The Fray
The leak is streaming, not a download, so I'd go ahead and give it a listen beforehand. I'm personally gonna buy it because I support the band and because their new music - if a retread - is still good. "Happiness" is a nice closer with some powerful parts, though I still prefer "Trust Me".

The Fray
Ladies and gentlemen, I am leaking excitement! An official leak, mind you. http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/fray/2360863/album.jhtml?popThis=playIt() Can't be long until somebody rips it, if somebody hasn't already. Edit: Listened to the full thing. First impression? Favorite song is certainly "When the Story Ends", though most of the album feels like "How to Save a Life 2.0" rather than a full follow-up after a 4 years. There's still the 2 iTunes-exclusive tracks nobody's heard yet, at least.

Things people who claim to be a coldplay fan should NEVER say
I sincerely hope you didn't turn it off. I'll do a lot of tedious stuff for girls (probably more than I should), but if one told me to turn off Coldplay, I wouldn't take that crap and I'd totally make her walk home. :sneaky: EDIT: Now that I recall, I had X&Y playing on the car ride to prom two years back, and my prom date's best friend told me to turn off because it was "so slow". Both me and my prom date totally flipped on her.

Coldplay @ GRAMMY Awards 2009 | Performed Lost & Viva La Vida | WON 3 AWARDS! [PICTURES/VIDEOS IN FI
Album wars again, hmm? What can I say, I love 'em all. :D Talking about the Grammys again, I'm hoping CBS has live streaming of the event online, as I don't want to have to deal with the pesky West Coast time-delay while everyone else already knows who won the awards. :veryangry2:

Small Reminders/Updates on Coldplay.com (feat. Roadie #42!)
If it were up to Jonny, he'd never do anything in a video again. Thank goodness it's not up to Jonny. :P

Why Viva La Vida wasn't as good as AROBTTH
Well, Viva's themes are certainly different. Lots of life/death references regarding gloom and confusion, as seen in 42, Cemeteries, etc. It's not as emotional as past albums, but emotion wasn't the direction they were aiming for (heck, they were even criticized for not branching out earlier). So while neither the album nor its EP have a "Fix You" or "The Scientist" on them, it's not as if they tried to replicate those and failed. (And for the record, I do love AROBTTH most)

first Coldplay's song that you listened...
Probably Yellow, though that was well before I was a fan, as I wasn't really into music in general back then.

'The Goldrush' released on 'Life in Technicolor ii' 7"Vinyl [LISTEN IN FIRST POST]
In regards to Will, here's Chris's comment I pulled from the Wiki: "We're also hoping to do this thing where we give away a song with every ticket. We have this song called The Goldrush, which Will sings. We want to play it as part of the show, so we'd like to give it away with the ticket. That way the only people that know that song will be the people coming to the concerts." That certainly does sound like he's implying a live performance, now that I think about it. Perhaps DWNC will be cycled out in favor of this?

U2
Never seen U2 live before, but I'm gonna make a real effort this go-around. $100 isn't cheap but also isn't unfair, especially considering how I paid more than that for Coldplay.

The Snow Patrol Thread
No one mentions it much, but my favorite may be "Please Just Take These Photos from My Hands". Though I also like "Crack the Shutters" (which has received excessive radio play here) and "Set Down Your Glass".

Things people who claim to be a coldplay fan should NEVER say
"My favorite song is When I Ruled the World!" You'd be surprised how often I hear that. :bigcry::furious3:

Coldplay to perform at SuperBowl XXXVI?
The article specifically mentions bands from the 70's being a turn-off for younger viewers, so even if they inch up a decade or two, the context indicates that Coldplay may still be a bit too "recent". And I don't even know the difference between a touchback and a safety.:P Heck, when the game is actually playing, I take my breaks for the bathroom and drinks. I only stay for the commercials and maybe halfimte.

U2
If this album truly is all-out "experimental", it could very well be that "Get on Your Boots" is simply the most radio-friendly song on it. I mean, on HTDAAB, I felt several songs were superior to "Vertigo". What I'm now expecting from this album is not a full-fledged return to The Joshua Tree or anything, but rather a superior version of their stuff from the 90's. Some time in the last week of Feb. sounds probable.

The Fray
I can tell you the video was shot in Chicago, but I have no idea what building it is (not ever having been to Chicago).

Chris Martin reported in the credits of Shawty Lo's song 'Roll The Dice'
It'd be nice if that page actually had some citations.:inquisitive:

SCRUBS!!! NEW SEASON!! (Why no episode this week?)
Actually, I think Season 6 is where it started to slip up, even if they started some big plot advancements. Neither 6 nor 7 were bad seasons, although the show's creator has said in a few recent interviews that he wants a return to glory for this final season, indicating that he, too, felt they could have done better.

Guess the song!
Strawberry Swing "Like a first born child"

What do you think of Chris's quote?
Chris sometimes comes off as so modest that his statements are actually self-detrimental, but he usually says those things about Coldplay as a whole, so I'm in no beef over him giving props to his band mates. Though, is he talking about LP4 or LP5? Because I felt the others actually did take center stage quite a bit during Viva.

Death Cab For Cutie!
The exact words that popped into my head when I read the news earlier this month. Ben Gibbard may be a talented person, but Zooey is a totally frickin' sexy talented person who I've fawned over ever since Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. (oddly enough, her band is also listed on this same compilation album) On another note, Ben recently did a collaboration with Feist to be put on a charity album. It was streaming on MySpace a few days ago, but seems to have been taken down now.

Prospekt: Coldplay Head Back to the Studio With Brian Eno!
Hail to the bald man. Hopefully they're mainly experimenting with styles and focusing on some basic groundwork rather than trying to rush something out by this year (in spite of what they mentioned in past interviews). I want Viva's successor to blow me away just as much as Viva did, and that means the band is gonna want to take their time. Besides, the VLV era still has quite of bit of life in it yet!

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
So apparently the band's next project is an album of covers: http://news.q4music.com/2009/01/killers_plan_covers_album_1.html

The Fray
Yeah, "Trust Me" is probably my favorite also. Here in North America, our dates are written "month-day-year". So the official site reads February 3rd. Other regions may get it a few days earlier or later.

Alex James: I turned down Coldplay for being boring
A sucker is born every minute. Granted, Alex James is one of those really big suckers like the kind you get at a carnival or theme park.

'The Goldrush' released on 'Life in Technicolor ii' 7"Vinyl [LISTEN IN FIRST POST]
Well, one more week before we can hear it in full? It's really hard to judge a song from 10 seconds, but I'm liking what I'm hearing.
