  1. Damn, you guys took all the shoe, boot, and duck jokes. And the only reason I'm not coming up with something else is because I tired of jokes about the man and his wacky misadventures a whole 7 years ago. Rest his poor sole. Yeah. Sole.
  2. Well, I got my video project out of the way at the end of last week. Twas a music video I made to Prospekt's March (cut off Poppyfields at the end to keep things brief). :nice: Actual exam stuff starts tomorrow and ends Thursday. My ones on Mon. and Wed. look brutal, though my Thu. one is essentially 50 blatantly obvious multiple choice questions, half of which are true/false. Almost insulting (the big project was due last week), but I'll be done after it.
  3. 7 White Shadows
  4. Well, that was mostly before "Human" hit the airwaves, which I hear hourly in a similar fashion now. Maybe it's just my local station that had a fixation with it for almost two years, though I still hear it occasionally.
  5. Coldplay are my parents too! Does that make us siblings or something? Because we'd have a huuuuge family then...
  6. Tee hee hee... :laugh3: Keep 'em coming, folks! I mentioned starting a fanfic like two weeks ago in here, and actually stopped for a week, but started progressing again, now past the halfway point in the story. It'll be multiple parts, but I'm not comfortable posting until it's all done just to make some final modifications. And that thing I said about trying to dodge the Chris/Jonny stuff in my story? Well, that attempt died pretty quickly, I must say.
  7. Well, you have to give Lil Wayne credit for weaseling his way into countless songs by countless other artists, most of which are in another genre. And I'm still predicting that he takes the Grammy for Best Album given his acclaim, even if I never once cared for his genre in general, and therefore cannot tell the good from the bad. :P
  8. Whoo crap, even though finals week for me is technically next week, two of my professors are leaving next week and thus holding their finals this Thursday and Friday. That's really bad, given how I also have two other non-final exams scheduled for Friday. Eep. Actual finals week will be a cakewalk compared to the coming few days. And after Monday, I'm done with math class for the rest of my life, having completed all my requirements for that subject. It's the most up-in-the-air grade I have at the moment, as I've aced most quizzes yet flunked the midterm for some odd reason.
  9. Parachutes: Everything's Not Lost - Much of the rest of Parachutes seems too solemn for radio play. Though a radio edit may also cut a portion of the song given its lengthy nature, and that's not even counting Life is for Living, which would not be included at all. AROBTTH: Green Eyes - Certainly one of the band's most popular non-singles and would fit well aside actual singles, but then again, I could also say that about a few other Rush of Blood songs. X&Y: White Shadows - I'm going to just assume this is not a single, and it's one of my favorite tracks overall from X&Y. Again, a few from this album could have worked. VLVODAAHF: Cemeteries of London - Honestly, this album has less single material, as it's structured in a way to make it seem like more of an album (stuff like DAAHF wouldn't work). Prospekt's March: Glass of Water - Any question about this? I thought this would most certainly come before LiT ii. Assuming that wasn't their last single for a long while, GOW is still a possibility.
  10. Saw that vid a few weeks back. And while Crack the Shutters is one of my favorites from the new album, I really don't think too highly of the video. My local radio station has been giving away free tickets to the actual show for this past week, though that offer may have ended now. Meh.
  11. Agreed. I've just started getting into Keane, having only heard a few of their songs before, though giving their latest release a listen, the title track sticks out the most to me. I still need to check out their earliest stuff, though, and maybe actually buy their stuff instead of listening to it on YouTube.
  12. Oooh, yay! I get to be the horrible conformist who loves "Read My Mind" best! Seriously, I loved it before it was a radio-whored single.

Pretend to be a hobo and beg for spare change. :laugh3:
  14. I've noticed not only the appreciation for one another's band, but that many fans of Coldplay are fans of The Killers, and vice versa. Heck, Chris even broke out into a cover of "Human" in the middle of VLV at the concert I went to last week.
  15. Oh dear. Apples and bananas. I think there's a kids' song about that. Still a very funny story, though getting ever-more-twisted (and pervy at points). Keep 'em coming, my friend. Starting jotting down some lines for the start of my own fanfic, actually. Chris actually comes off as sort of a dork, Guy just gets ignored by everyone, haven't developed a personality for Will yet, and Jonny...is just Jonny.
  16. Looking at the competition, I really do think Viva La Vida has a good chance at either Song or Record of the Year, so Clocks won't feel so lonely anymore. And I'm not too impressed with much of its competition. I mean, Bleeding Love? Bah, most downloads and extensive Top 40 exposure do not necessarily make a good song. Album of the Year may be a little more difficult, especially with Radiohead, but it's not out of the question. Rather doubtful about the categories Violet Hill has been nominated for, however, as I think those are some much stronger contenders than what VLV has to go against. But yeah, never cared for the AMA's, but the Grammy's really are the big deal, so this is where it's gonna count most. And I truly feel that where they've been robbed in past awards, they'll take home the gold here by winning a good few.
  17. A worthy final 3, which makes me sad to boot any of these. Going with LiTii.
  18. As much as I enjoy most of the songs, I'm gonna axe a few off my list just to make room and not overcrowd my fictional album (too stuffed = bad): 1. Life in Technicolor 2. Lost! 3. Cemeteries of London 4. Glass of Water 5. 42 6. Lovers in Japan (Osaka Sun) 7. Postcards from Far Away 8. Viva La Vida 9. Violet Hill 10. Strawberry Swing 11. Rainy Day 12. Prospekt's March / Poppyfields 13. Death and All His Friends / The Escapist Threw Postcards exactly in the middle seeing as how I feel it's a good "intermission" track. Chose the original LiT for the sole purpose of having the connection with The Escapist at the end (even though I actually prefer LiT II). Was a little cautious about throwing Rainy Day in there, as I wanted to space out the upbeat stuff. And while I like NMFWTTG and all, I feel DAAHF is a more appropriate closer.
  19. This song actually sends a chill down my spine at parts, and those really aren't the types of songs that I can listen to repeatedly, even if they're really good. Regardless, I plan on giving my contribution when the time comes. Now the question remains about whether Coldplay will continue to feed us this steady stream of new material (there's still a good 5 Viva leftovers), or if we're now finally in the dark and stuck there for quite some time, forced to drive past songs into our heads (or God forbid, discover another band), lest we starve.
  20. Interesting. That's a good word to describe things upon just one listen. Certainly haunting in parts, though I agree that it lacks Chris for a song that is pegged as being a Coldplay song featuring Kylie. Though I think Kylie's voice may actually suit this song better than Chris's. This one's gonna take time to form a solid opinion about. Heck, I still haven't decided if I like Rainy Day or not.
  21. Hahaha, oh dear. It was the right move not to lose sleep over this last night. I have a couple classes to run to today, but as I come back from each of them, I expect to witness either more anxiety or an all-out explosion of excitement.
  22. Haha, EPIC. Read all four parts back-to-back. Great stuff and gave me some worthy chuckles in parts. Looking forward to the rest. Might give this a shot myself, even though it's been a while since I wrote ridiculous fan-fiction. Yes, ridiculous is my style, though I would likely be light on the Jonny jokes. Though I'll probably wait for THE ADVENTURE to end first.
  23. He just dissed vanilla. Vanilla is an awesome flavor in anything.
  24. Cute. The best thing I got for elementary school music class was Jingle Bell Rock. Gotta love how a group of 5th graders can sing Coldplay songs better than the Jonas Brothers can.
