  1. OK... some pics. :) Dallas Cowboys Stadium Concert advertisement playing on screens outside stadium
  2. ^Patience, Nancy! :D the show last night was just... excellent. I'm out of superlatives! Muse opened and they did a fabulous set... absolutely loved them. I was lucky enough to see U2 back on the Elevation Tour, which I loooooved because All That You Can't Leave Behind is one of my favorite U2 albums. This tour was certainly more grand, but every bit as engaging and wonderful. They opened with 3 songs from NLOTH, my favorite being Magnificent (though part of me still expects to see Coldplay emerge after it!). My first goosebump moment came when the audience sang the beginning of I Still Haven't Found. Sooo cool! Other highlights for me: Stuck in a Moment (acoustic). I was never a huge fan of this song on the album, but it was really, really lovely as they performed it last night. Just Bono and Edge on guitar singing background vocals. loved it. 'No Line on the Horizon' (the song) was also really, really great live. Another favorite was City of Blinding Lights. I just love that song! While he was singing it, Bono pulled a young teenager out of the audience and walked with him around the stage. That was pretty cool. The audience was really great, too, I thought. Tons of people up and dancing to every song. It was a great atmosphere. The only thing I was not particularly fond of was the remix of Crazy Tonight... I really like that song on the album and it just didn't have the same impact done as a remix, I thought. The show was in the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium, which was a really impressive building. The giant screens used for the games were off and pulled way up high to accomodate the top of the claw. The roof was closed, which made the audience seem even more massive than it was. I think I read in the Dallas paper they estimated around 75 thousand attended last night. The only negative thing I heard was that the sound in the top tiers was a little muddled. I was supposed to have been way up there, but ended up in a mid-level suite, thanks to some friends with connections. That was awesome.... and they sounded great from where I was. :) Anyway, setlist: Breathe Get on Your Boots Magnificent Mysterious Ways Beautiful Day I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For Stuck In A Moment No Line on the Horizon Elevation Until The End of the World Unforgettable Fire City of Blinding Lights Vertigo I'll Go Crazy - Remix Sunday Bloody Sunday MLK Walk On One Where The Streets Have No Name ---- Ultraviolet With or Without You Moment of Surrender and a vid: [ame= ] [/ame] I took some pictures, which came out horribly, but I'll try to post them later today. :) Great, great show. If you ever have a chance to see them anywhere in the world, DO IT!! Oh, and Muse, too!
  3. Hey guys! I'm so happy you all are doing this! Good luck!! :D
  4. Saw them supporting U2 last night. They were absolutely BRILLIANT! They sounded fantastic and had a great video show to go along with their set: Uprising Map of the Problematique Supermassive Black Hole Hysteria Undisclosed Desires Unnatural Selection Starlight Time is Running Out Here are the (short) vids I took: [ame= ] [/ame] [ame= ] [/ame] [ame= ] [/ame] [ame= ] [/ame] so, so excellent and am hoping, hoping, hoping they'll do a headlining tour of the US next year!
  5. ^ I'm no expert, Johku, but if you need another person, I'll join you! :D edit: I take it back... You should form a coldplaying team with those on here who really know their stuff! I'd love it if you guys won!!
  6. ^Sorry, I don't. I do know that they have two floor sections- an inner and outer pit. don't know if there's a diff in how you get tickets. Also couldn't say about joining the fan club. There are some perks, I know, but it seemed too expensive to really be worth it. I know Rishi (dfit00) was in the inner-circle/pit the other night... He may have more insight!
  7. Thank you! (it's Nancy, right? I'm Jen :nice:) I'll definitely come back with a review and pics from far, far away! ;)
  8. Morning, all! :nice: You peeps in Europe best get on this: http://www.snowpatrol.com/pubquiz.html I haven't been able to locate the terms and conditions, but I doubt they'd fly my butt all the way out there from the States! :(
  9. ^You're going to the Houston gig right, Angie? Do you have GA tix or seats? That's crazy that it's such a huge production they need to start setting up two days in advance! Leaving for Dallas in 3 hours!!!
  10. @Katie- really nice argument. That is exactly the way I feel about this discussion.
  11. LOVE the descriptions, Mr. Snig. I voted for AROBBTH for the guys' look... but I loved the Coldplay in Space aesthetic of the X&Y tour and the actual music from the VLV era a little more. So yeah, basically all of them. :P
  12. Of course! :P  edit to add:
  13. indeed. and fitz... wtf is up with your sig?!
  14. ^I love it when bands do things like that! Just saw this on amazon... If you don't already have the new single, In These Arms, you can download it on amazon now for FREE. :D [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KWH1OO/ref=dm_ty_trk]http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KWH1OO/ref=dm_ty_trk[/ame]
  15. @Bianca- of course you're allowed to call me Jen! :P And everyone... thanks for the recommendation. Looks like I'll be looking into When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up :D @Kimmi- I'm with you, I definitely appreciate when a band evolves... it gets boring otherwise! People are always complaining that Coldplay are not the same Coldplay who did Parachutes... and they're right, they're not! And I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing! I mean, it's been nearly 10 years- their lives have changed dramatically and so should their music! But that's my opinion, anyway...
  16. ^Lovely to meet you, Anna... and Thanks! :nice: Hey Brooke!
  17. hey girls! there are lots of new people here! :stunned: Hi all, I'm Jen :nice: wtf are/were you all listening to?? (too lazy to go all the way back and find out!) :P ahhh... just what I needed. a little bit of the lovely Mr. Martin to brighten my gloomy day. :wacky:
  18. Re-listening to the hour... I get a little shiver (no other word for it! :P) everytime he intros "Shiver"! :D
  19. ^at Dillard's- it's a department store here in the south. And yeah, it was really random. Right after that, Single Ladies came on!
  20. was shopping for shoes at a department store this afternoon and White Shadows came on- loud, too! not Viva, Not Speed of Sound or even Talk... WHITE SHADOWS!! :wacky:
  21. :lol::rolleyes:
  22. @Kite- I love Muse, but I will agree that there is a definite Queen vibe going on there! :P @Rishi- those pics are FABULOUS!!
  23. @Bianca- which early album would you recommend I get first, Songs for Polar Bears or We Still Need to Clear Up?
  24. Yay! you definitely should! I forgot to mention that the best of is called Up to Now. I think you can pre-order it now, too... ;)
