Karen, Elena, Imke- the first question on the SP quiz is up. it's a toughie :P btw, Johku, if you're needing to leave the team, you should see an option to "quit team" on the "My Team" tab. I'm not exactly sure how it all works, don't know if we each answer the question, or if an answer is finalized once one person enters it....?

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
don't forget the Sirius Muse event tomorrow afternoon... Krista posted the link for the online trial a page or two back... I heard this morning they'll do an interview with the guys @ 9am EST and then at 12pm EST the guys "take over the station" playing music they love, etc. sounds pretty cool.

so the team right now (confirmed) are: Ilione Karen Imke ... right? so two spots need to be filled. I'll put myself down as an alternate. I'm in the US and it would be very, very difficult for me to get there, should the team win, so I'd rather the spot went to someone who could actually attend the show! Anna? Kimmi? lndnsky? (sorry I don't know your name!) on a side-note, I'm listening to The Lightning Strike. I love it soooo.

A Rush Of Blood To The Head to feature on Royal Mail stamps (CP stamp now available! 7th Jan '10)
would it be greedy of me to ask some lurvely coldplayer to send me a set of new stamps...? I'd pay, of course! :uhoh: yes? too greedy? OK, a cancelled stamp on a letter will do, then, thanks! :D xo btw, thanks to those of you who've offered to do something! :nice:

If Kimmi's not interested, I'll join. She mentioned she's already got tickets to the show, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind meeting the band after! :D It'd be really difficult for me to get there, though I would certainly try! Edit: Wait, what about Johku? Is she under 18, too?

I'd love to join the team, but my knowledge is lacking AND I don't think I'd be able to get myself over there, should we be lucky enough to win. :( Good luck guys! In other SP news, Gary's latest blog for Q Magazine is out here: http://news.qthemusic.com/2009/10/gary_lightbodys_band_of_the_we_15.html enjoy!

yeah, I definitely understand that. But they played Uprising, Unnatural Selection and Undisclosed Desires from the new album... so really, the bulk of their 8 song set was made up of songs from Absolution and Black Holes.

^Yeah, that jumbotron is immense. Apparently, the claw is supposed to be set up in the middle of the field, to allow more of an in-the-round feel, but the screen was too large, so it had to be put to one side. Not sure how true that is, but that's what I heard. Was also reading some reviews of the show that said the seats in the upper-tier (the 400s) had HORRIBLE sound. People talked about leaving 4 songs into the set because the bass reverb and echoes were so bad. We totally lucked out with our friends getting us better seats!

^No! and I was really surprised, too. Someone posted a setlist a while back from one of their first shows with U2- and Knights was on it, so I was kinda expecting it. Like I said, I'm wondering if maybe their set wasn't cut short a bit, forcing them to drop a couple of songs. BUT, I was THRILLED to hear Time is Running Out!

i'm thinking about buying this camera
Nice! Why not? :P I'm sure there are tons of knowledgeable people who can help you out here (I am not one of them), but another source I use a lot when deciding which electronics to buy is cnet http://www.cnet.com/ good luck!

^yeah, it was right around 45 minutes. Though, they came on about mmm... 7:15? Seemed like it was maybe a little delayed, and I've seen setlists that have had 10 songs instead of the 8 we got. (at least, I *think* I did somewhere). so, I don't know, maybe they went on a little late, so had a slightly shorter set. At any rate, it was fantastic. DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Matt's voice live is just :wacky: It would be awesome if they headlined ACL. I remember hearing about them playing in 2007, but that was before I got into them, plus I haven't hit ACL since Coldplay in 2005. :( Have fun tomorrow!!!

^Yeah, the stadium was incredible. Just huge beyond anything and really quite nice. The old Texas Stadium was rather depressing... this is much nicer (well, as nice as a stadium can be). We got to be in a suite in the 300 level, so we got to see the ultra-posh lounge areas where they serve Dom Perignon and Green Chile Kobe Burgers :P The suites were killer. Very, very cool. and it was all just HUGE. Edited to add photo of said ultra-posh lounge/bar: can't wait to hear about your show tomorrow!

^That's awesome! @Angie- Hope you enjoy the show tomorrow! (though really, how could you not?!) From the looks of the seating chart, you've got some great seats!!

^I think you're right. There were sooo many people who didn't know them at all before they performed last night, but after, the people I talked to were really impressed with their set. I hope the album's success here and their touring with U2 bodes well for a headlining tour here soon!

@ Nancy- yes, I absolutely missed Pride (in the Name of Love). Hearing that song would have made the night perfect! and thanks, Rishi! It was incredible! and the 25th? Do you get to see them again??
