Ok, so now I've been given older songs by the guys from a friend. She said listening to the Suburbs first thing to get into them was a bad decision haha. So she gave me some tracks. Will put them on my mp3 player and listen at work tomorrow! :)

I haven't read anything in this thread, just seen the quotes of your post on the last page so I went back to quote it as well... I'm sorry but I agree with Reilly! :uhoh: I listened to it and although I wouldn't call it an "awful" hybrid, I still think there's nothing new on this album. It reminded me of other bands / older records and it flows nicely as background music while at work but there are no songs standing out for me. Yet I heard everywhere it would be "sooo awesome" so I listened to it... the German magazine Musikexpress even said "Arcade Fire give us the first big Indie album of this decade" which I don't really understand now after listening. This is the only album of the guys I listened to btw. (another :uhoh:) :escaping3:

The former is Coldplay's Parachutes (plural) and the latter is Guster's Parachute (singular). So there are not two versions of Parachutes, just the one.

I was wondering (assuming you're British) if you find the way Americans say it nearly as amusing as I. Thanks! :) The Oracle replies: We actually pronounce it al-yoo -min-ee-um and as far as I see (hear) it, you guys say aloo-me-num, which I find funny too! --> Time to plug my favourite concert again: At the 2006 Abbey Road concert Chris says "It's nice to come home where everyone understands what aluminium is". :lol:
