Howie Day is fantastic... my friend introduced me to his music by playing his live DVD from back when he was a one-man band... he's mad talented! I have one of his CDs now (Stop All the World Now) and I love it.

yes... a superhero or a Bond villian (Chris as a Bond villian... cooooome on, would be awwwwesome!!) or a vampire. My novel has a character that Chris inspired actually... and he's been alive 127 years and is from a family of ancient magicians. ;) I love fiction. LOL

and now I'm going to be cheesy and a little off topic but Coldplay has completely won me over with the "politik" spelling. It just rocks so much more than "politic." But then, much of what the boys make up rocks so much more ;) I voted for McCain! I'm proud to see my friends of all political parties got out and voted today... only one of my buddies that I ran into said she wasn't going to. it's exciting for us to get involved. Several of the people I know were voting for their very first time (it was my second time). Good for all of you newbies!

It is definitely exciting to see so many people voting. Even our small town was packed with voters! I know i'm in the minority here voting for McCain but I'm excited about voting and excited to see what happens now... I'm hoping for the best for all of us!

I tried to find the new Q mag yesterday, but darn it... Borders only had an old issue!!

It's gonna probably be a long time before we get results... let's not forget how much counting, recounting and cheating (on both sides) that goes in... also, we should have the highest turnout this time ever... which means more votes to count. There's a possibility it will be days, like 8 years ago.

Yes! That was the one. I think Will Ferrell was brilliant. he was my favorite on there... the Tina Fey thing got annoying after small doses. Will Ferrell however... I think he could sit in a chair and blink and I'd be rolling on the floor... never mind him doing the squint and talking like he did in that! My other favorite bit in that part was, "What? WHAT? Why didn't you... ohhh... Well, i've just been informed that our country is in an alltime low and my approval ratings are lower than ever. I declared the White House a bummer free zone four months ago." LOL!

Coldplay for me all the way... whatever that means about me lol. My indie friend says I'm commercial and boring for liking Coldplay, but it just means more to me lyrically than Radiohead. I respect Radiohead and really like some of their songs, but when I'm feeling bad, coldplay is like chicken soup. And when I'm happy, it's like a party lol

Yeah, Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler are awesome! Sorry for asking a dumbish question about it, because I'm sure you live in a huge place, but people always imagine another city/state as a lot smaller than it is. (Like on Flight of the Conchords!) 2732, it was on SNL... um... two weeks ago I think? It was Will Ferrell as President Bush, talking to Tina Fey about why the vide president is the most important person in the country or something lol. Very funny.

^^Yeah, and now I'm laughing remembering Will Ferrell saying, "Huh? That's not what Dick Cheney said the day he sat me down!" LOL!! That was one of the best moments on there in my opinion. hehe

Okay, and I just have to ask one thing HorrificAttack, and I'm going to completely sound like an idiot American here and everything but... do you guys consider Sting to be sort of a son of your area? Or Mark Knopfler? They are two of my favorite musicians and they're both from that area of England, if i remember right... You grow your artists good up there ;)

^^I liked Ron Paul too. He was interviewed recently on TV and he really seemed to have his head on right... of course, it would be a lot of changing very quickly and it might be hard to adjust for a lot of people. I think that's why he was written off as "crazy" but he seems like a really, really cool guy... and very goodnatured on top of all of that.

Don't worry, horrificattack! No one accused you of attacking me :D I don't think you were attacking me! Maybe it's just a recurring theme from your screenname lol. It does sound kind of funny! Where did the idea for it come from, if I may ask?

I'm encouraging for us to work together instead of apart. I've felt very sad to see families split down the middle over this debate... tonight my friend said she and her husband got in a fight about it. It feels like in the Civil War when families literally were seperated by loyalties to the north or south... yes, they believed strongly in things, but I can't imagine being a mother and seeing your son on the other side of a battlefield from your husband or even from yourself. Thank you Tnspieler, for what you said, because you're absolutely right... I wasn't speaking to anyone in particular! :D HorrificAttack, I'm sharing my opinion like everyone else is, which is what makes this such a colorful place. We're all sharing our opinions. I didn't attack you and don't want to attack you. You have every right to believe what you do. I'm not taking away from your beliefs, so please don't take away from mine. I do believe people will understand what I was trying to say and I hope you will too.

I am voting for John McCain. I liked Ron Paul the best of all of the candidates and was disappointed he didn't make it further. Talk about change... they called him crazy because his ideas were truly different. Plus he didn't waste his time bashing other people... he just spoke his own ideas. I would like to see less bashing and more good ideas from both sides. We are neighbors, we teach each other's children, sell each other clothes, build each other's houses. I hope in a few weeks people will put down their political signs and make real change at the ground level. Presidents are not saviors and can't help those who won't help themselves. We need to make the real difference, buy locally, support each other, make better health decisions, think through our actions more, cut back pollution and treat each other with kindness. I know I sound like a loony hippie, but I very much believe those things and I try to do them every day... whether by turning my car off instead of letting it idle, not running water if I'm not using it or just by carpooling, etc. I would encourage everyone here to do those things, to look at your neighbor and to try to start improving. I truly love our country but I see it falling apart because of the labels we've given ourselves, the signs we wave and pins we wear. The political party thing has become such a hurting point... people point fingers and judge others by a sign. And what does it all really mean anyway? We need to first heal our families, friends and communities before we can heal our nation and our world. It starts with you, not the man who calls himself president. Please find kindness in your heart for someone on the other side of the political "fence." Look at them with compassion. Remember that if you were hurt, they might be the hands that cradle your head and lovingly stitch you up, save your life. Christ's real message to the world was that we are supposed to love others before ourselves. I think that gets lost so many times behind religion and tradition. tonight I'm praying for all of us here and for each of you, for myself and this world. Please join me?
