what the?? let's not be too picky on "distortion" and the distinguishing between that and overdrive etc. but tell me, what is a pro co rat if not a dist. pedal? a doubt he ever uses the gain/crunch/whatever channel on his amp, because fender amp's dist. sounds like... crap ^^ he has a lot of pedals & stuff, it used to be many and there must be more meanwhile.

and IMP, clean? never. you need a fair amount of distortion there. but it's the amp & pedals i think, you haven't told us what exactly you are doing with what amp, what guitar with which pickup-position etc. charlie brown, too, is distorted...

yup, VST plugins and such things are able to do some nice tricks. reversing suff: Boss DD7 (is it dd7 ? xD) well the delay pedal for guitar also, i just found a gorgeous version of don't panic and yes, there is a piano with a phaser indeed. it's studio effects i believe, live, it can be achieved with a phaser pedal like jonny's mxr phase 90 or whatever he has got...

so i'll give it a first try, everyone else shall contribute =) just the lead guitar for now, didn't care about the acoustic yet. it is standart tuning then the guitar comes in the first time with single notes when the drums come in, too, around 1:33 with this: G|-13-13-13-13-12-12-12-12-13-13-13-13-12-12-12-12-........ with a lot of effects like a pretty cranked chorus or some kind of that... i wouldn't worry about that now... what follows is a tremolopicking thing i suppose, just as in LiT (ii): B|-15---16-13-15---16--13--11------- on "76543": B|-9-8-4-6----- it's kinda hard to hear it now... this effect which might be his eventide rack thing is so strong and also octaves some notes i believe, i don't get it now, sorry then this kind of solo is played with a slide: (13/)14 e.g. means you start on 13 but quickly slide it up, so 14 is the actual note B|-(13/)14--14--14-13-11-9--(13/)14--14--14-13-11-9--(11/)13--13----13-13-13--11---11-13-(13/)14--14--14-13-11-9-... ...-(13/)14--14--14-13-11-9--(11/)13--8--8-8-11--8--8-9---6-6-6-8-9-11-20---20-20-21---21-21-20----18---... ...---8---8-8-9---9-9-8--------- that's it i guess .___. try out, comment, contribute, i just made a start^^

no^^ MM was short with 3:30, but 4:18 for MTM is just fine. i recently discovered, all the hit singles from coldplay are in a range from 4-5 minutes ! also, in the radio the longer ones like clocks which is over 5 minutes were cut to a radio edit!

Wow this is just a wonderful piece. It starts out with a very sad and jazzy tune and Chris' low voice and proceeds with a typical Coldplay sound we have not heard since X&Y. The piano again has the major role, accompanied by a blurry sound of Jon's guitar and acoustic guitar as we know from Life in Technicolor. Then there are these nice lead sounds from our dear Jonny, strings in the background, a carrying drumwork and a driving sound that remembers me of Christmas Lights. It seems Coldplay have kind of stepped back a little to what they used to be before Viva La Vida or Death and all his Friends, and i really love this new song. It gives me hope for LP5 to be absolutely brilliant - that is why it really deserves the 10 out of 10!

yeah hope it is as good as live and not too overdone... british radio sucks btw :D i'm sorry to say but i can't stay tuned for too long or i will go nuts... german radio stations have a better mix.... however we do not have any regular stations broadcasting one style of music only, that would be nice, too edit: white wedding, awesome =D

physical copies need to be shipped out to be in stores and weeell, there are some vendors that may want to have a listen before the release and may put it up online too... which definitely is illegal :D but what about the downloads? will itunes recieve it in one place maybe on a card or usb stick? and all the others like amazon etc... so with only one physical copy per company, which i think is easier to control?.... ah ok well, there sure are workers that have access to the files? i mean, not trustworthy workers...

dude, you dug up the 4shared link, have a look into the singles & b-sides, it's in there, dead sure ^^ it's very simple btw. so yeah, you could also try by ear ( i always have to because i dunno where my book is most of the time xD )

10mins is farily long :P but it's correct ^^ though i'd check with the videos if it's not an capoed open-tuning.... if i recall that correctly, on at least 1 capoed song he'd strum the guitar open and it was a normal sounding chord (one of the new tunes) edit: yup, looks like i'm right try out open E: low to high EBEG#BE + capo on 6th fret the verse is mostly Bb (all strings open 0-0-0-0-0-0) & Eb (11-11-11-0-0-0) (don't care about the capo when referring to the frets, kay? 0 is just the same as "open") then: you use your heart as a weapon <- F (13-13-13-0-0-0) still hurts like heaven <- back to Eb and once there is a change, don't know when actually, but maybe it's "it's true" just before "you use your heart as a weapon", there he goes to Dm (10-10-10-0-0-0) and then back to F & Eb as usual. i think it's correct, at least is sounds good to me (see next post, sorry for DP ) and looks like what chris is doing... have fun ((did not take me 10 min at all :P xD i'm sorry^^))

fiber glass is very good actually if he knows what he's doing. lightweight, able to take a beating without breaking into a billion pieces and easy to paint on
