  2. okay my theory: i know it's a little bold saying this but - the album title will be..... printed on the album cover! ;D c'mon do we need billions of threads about the same topic? we should have one called "Theories on LP5" and clarifly in the first post: nothing confirmed, d-d-don't believe a word it's jusssst us again puzzeling on some guesses...
  3. Session - Linkin Park John Mayer
  4. aaaww cool! then: happy birthday alles gute zum geburtstag joyeux anniversaire gratulerer med dagen Will!!
  5. i couldn't listen to it before everything was down, darn... though somebody said it would remember him of anything and then he posted "Questions of Science", dunno what that's supposed to be but basically it was the main chord progression of the scientist with strings and so on and some drums and bass.... what did this fake-UFO sound like?
  6. i thought UFO is a registered name? there's no point in listing acronyms at ASCAP... oh eerrm... what does DLIBYH stand for? a coldplay song ?! i'm too tired to think of anything right now .____.
  7. MX i think is just the "ding ding dingdingding ding ding dingdingding ding..." part xD basically i mean everything before chris starts singing.
  8. since teco brought up some stuff... i'll add that^^ : "xylo-" as a prefix means something with "wood" xylophone - > instrument bulit of wood xylotomy - > preparation of wood for microscopic analysis xylograph - > an engraving in wood, especially one used for printing
  9. I'm sure they'll be on lp5: Mylo Xyloto (possibly MX?)/Hurts Like Heaven Major Minus Moving To Mars Us Against the World Princess of China Up With the Birds Paradise Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall U.F.O. Tomorrow Great Expectations A Hopeful Transmission no way these are on lp5: Don Quixote/Spanish Rain Wedding Bells Famous Old Painters Leftrightleftrightleft
  10. Now i finally got my GShock DW6900 =)) just arrived this morning and i love it! it's a dark blue w/metallic one. (in fact, the DW-6900SB if you wanna look it up)
  11. thou shall ask whether or not the audience is having a good time ;D
  12. sry for dp
  13. umm well, check the RECORDINGS section on coldplay.com the singles were released about 2 weeks to a month before the album except for the 1st one, shiver, then 3months later yellow and another month later parachutes hm... do the maths ;)
  14. you play the keyboard, so sitting will help a lot ;) generally, playing an instrument is good, because then you MUST know where you are and what you're to do. also, as a solo performer, it adds flexibility to your performance - see the backing track problems -> consider your band (if you're a singer only) as a recorded track that cannot be changed; at least if they are not very good (so they can improvise and adapt) or well instructed singing directly into the mic with a distance of like 1cm or less is good, but remember to back off if you sing loud passages or sing with your mouth right next to the mic but not into it when using P sounds. e.g. "and the hardest part..." i always have to back off or turn a little to the side when singing part because otherwise it'll be a loud BOOM only, like a bass drum being confident helps veeery much, so be prepared properly and KNOW YOUR LYRICS by hard... if you have to think "ooh what's the next line`??" hile singing, you'll sound bad because you cannot focus.
  15. Chris and Jonny used Jim Dunlop .60mm nylon picks during Viva, i see no reason why they would change that...
  16. yes this is definitely better! i fully agree with the Champion. the most important thing now is to work on your accent and timing, because you're off many times ( i think this is what champion means with >you slow down the vocals< ), but then you're good to go... the sound of the instruments, well, that's personal taste.
  17. ^you'd better mind your language ...and don't be impertinent -.-* i pointed out what needs improvement or should not be done, i also mentioned that it's not as bad as you might think when reading this. 1 - saying that it's too slow isn't wrong - implies: speed it up 2 - in the original record from coldplay you have an... "ahuu" whatever part in the background, and he tried to do that with his voice which did not work out. 3 - the accent clearly is a problem, i'm not the only one who thinks that. on professional recordings, the voice should be appropriate, too, so he'd have to work on that as good as possible in order to be ready for a good recording. 4 - again, plain fact. 5 - said the drums are wrong --> listen to the song again and give it another try. he replied it's a cover, so he likes the drums and that's okay. you definitely can do it that way, it only sounds different. 6 - clearly pointed out what's wrong. The Champion found another way of telling what he thinks, i chose to do it in a more helpful way. if you are able to read and see what's implied by what i'm saying, you'd understand i never meant to put down anyone - and i didn't have the feeling Ols54 regarded it as offensive
  18. 1 - it's too slow 2 - never again try to imitate an instrument with your voice!! :D seriously 3 - you have a strong accent, so i don't really like your voice (e.g. "smiiithereeens", i dislike it) 4 - you miss a lot of notes 5 - the drums are wrong (and i hardly hear a bass, i'll have another listen later) 6 - mixing & mastering is bad, the lead guitar is nearly inaudible at times while the rhythm guitar is too present - is that an electric guitar?? it doesn't sound acoustic at all... sounds worse now than it is, there is a lot of potential, keep on working (especially issue 6 will contribute a lot of quality if it's improved)
  19. ^NOT THAT xD find out who's a real pro and who's got the right technique. no punk guitarist is good. (seriously it's too trashy xD) clapton is very good to watch... but even among the best sounding guitarists, there are guys that have a weird personal style which is not worth copying because you learn stuff WRONG. let yourself be inspired but do not copy, that's always important to remember, find your own way and it'll be fine
  20. you sure can do that but it's a lot harder and more exhausting. but ok, always try both ways, but keep on working on the "normal" way - flat finger, not angled - so you'll manage that, too, one day^^
  21. right^^ and btw: boooys, baby-G is for girls :D but this G-Shock models are smaller and not oversized, i had a look at them 2 days ago... *__*
  22. ok so you wanna stick that on a guitar? :D i like the idea - i came up with it, too xD post pics when you do it, before& after and such things =)
  23. yeah "Car Kids" sounds more like a name for a gang or group like bikers, just with cars.... i think it refers to charlie brown OR it is a song. the new songs all cross over at some points... "[it's] (just) us against the world", found in the song with the same name AND in Major Minus, so why may Car Kids not do both, refer to CB & be a song?
  24. :D righty, well, come across the boarder and take it with the 5-fingers-discount (sorry :P ) ya i'll look it up later maybe xD um, Champion, are you planning to do something, too? oh, oh, what i just remembered: inkjet paper, that might be THE idea if you want to decorate a guitar instead of painting it.... of course it'll remain painted (and hell no, NOT sanded before that), so it's removable.... just an idea (personally, i'd never do that since i am able to paint and spray (or maybe airbrush next time =) ) my equipment anyway, but for others it might be an alternative)
  25. it certainly had one on it, but i'll look it up some time else, maybe tomorrow... i doubt you'll get it overseas... dunno^^
