  1. Last year was my first Coldplay concert, and the folks here at Coldplaying told me I would love it. How right they were. :D So I guarantee YOU will love it! No. I'm sure "adult" is just a general ticket term. There are plenty of younger people at these. Buy ASAP. If any tickets are still available, they're probably not very good, and the potentially better ones that people sell on eBay or Yahoo or Craigslist or wherever are very expensive, and only get more and more expensive over time. After all, certain scalpers buy tickets for the sole purpose of selling them on auction for triple the price.
  2. I'm pretty sure I had a demo version of "Animals" on my iTunes before I heard the 'real' one just a few months ago, which had much more production. Oh, and for blatantly obvious alternate versions? "Lost!" and "Lovers in Japan".
  3. HERE'S THE FINALE! Considering the dark atmosphere of Coldfellas as a whole, I decided to end it in a cheery and lighthearted way. Likewise, it's the shortest chapter, but possibly the most humorous. Hope the three people who read the story enjoyed it! :) COLDFELLAS CHAPTER 8: POSTCARDS FROM FAR AWAY Rating: PG13
  4. Narration by Guy is a very interesting idea! I think a lot of us make everything up as we're writing, actually! Nice job! Not much, actually. There's just a brief resolution remaining, but I think it's a cute and happy one! :D

  6. I'm not sure if the butterfly complicates things on the right tag, but I do like the standard "COLDPLAY" font better on it. Honestly, I'll be a bit disappointed if they continue doing Speed of Sound acoustically by this point. I really liked the whole darkened room and spinning globes for the standard version. And because it gives us time to show off our excessive glowsticks.
  7. "Hello, Chris. I have kidnapped Will. If you ever wish to see him again, please bring yourself and 50 million dollars to *insert address*. Once you arrive, all the girls who have rejected me over the years will see how damn cool I am that I've blackmailed you. If you do not wish to see Will harmed, you will come alone. The choice is yours."
  8. Chapter 7, a.k.a. "How Many Coldplay Song Names Can I Fit Into a Single Sentence?" This is also pretty much the climax of the story. COLDFELLAS CHAPTER 7: DEATH WILL NEVER CONQUER Rating: PG13
  9. Oct. 25th...one week after my 21st birthday and getting totally hammered legally! The Rose Bowl sounds stellar, but since it's L.A., it's gonna fill up quick, so I hope my foolish lack-of-earlier-subscription isn't gonna bite me too hard. Gonna have to talk to my friend about this, who I'm making pay for this since I was the one who plopped down money for Coldplay.
  10. Many have pointed out that in live TV performances, especially on talk shows that aren't really made for music, he does sound pretty weak. But I think that he sounds fine in an actual venue performance, and I don't notice any problem on the album or EP, either.
  11. Aww...kitty goes bye-bye! :\ Don't worry, I use 4th wall stuff all the time to dodge blatant plot holes and whatnot. (If you really are considering a sequel, I'd honestly advise against it. Keep it cute as it is! :) )
  12. Anderson Cooper must also be a fan. No seriously, too many people use the number 360 for titles. Damn you, math.
  13. Chapter 6 brings us a series of highly unnecessary killings that no mob story is complete without! See, since this is a Coldplay fanfic, all non-Coldplay characters are entirely expendable. Otherwise, this is more of a lengthy and bloody build-up to the climax in Chapter 7. And no, Guy won't die in my story. COLDFELLAS CHAPTER 6: DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS Rating: PG13

  15. I'm just now discovering this band, and their sound is the most amazing I've discovered in some time. A new album looming soon means that I discovered them at a good time, but I'm gonna sink my teeth into some of their earlier stuff for a bit beforehand. Any suggestions for the best starting point? I've heard the new songs plus some songs from "Some Cities" on YouTube.
  16. Wow...that was...somber...:inquisitive: In all brutal honesty, the apparent death of Guy strikes me as sort of an anticlimax, even though it seems to be meant in a humorous sense. Overall, though, I enjoyed the story from start until a few lines from the finish. :D Yes, I'm paying for Wi-Fi in SD. That's how I'm here right now. :laugh3:
  17. To start off, I got into them with X&Y, so go ahead and form as many generalizations about this list as you want. :laugh3: 1. A Rush of Blood to the Head Just an outright brilliant album that really put Coldplay on the map. I must have heard "Clocks" over a thousand times by now, and it never gets any less amazing. "Politik" and "Amsterdam" give this album both the strongest opening and closing of any Coldplay album. It's not perfect, as "A Whisper" is my least favorite song that made it onto an album (i.e. excluding B-sides), but damn, I wish I was a fan during this era. Top Songs - Clocks, Politik, Amsterdam, A Rush of Blood to the Head 2. Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends An incredibly successful reinvention that brought it a whole new legion of fans while invigorating the existing ones. It's certainly the most theme-heavy album with some great songwriting and obvious Eno influence. I still don't like "Reign of Love", but that's a three-minute filler blemish in another 43 minutes of bliss. Top Songs - Viva la Vida, Lovers in Japan, Violet Hill, Death and All His Friends 3. X&Y I admit to a bias for this being my first CP album, as even though it's down at #3, I love it nearly as much as the three above albums. Some have referred to X&Y as being 13 singles instead of one album, and I'd mostly agree with that, hence the lower placement. But the songs are damn good single material, and oddly enough, it's gotten the most replay from me over the last month. Top Songs - Speed of Sound, Talk, Square One, White Shadows 4. Parachutes Don't be fooled by the bottom placement; Coldplay owes so very much to Parachutes. It was a bigger breakthrough debut album than most other bands get, and "Yellow" continues to be cherished and will through the remainder of their career. I suppose my problem is that the band still feels stuck in "transition" mode to the big leagues (heck, two of the songs were on an earlier EP). In terms of "easy listening", there's no better choice in the world, but Coldplay would go on to do much greater things in a very short time. Top Songs - Trouble, Everything's Not Lost, Yellow, High Speed
  18. I just found out I'm leaving for San Diego from tonight until Sunday night. So I may as well greenlight Chapter 5 since I won't be able to over the weekend. Here we have the confrontation after quite literally killing off Joe Satriani! Note for some reason, Guy becomes a punching bag for every joke here on out. COLDFELLAS CHAPTER 5: CEMETERIES OF LONDON Rating: PG13

  21. Oh dear, so many more fanfics to read! :stunned: Kittens [Part 4] - alyssabells, I'm currently infatuated with this girl named Alyssa, so as a result, for some reason I read yours incredibly carefully. POOR KITTY! Lovers in Japan - Keep it up! People ought to use song names to inspire fanfics more often. For instance, I've always wanted to know about "The Scientist". Crossedwires - Thank goodness, a straight and canon romance story! That mere change of pace alone makes it not "stupid". I'll read the next two a bit later and maybe post Chapter 5 of Coldfellas.
  22. To the sewers! Maybe we can take some recordings down there! :laugh3:

  25. Probably, except students will enjoy it! Picked up a physical copy today, fulfilling my good deed of giving the band money for something I technically already had (though not legit). After a couple weeks, I've settled on "Breathe" as my favorite song on the album, and I finally know what Brian Eno means when he calls it the "most U2 song". It's got everything - ripping guitar, great vocals, very energetic feel, and a fair amount of innovation. Sums up U2 perfectly. Really, the only two songs I now don't like are "Get on Your Boots" and "Stand Up Comedy". Not only do they feel like inferior versions of a few past U2 songs, but their lyrics are pretty dorky. I'm still trying to warm up to "Cedars of Lebanon", but overall, I consider this a successful experimental effort. Heck, the two songs I mentioned not liking are more traditional, so the beauty of NLOTH lies with what's different.
