Snow Patrol Week: CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
While I'm not fully opposed to the idea, it seems we're running the risk of these types of "band weeks" becoming overly excessive. I'm not even talking about comparing Radiohead's prestige to Snow Patrol's (although Radiohead certainly has a larger fanbase here), but this might be the beginning of overkill.

Best Coldplay song to listen to on a sunny summer's day?
Ladder to the Sun? Yellow makes me think of the beach, though that's probably because of the video. :P

Best Song to Listen to On a Rainy Day?
Agreed about Trouble. The piano just suits it well. Maybe even Strawberry Swing.

What Coldplay song do you think is the best lyrically?
The lyrics were actually the reason I didn't like Fix You at first. I thought they were childish. Granted, I've since come to really appeciate the song for reasons other than lyrics. But no one's gonna stop me from liking 42's. :P

What Coldplay song do you think is the best lyrically?
I suppose I mainly like the lyrical theme in 42. Though repetitive at the beginning, it still really sums up many of the death-based moods of the album, especially the whole "You thought you might be a ghost, you didn't get to heaven but you made it close" part. And yes, how could I forget to mention The Scientist? AROBTTH is probably the strongest album lyrically.

What Happened to Coldplay?
Not to mention that there was plenty of bad pop before Miley. Honestly, I have some difficulty finding pop in VLV outside of the title track, and even then, it's not "pop" in a traditional sense. Some of the songs like LIJ are certainly more peppy than the older Coldplay norm, but like I said, I think it's still outnumbered by the amount of low-key tracks.

Heehee, great thread idea. This is certainly Amsterdam, but maybe I'll be quick enough to answer another one! :D

What Coldplay song do you think is the best lyrically?
Was gonna mention AROBTTH, but another powerful one is Amsterdam. Same with 42. Heck, even Viva La Vida is great lyrically.

Help with name for new puppy...want a Coldplay themed name!
"HARVEY" :D Or if it's a female, then I think Lhuna would be a great name, as others suggested.

Glass Of Water - Official Video?
Yeah, sorry to kill any hopes of it being a single, but we also would have been informed through official sources beforehand about it. I actually think it's great to have a cherished, high-energy song like this that isn't a single. :)

The Snow Patrol Thread
I'm not sure what SP songs are most accessible, but the entire album that "Run" comes from - Final Straw - is very solid. I'm tempted to say that Eyes Open is a more mainstream album and the material on it may be easier to get into at first, though. Songs on it like "Chasing Cars" and "You're All I Have" are some of the more well-known ones, and it contains one of my personal favorites - "Make This Go on Forever".

The Simpsons vs Family Guy
In terms of consistent quality, Futurama may be the best cartoon ever on that front. I got around to watching their 4 new DVD-exclusive releases, and all but the 3rd one are really good. But I'm not counting on any full revival. American Dad is an okay show that's probably better than modern Family Guy but nothing I watch regularly. Peoeple debate the Simpsons' "golden" age. I tend to mark it from Seasons 2-9. There sometimes are great episodes that still pop up every now and then; shame they are indeed lost among the heaps of garbage.
