What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
Violet Hill

I've got a poster hanging in my dorm that's not the same as yours, but it's got the same picture on it and is promoting VLVODAAHF. Granted, I probably like yours better.

18-Jul-09: Home Depot Centre, Carson, CA - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews, Setlists, Photos/Vid
Yeah, it's either the recording device or YouTube itself which is throwing off the audio/video sync. Viva never sounds exactly the same each time.

U2
^ Just a remix of No Line on the Horizon. Oddly enough, I've been hearing Magnificent on KROQ a few times for a couple weeks now. It's a good song that's not the best on the album, but should be great in a stadium show. Though I expected "Crazy Tonight" first, which I still think is an inevitible single release.

Like I said, I'd totally love to, and I could easily stay at my step brother's house in Oceanside the night beforehand, but I gotta lug the girl I'm taking to the Carson show back up to Santa Barbara (and she won't be up for two nights in a row). That's just too much driving for me.

Nah, just giving advice. For the last sale, I bought tickets in class, hence my laptop experience.

Oy, amidst all the new tour dates mentioned, we can't let this one get lost in the shuffle! EXACTLY FOUR MONTHS!!! Convenience reasons make this the only So. Cal concert I'll be able to attend, so I wanna make this a damn good one. Heck, I'm not opposed to waiting for the band afterwards, either, but I'm not sure how hard that would be.

For me, it's be thankful that it's a class I can bring a laptop to. But I suppose it's not that easy all the time for everyone. Is this a pre-sale or general sale? If a pre-sale, do you have a better opportunity to get on for the general? Depending on the demand for your particular venue, waiting until noon may or may not be okay. I'd try anyways.

Taylor Swift meets Coldplay
My roommate always talks about Taylor Swift being his dream girlfriend. I do think she has talent (heck, I'd say she's one of the better teenage artists out there), although I'm not gonna argue with weak songwriting. But she's pretty young, so maybe her grip on writing in general will improve over time.

Golly, I'm taking a class for Access also. Sometimes I just want to create tables for Chris, Jonny, Will, and Guy, and then relate them in random ways. No seriously, I hate that class and that program.

Rating Coldplay: "Don't Panic"
I actually don't disagree with much. Maybe give or take a point from one of the categories, but I consider Don't Panic to be more of an important benchmark song than anything. You gonna keep going?

Hmm...I think I need one of those New Year's ball-drop tickers that ticks down over the next four months (now EXACTLY four months today).

Politik from the 2003 live CD.

What do you think about the Coldplay t-shirts?
Even after Viva, people still can't stand the fact that I like Coldplay. The only difference is that instead of being called "too slow", it's now "too mainstream slow". Pssh, I'd totally buy a mini Coldplay-themed disco ball full of candy. :D

New Coldplay Discography!
^ I noticed that, and I played Clocks immediately, yet I still don't hear the "The" at the beginning. So I'm going to continue singing without it, but I have noticed a few little errors that are going to be hard to "train" myself to correct after cementing them in my mind for years. (ex. I flipped a bunch of words at the end of Square One, apparently) For the record, I've never trusted fan-submitted lyrics websites (even VLV is wrong on most of those), so this was very useful when I saw it.

Here's one for Lost!: http://coldplay.fanfire.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/fanfire.woa/wa/product?sourceCode=COLWEB&sku=COL45275 It may only be for males, though.

A Coldplay song that truely means someting to you...
As the signature indicates, I take Prospekt's March pretty personally. And I'm sure the majority of fans find some special way to connect with Fix You.

19-Jul-2009: Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, Irvine, CA - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews, Setlis
Bah, that'd be a lot of driving across LA for me. I could have easily stayed at my step-brother's house in Oceanside after the show on the 18th, then come back and hit the Irvine show next day, but the friend I'm taking to the Carson show needs to be taken back up to Santa Barbara afterwards (and she won't be up for both nights). Just too much hassle. You guys have fun stalking the band around Orange County, though. Knowing what fast food places they stop at could be some useful information. :laugh3:

Oh, how I wish I was richer. Irvine is no more than a two-hour drive for me, but I've already settled on dishing out money soon for U2, so I'm gonna have to settle with just the Carson show for Coldplay. But when I finally get a full-time job, I'm totally gonna be a concert stalker. :laugh3:

Disney Pixar's UP
May 19th for North America, but according to Wikipedia (who I'd take with a grain of salt), not until October for Europe.

People Who've Seen Coldplay Live:
That's tricky, then. Fans screaming are generally a part of any large-scale concert experience. You can still hear the songs, as the screaming is intermittent (usually loudest at the beginning, end, whenever a song starts, or whenever Chris speaks between songs), but hopefully your dad won't be too irked. Heck, encourage him to join in, as it's part of the fun! :D

People Who've Seen Coldplay Live:
YouTube, as a general rule of thumb, sucks. The picture quality sucks. The audio quality sucks. The users...well, you're better off ignoring them. Obviously you cannot simulate any concert experience on YouTube, expecially one that was filmed on a mediocre camcorder, compressed for acceptable YouTube standards (i.e. very low quality), then automatically compressed even further when uploading to the Tube. You don't get the atmosphere. You don't get the actual sound. You don't get the thousands of fans singing along with you and screaming.

Hardest Coldplay songs to sing
There are quite a few difficult B-sides, actually, many of which are from the Parachutes/pre-Parachutes era. Parts of "For You", for example.
