  1. :laugh3: That's pretty funny. Rolling Stone has always been as much about popular culture as it is about music. I could find covers that are even worse. I still think that some of their feature articles on different artists are the best around. Never judge a book, or in this case a magazine, by it's cover.:D
  2. 1. No, I, too, think she is absolutely horrible live BUT 2. Why in the world would she change her formula? She's winning every award under the sun and one of the few artist who is still selling records by the truck load.
  3. Grammys are pretty fun. I don't think anyone takes them seriously. I like to see a few good performances from bands I like and see what other type of popular music is out there. I think if your artist striving for a Grammy, you've got some problems.
  4. I was at that show. John Mayer is ok. Not a huge fan, but he has some good songs. I could do without all the face contortions, and his voice reminds me of a poor man's Dave Matthews.
  5. ^ I can confirm that they were in a Hollywood Hills house while recording this album. They were supposed to be in Los Angeles for about a month, so the fact that they are done puts them on schedule. Still, it's amazing if the rumors are true. The thought of new Radiohead is very exciting.
  6. The thing about pop music (I know this is a generalization) is that it doesn't usually translate well when it is performed live. Most people like pop because they appreciate the high production value that goes into the songs. When played live, they are either weak or must be sung over playback. Another thing I don't like about many pop artists is that they don't write their own songs. As much as Taylor Swift sounds like a horse, I respect that she writes her own songs and can play multiple instruments. I really like pop music when it sounds genuine and organic. That's a hard thing to find, though.
  7. I thought DMB was strong. Oddly, I liked Beyonce, too. Best part about Taylor Swift's performance came when Stevie Nicks was able to drown out her voice. I like Taylor, but that girl is tone deaf.
  8. I didn't know this was a comeback. She is as musically insignificant as she has always been.
  9. I'm going to watch, but so weak compared to last year. 2009 had Radiohead, McCartney, U2, Coldplay, and Robert Plant. This year is crap.
  10. You don't think that sounds bad? The Chili Peppers should never do another cover because, basically, Anthony's vocals suck! I mean, they work for RHCP songs, but that's about it. It was always John who did the covers because he has vocal range. Anthony's voice is limited. I don't think you will notice much of a difference once the Chili Peppers start playing their own songs live. To me, it's more when they go back into the studio. John, more than any other member, brought a sense of melody to the band, especially from Californication forward.
  11. ^ yeah, I agree with all that. It's just going to be different. It doesn't mean it will be bad, it just won't be the same without John. We'll have to wait and see how it turns out.
  12. I talked to a friend who went to this. He said they sucked. But he said it had nothing to do with Josh, it had more to do with Anthony trying to sound like Neil Young, which I would never recommend.
  13. Man, wish I could of got in. Thom, Jonny, Colin, and Ed came over to sign autographs and chat with fans. That was pretty cool. Plus, got to hear most of the show from outside. True, not as good, but I also didn't pay $500.
  14. The bends was sick. Lucky is on now.
  15. Didn't see arch enemy tobey maguire, but Justin timberlake is here, which is almost as bad.
  16. Im here. It's like a fortress. You can hear outside. They are playing morning bell right now. I saw Thom, Colin, and Nigel. No autographs or anything. They are now playing how to dissapear completely.
  17. Just drove by the Henry Fonda, and the line is already around the corner. You know those nutty radiohead fans.
  18. Alright, I'm off to check out the Radiohead spectacle. I will report back with any news on my mobile phone. Right now, I have a freaking headache like you wouldn't believe. By the way, I'm still looking for my arch enemy, Tobey Maguire.
  19. It's true. Not only did Spiderman 3 suck, so does Tobey Maguire. Both are facts.
  20. ^ I believe that a family member is sick. I also believe that they are tired of each other. I believe both things. How tired of each other are they? I guess we will find out.
  21. Spiderman, fool!
  22. Tobey maguire still sucks, though.
  23. Posts...man, tomorrow is going to suck.
