Mp3 version = October 24th Pop-up version = sometime after December 12th, depending on what shipping you chose. What the guy says in the email is probably a mistake. This is what usually happens with orders, but since this item is an early pre-order I think he got confused. No matter what MerchDirect says, if Coldplay.com says it isn't released until 12th December, then you won't be getting it before then!!

Yeah, doesn't bother me too much. I usually convert my CD's to 160 or 192. I find the ones I download from iTunes to take up so much space as they are a much higher bit rate. I still prefer having the CD and ripping than buying digital music. It's not like we aren't getting the other formats eventually - it'll tide you over until then.

I think the 'monkeykingsfacts' is the James Blunt site - they just put his name next to it as all the others have the artist's name in the web addy. Hence it's five competitors we are up against, not six! :)

Good point, but I meant that I doubt there will be as many of the pop-up books as there are copies of the vinyl, hence why it should be worth more in the long run... Mine was charged today too! I saw an ad for that show GLEE tonight and they were playing a version of 'Fix You' obviously sung by members of the cast. Does this mean next week will be a Coldplay-centric episode?! I don't watch the show, but does anyone else know anything about this?

I find it hard to believe the pop-up book would go for the same price as the vinyl. It's probably the most collectible element of the whole set. If you wanted to sell it on EBay in the future, it'll probably go for more than $20. But then again, the economy sucks, so it's a gamble...

I still haven't been charged yet which I find weird as I ordered when it first went on sale on the 12th... Oh well, they did say 30 days. :shrug:

Yes. It's the only place you can get it. Well, until it's released and people start selling it on other sites at a jacked-up price...

I think some may have been. I got an email back from customer service that said they charge you when they ship it or within 30 days of the order. Since this is a pre-order, it will be charged sometime within that 30 day window...

I didn't really get that from the post. The complaint seems more directed to there not being enough 'new' material on the album that they haven't already heard. There wasn't any indication that they did or did not like the new songs. However, if what you said is what they meant, then that would makes sense...

WHY does it matter WHEN you hear the new material?!?! I mean, most of the people on here are aching to hear the new material early on and this time around we got to. I don't understand the complaints here!!! :confused:

Happy Charlie Brown is the longest track on the record :thumbsup: Still don't get the complaining about hearing over half the album before it's release. Why does it matter WHEN you hear them??! Plus they are live versions. How is it disappointing?!?! You have all these people saying 'ooh, I want to hear the album NOW!' like 6 months ago, then they hear some songs and now are disappointed they only have a few 'new' songs that they haven't already heard to listen to on release date! :confused: Also, true X&Y was only 12 tracks (well 13 with the hidden track) but the difference was they were ALL full tracks, making the album much longer. I don't see why having 14 tracks is bad if it's still short. VLVODAAHF didn't officially title all the tracks (chinese sleep chant, the escapist, etc) so it wasn't really a 10 track album. This time around, they just decided to officially title all the tracks on the track listing making it 14 tracks...

Yeah, I guess this means they charge your account when they get around to it within the 30 day period. I still haven't gotten a reply to my email, but this basically answers what I asked. Maybe it got lost? :confused:

Yeah it's weird people have been charged. Mine is listed as preordered but no charge to my card. Haven't gotten a response on my email yet either. :rolleyes:
