  1. That's what I was thinking (though maybe call it something else to seem more original), and just to keep folks satisfied, they can do that second disc thing which contains some B-sides, some mixes, maybe an unreleased VLV session track (Famous Old Painters plz), and maybe even a couple demos of potential upcoming tracks.
  2. Oh, I'd personally never get bored of them, but I do think indication of them already starting serious work on LP5 sounded a bit hasty. You can't expect to churn out a winning album once a year. It takes time, so while a postponement may disappoint some, I'm confident it's for a far better product in the end.
  3. Well, hot damn! That's dedication! :D My Violet Hill and Viva la Vida singles just came in the mail today, though I ordered them 2 months ago. :\
  4. You know that mysterious machine that generates paper butterflies? I want it. :laugh3: Speaking of which, I finally whipped up my own butterfly-themed sig banner. :D Very simple, but who cares.
  5. It's generally not a good thing when I hear Coldplay before bedtime, as that gets me wound up and excited. Maybe Fix You, though...
  6. I am Superfan. I come from the planet known as ChrisTon, and my only weakness is ChrisTonite. Some people call me "The Man of Strawberry Swing". I also have a dog named Christo. When I'm not busy making love to Lois Lost+, I'm busy stopping such devious criminals as Lex Lhuna or Joe Satriani. I can fly to any concert I want and even have X-ray vision that enables me to see through Chris's brain.
  7. ^ Same here. I have a feeling that A Whisper was a song included in order to give the second half of AROBTTH some form of rocky edge, since everything else in the second half is much more mellow and delicate. But it suffers from redundancy, which isn't always a bad thing, but A Whisper doesn't hook the listener. In addition, I'm just not a fan of its style, hence why I'm also not a fan of 1.36. In the end, the song comes off as filler and spoils what is otherwise my favorite Coldplay album.
  8. I suppose my problem with Reign of Love isn't that it's a bad song; after all it's very reminiscent of Parachutes. But that may be the problem - it doesn't flow that well with the album. Maybe it's just me, but I find Yes/Chinese Sleep Chant to be a far better combination than LIJ/ROL. And I really love LIJ.
  9. I'm actually gonna recommend you start her with some singles. Use variety with them; mix some upbeat Viva la Vida or In My Place with a piano-rich Clocks, a majestic and soothing Fix You, maybe a rocker like Violet Hill, and then top things off with Yellow so that she knows the roots. No harm in throwing in some less-mainstream gems (Politik, Strawberry Swing), but most of those you have to ease into more.
  10. Like me, I assume many of you who are listing these songs and hate them still refuse to chuck them out of your iTunes. Coldplay completionists! :D
  11. Okay....HERE GOES! :sneaky: A Whisper Reign of Love Lost+ 1.36 I Bloom Blaum Only Superstition Lhuna That's outright dislike. There's several more I'm lukewarm to (Daylight, Parachutes, Animals, What if, etc.) but I'll still listen to those no problem. I AM SUCH T3H H8er. :laugh3:
  12. What? WHAT? You mean the Reign of Love part, right? RIGHT? Because I always skip to the next track at that part. If not...may you face the wrath of a million papercuts caused by a million paper butterflies. :sneaky: I'll post my own list of treason in a bit.

  14. Yellow and Clocks are most certainly gonna be played for the rest of the band's careers, and I'm betting Viva la Vida will be also. My friend told me the other day that it must suck to write songs like that, because you're stuck singing them for life, and if you don't, your fans will riot. It's difficult to predict such a distant future, but I agree that both Fix You and In My Place have a lot of staying power (though IMP is largely for the "YEAH!" moments). And goodness, has this topic totally derailed from discussing Twisted Logic. :laugh3:
  15. Not to mention that other than VLV (which is insanity), Fix You is probably the biggest sing-along.
  16. Children are our future! Thank God the future isn't Michael Jackson.
  17. Fix You, no matter how overdone, is going nowhere. It's too big. I don't even see it leaving for the LP5 tour, and it may even outlive Speed of Sound. I don't mind cycling out Cemeteries of London every now and then for something, though. The live version isn't too remarkable.
  18. To me, this sounds similar to asking to list your 20 favorite songs. Let me keep the same format as the current show, but modify what's in place and still make it "flow": Life in Technicolor Violet Hill Clocks In My Place Speed of Sound Glass of Water Yellow Fix You White Shadows Strawberry Swing Talk (B-stage, normal version) Lost! (B-stage, piano) Postcards from Far Away (B-stage) Viva la Vida Square One The Scientist (acoustic) Swallowed in the Sea (acoustic) VLV Remix (w/ Coldwave) ----- Politik Lovers in Japan Death and All His Friends ----- Amsterdam (Encore) Life in Technicolor II (Encore) The Escapist
  19. Speed of Sound Feeling nostalgic, and that song was the clincher for me becoming a fan. :)
  20. Probably for the best; Chris's dancing attempts are quite kooky in a charming way, but if he tries to emulate Michael Jackson's dancing, there might be an implosion. :laugh3:
  21. The Middle East may not be the definititive theme of LP5, though. This just hints at how some songs may be inspired musically and lyrically.
  22. Listened to half of it, but gone back to HW projects since. Favorites so far are Kingdom of Rust and Winter Hill. Edit: Add House of Mirrors to that list. Only song I'm not too fond of is The Outsiders.
  23. Yes hasn't been played for over half a year. It was only at the beginning of the tour. Chinese Sleep Chant was only recently dropped, though (in favor of Glass of Water)
  24. ^ Haha, seriously. :wink3: U2 has Snow Patrol opening for some shows, and now Muse is rumored. Those are my 3 favorite bands after Coldplay, for crying out loud. On a Snow Patrol note, "Disaster Button" has gotten the most replay of all SP songs over the last month, which is odd since I never played it much when A Hundred Million Suns was released.
  25. The torrent can has been opened. :D I'm running off now to a play that a friend is in, but I'll be listening as soon as I get back.
