff on pop radio now, anytime. Seriously. and YAY! thescientist06... glad to hear some more loving on There There! Have you seen the live version on Jon Ross??? AHHHHHHHHH soooo good. Gah.

Don't feel bad! Danny Elfman is genius! I loooove the Edward Scissorhands soundtrack sooo much. Gah.
  6. My brother bought me the "I Might Be Wrong" album on vinyl a few days ago... I've listened to it soooo many times already. The title track especially makes me happy :D And There There is my current most played album track... Gosh, I love that song. Closely followed by Street Spirit... though the whole Bends album is just brilliant :D

Footloose soundtrack and then: Penelope soundtrack Edward Scissorhands soundtrack Xanadu soundtrack Captain Corelli's Mandolin soundtrack Once soundtrack Walk the Line soundtrack Moulin Rouge soundtrack Dear Frankie soundtrack the Illusionist soundtrack Back to the Future soundtrack Lord of the Rings I soundtrack Twilight soundtrack probably forgot some lol. I love soundtracks... and I have tons lol.
  8. Me too! Though for me, I start with Atoms for Peace, And It Rained All Night and let it go into Harrowdown Hill... what a GREAT combination of songs right there. They come from such different sides of the brain and yet they flow so well together. I always skip to the live version of Cymbal Rush though... ever since I heard that one, I'm spoiled to it. It's just a lot more haunting and delicate on the piano....
  9. I agree about the video... i was rather unimpressed. I do like the song but the video was pedestrian. "Judas" is my favorite track on the album, because of the lyrics and construction of the song and the very emotional way it makes me feel. I remember when I first bought the disc, I kept listening to that song over and over and one day thought, "when I was in New York, I was Judas too." Which is weird, since I haven't been in New York all that much and I certainly didn't get a latte from someone who called me Judas lol But that just goes to show the strength of music, like good fiction... it sticks with us, has meaning to each person, moves us. (When I read Interview with the Vampire, it had such a profound impact on my life and felt so rich and real that when Hurrican Katrina happened, I remember one day starting to cry, thinking Louis would be so sad to see what had happened to his beloved home. Silly as it sounds, that's how real fiction can be!)
  10. My mum likes Coldplay a lot but the other day I had on Coldplay covering that James Bond song "You Only Live Twice" and my mom was like, "ARRRRRGH who is that murdering that song??? AHHHH! Make it stop! I feel VERY sorry for whoever tried to cover that." I quickly turned it off and didn't tell her who it was LOL! It's better than what happened when I hung a Rolling Stone cover poster of Thom Yorke in my room though. My mom walked in and said, "ohhhh no, One-Eyed Squishy!" HAHAHAHA So Chris gets a better reception in my house :D ps- All of the Coldplay boys are attractive in their own way, because they have sparkling and varied personalities, interesting strengths, endearing weaknesses, great talent and beautiful, unique physical features. :D We can agree on THAT at least, right? :D
  11. Maybe the others have been spending time with their families while they get a chance and WANT a break... I don't think it means anything bad. :(
  12. oooh! I love love love all of those... especially the ones of Chris in the white Make Trade Fair shirt. I love him in that shirt hehe. :D THANK YOU!
  13. I love Jon Ross so much... he makes everyone more interesting and considerably more funny as well. This should be good :D I'll never forget Jon Ross' towel drop bit with Chris haha...
  14. oooooh sooo exciting! I'm so excited! It should be great. :D It'll be neat to see where they go with their sound and ideas now...
  15. At least someone mentioned The Time Traveler's Wife, though sadly it was Madonna. Since she couldn't be bothered to plug it, I will, as it's one of my favorite books of all time (lol). It's a truly beautiful story of the unlikely and dangerous romance between an ordinary woman living on an ordinary time line... and her time-challenged husband. He literally can just disappear from things at any time and travel to a different point in his own life. This, of course, causes all kinds of trouble for both of them, as he disappears and leaves her alone... and conversely, pops up in some other point of her life (like when she's a little girl). It's a beautiful book that starts off a bit confusing but sweeps you inside and keeps you going all the way to the heartbreaking ending. one of my favorite books ever, and I couldn't more highly reccomend it. That being said, no offense to Madonna, but I never took her for having good taste in books...
  16. Hey everyone!!!! Nice to see such a lively atmosphere in here! *hugs* i love those Q magazine pics so much. I finally got the mag at Borders (they get it a few months late lol) and wow. :D
  17. Oh gosh, I KNOW! That tilted hat look just kills me everytime... and his lips. *gulps* So beautiful!!! THANK YOU for all of the wonderful pics everyone!! This thread is so lively today!
  18. i've been voting!!! we're doing AWESOME!!! And even as I'm voting, I'm cheating on Chris... I'm listening to Andrew Bird's brilliant new album "Noble Beast." haha. it's so good though!! Those naughty Muse fans got Matt a bit high, eh? I think Matt's very very cute but Chris was unfairly thrown off the list! grrr!
  19. I have no idea why, but that's been one of my fav Chris pics since I first saw it... maybe because of his fingers... or the cute look on his face... or his hair... or just that he's standing next to Jason Bateman and is all like OOOOOOHHHH LOOOOKIEEE HERE!!! :laugh3: Ah Chris :D
  20. You know I love you so... and not just because your siggie is so sexy! :laugh3: Chris' number's going up... slowly but surely!!
  21. I love that performance of the Scientist!!! Soooo beautiful! Marisa, I will gladly trade with you hehe. I am soooo done with snow, ick. Also, hope you like the new siggie ;) How could you not love his beautiful eyes in that pic???
  22. I think Boston will be closest to me. My two best friends are the ones who got me into Coldplay and we've all agreed that if they come to Boston this year, we're gonna break the piggybanks and REALLY attempt going! The thing is, when you add up ticket prices plus travel, it hurts to think about it lol. Yesterday we got more than a foot of snow here. I am jealous of your non-sticking snow lol. we look like someone poured a bowl of melted marshmallows all over everything. :D It's cold too!! What a wonderful 800th post by the way!!!! Ahhhh Chris. And you inspired me to make a new avy lol... all the pretty pics and this Chris one is on top for me of favorite Chris pics. *happy sigh* His eyes :D
  23. ^^Ah gosh, as if his adorable dance wasn't cute enough! And his jacket!! Wonderful video, it's my first time seeing it. :D I have to admit, I don't like Oasis at all... they seem like snobs and their music doesn't impress me.... or maybe it has something to do with how rude one of the brothers was to Jon Ross on an interview and how he said Coldplay's fans are ugly lol. InaTelescope Lens, I just noticed you are also a Northeast fan! I live in New Hampshire... where was your Coldplay concert? I hope to get to see them live... never have yet. New Hampshire isn't exactly the capitol for concerts lol
  24. Also, I know two people who, whenever they see me, they just love to say, "Have you been listening to U2 lately? That 'Viva La Vida' song is pretty catchy, huh? best song they've had in a while." And at first I sorta just ignored it. Last time the one person said it, I fixed her with a death stare, didn't smile or say anything, and she sort of chuckled nervously. She then went on to say she even thought Chris LOOKS like Bono. My reply to this, sweetly, was "Maybe a little, except Chris is sexy." And then I left. HAHA It really wouldn't bother me if it was a stranger saying it. I don't care THAT much. What annoys me is that they are supposed to be friends, I've told them it's not that funny and they continue the joke everytime they see me and think it's uproarious. Hopefully the deathstare ended it though :D
