1. Here's some news for the scoffers and the establishment talking heads who have engaged in a propaganda assault to try and hoodwink Americans into thinking Paul is not a frontrunner - $4.2+ million doesn't grow on trees and it isn't plucked out of cyberspace without real people being behind it. The concept for the November 5th "money bomb" which was responsible for the surge in donations yesterday originates from the movie V For Vendetta, the 2005 cult dystopian hit which grasped the imaginations of many with its extreme relevance to modern day politics in America. It was organized in large part through a specially constructed website at http://www.thisnovember5th.com/ More than $4.2 Million in one day! Why Ron Paul's Message is Winning Yesterday, the Ron Paul for president campaign raised $4.2 million dollars from its grassroots supporters. 37,000 of them gave an average of $129 each to the campaign, inspired by the movie "V for Vendetta" (Remember, Remember, the 5th of November!). This is completely unprecedented in politics! The only candidate in history to raise more than this in one day was John Kerry in September, 2004, who raised $5 million the day he accepted the democratic nomination. The huge difference was that most of the Kerry money was from the corporate elite, not $100 donations from average Joe voter! The pundits will be out trying to make sense of this phenomenon today, including the neocon radio talk show hosts. They will make up crazy conspiracies like "it must be the Clintons donating!" and they will try to come up with excuses like "well these aren't republicans who are donating anyway". They will put forth the media-spun poll numbers and claim "Ron Paul is not a factor anyway, he's only polling at 3%!" (which even if you take these land line polls seriously, is wrong: he's at 5% in the latest CNN poll). The real question is, why is this man and his ideas so popular? It's not an easy question, and there certainly is no sound byte answer here! Here's a quick overview to explain the $4.2 million in one day: 1. A large percentage of Americans actually agree with Ron Paul's ideas regarding freedom and liberty, which no other candidate is discussing, i.e., Paul would put an end to the Patriot Act. 2. Ron Paul is anti-establishment and anti-status quo. Even today, Americans have an inherent tendency to go against authority, or as some might say, a rebellious streak. Ron Paul represents this like no other candidate. 3. There are actually millions of libertarians in the U.S. who have been sitting on the sidelines in the past few presidential elections. Ron Paul coming on to the national spotlight has given them hope that they haven't had in a long time. In the past, libertarians running in the Libertarian party would be lucky to get 1% of the vote, most did not even do that well. Now, we have a candidate who has 1,100 Meetup groups with 70,000 members, growing by the day! 4. Many feel that NOW is the time for real change in D.C., and voting for a democrat is really not going to make a whole lot of difference from what we have now- most of the democrats will keep the war and military-industrial complex alive, while taking more of your money in the process. Other GOP candidates offer either more of the same, unpopular G.W. Bush policies, or even want to take it a step further and get us involved in a nuclear World War III! 5. Ron Paul is the only true anti-war candidate from either two of the major parties, and 70+% are now against the war. 6. Ron Paul is clearly not running for president to "take power", in fact, he is a reluctant candidate who wants to take the power AWAY from the federal government. Everyone else running is going to "run the country", Ron Paul wants the people themselves to run it. I could probably list a dozen or so more reasons why Ron Paul is exploding in popularity, but I have to go work and make some fiat dollars in what is left of the free market in the U.S.! Video made 3 weeks ago, before this fund drive. You've got to love this guy! www.RonPaul2008.com Another donation day is scheduled for Veterans Day, this Sunday, November 11.
2. I'm just killing time while venting opinions.....it's 3:27am and I am going for freezing cold early morning walk around 4:30am. I'm just glad this ain't in the News section.
3. Jesus....what's this.....another survey. When did these schmucks think it was a great idea to complete waste their lives in this "study". What a sad life. Filling our 'Newspapers' with utter crap - there's a lot going on in the world and they mislead us with this rubbish!!! Their birth certificates are probably all apologies from the condom companies.
4. What a pile of shit.....they don't know this....another silly survey which is likely very unscientific. Who wants to carry this type of survey out for crying out loud.......mirror salesmen? Even worse....why do terrible 'news'papers print them as if we should care? The headline should be.... IDIOTS WASTE TIME ON VANITY SURVEY ...in fact that headline also doubles up as the full story. Next.

9. I don't think Hoodies have the capacity the absorb information. That's the thing about clothes, you know......at the end of the day, they just are life-less fabric.
10. GazeboflossUK replied to low76's topic in Coldplay
Exactly. Some people care a scary amount about the band members. Sure...I don't dislike them - not at all - and I find them to be quite funny and normal in interviews. I just want to hear some good music.....and hopefully Coldplay might release a good one next year.
11. GazeboflossUK replied to low76's topic in Coldplay
Well, whatever....I could write I better album. Most people who say they could actually couldn't - you are right - but I could.... ....and probably will.
12. GazeboflossUK replied to low76's topic in Coldplay
But I actually could write a better album.
13. So because a tenth of 16-18 years olds are not in education, employment or training it means the other nine tenths have to be at school until 18. What if you want to just live in the wild? :) Nope....you must stay in school until 18.....at least in 2015.

Talk video embarrassing? Yes. X&Y not very good? Almost, I think. 3-4 'good' tracks. (SOS, White Shadows, Square One, most of Low) Still not gold though. Some forgettable ones and a few terrible ones = (Twisted Logic, A Message, Fix You - makes me want to puke up) It's just bad decisions in the writing. I could have told them what to do for gods sake! Length of the new album? Not a problem really. 42 mins is ok. I could make a better album than X&Y (oh yes, I mean that). There are some songs on there that I agree are good but as an album goes.....not up to their early standards. New one might be alot better - from some of the coldplay.com messages it SEEMS as if they are going in a direction I will like......away from X&Y.
15. Memos Prove Rumsfeld Directed Psychological Terror Campaign Hyping climate of fear, threat of violence to achieve political objectives is the very definition of terrorism New Pentagon memos released by the Washington Post prove that ex-U.S. defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld directed a psychological campaign of terror in order to achieve political objectives, making Rumsfeld himself a terrorist according to the very definition of the term. "Donald Rumsfeld, the former United States defence secretary, tried to maintain an atmosphere of fear in America as part of the Iraq war propaganda campaign, a series of leaked memos has shown," reports the London Telegraph. In an April 2006 memo, Rumsfeld encouraged Pentagon officials to "Keep elevating the threat" and "Talk about Somalia, the Philippines etc. Make the American people realise they are surrounded in the world by violent extremists". Rumsfeld also urged his staff to concoct "bumper sticker statements" (mindless clichés) in an attempt to garner continued support for the occupation of Iraq. In the most telling e mail, the former defense secretary ordered the Pentagon to "link Iraq to Iran," heralding the birth of the now saturated propaganda talking point that Iran is fueling the violence in Iraq and helping to kill U.S. troops, despite the fact that British officials patrolling the Iran-Iraq border admit that there is "No concrete proof that Iran is supplying Iraq." Rumsfeld's obsession with micro-managing every aspect of the propaganda offensive upon the American people led to him disseminating anything up to 60 "snowflakes" or memos every single day, much to the chagrin of Pentagon employees. His insistence that an artificial climate of fear be maintained in America about the threat of new terror attacks in order to sell the unpopular war in Iraq are the smoking gun for criminal charges to be initiated. By several of the very definitions of terrorism, Rumsfeld has provably engaged in terrorism, by hyping the threat of terror to achieve a political objective. Definitions of terrorism - A psychological strategy of war for gaining political ends by deliberately creating a well-founded climate of fear among the civilian population. - The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence against people or property to coerce or intimidate governments or societies. - The systematic use of terror, the deliberate creation and exploitation of fear for bringing about political change. - The use of - or threatened use of - criminal violence against civilians or civilian infrastructure to achieve political ends through fear and intimidation, rather than direct confrontation. - The calculated use of violence (or threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear. Under any of the definitions of terrorism listed above, Rumsfeld has demonstrably engaged in terror by artificially hyping the fear of new attacks as part of a strategy to achieve a political objective.
16. Oh, yes. Let the lining of rich man's pockets begin. Don't get me wrong....I love Christmas....and not for any religious reasons like is meant.....but for the real chance to attempt and forget about the daily nonsense we all are subjected to, eat some fantastic food with family and friends, give to people, as well as receive. ...I'm already sick and tired of the same old rubbish Christmas songs and adverts.....which seem to increase in numbers every year. ...I'm already sick of hearing people worry about things they NEED to do and shitty presents they'll end up buying. ...I'm already sick, sick, sick.... But, I still do enjoy it......honest. ;) I just hate all the above I mentioned and it's getting harder to ignore all the corporate crap. And when I say crap, I mean utter throw away horse shit.
17. It's about time! They've been getting away with this for ages.
