Songs of the Year 2011
The awesomeness of some of your songs balanced that one out.

New Coldplay eh?
Yeah, I feel like he should stay in the lower register now. He sounds good in it (It's one of the reasons I like "Yes" so much, actually), and it keeps him from trying (and, at times, failing) to hit notes that aren't really practical for him to hit as a bartione. OMG, THE JUMPING. Don't even get me started on that. :bomb: -shakes head in disappointment- I understand completely, Imke. I think there are quite a few of us (myself included) who feel that way.

The 'This is their Best Album' Club
Disclaimer:This post is all based on my personal opinion. If you like it, fine. If you don't, fine, but don't diss me because I said something that you don't want to hear. I wouldn't go quite that far myself, but I agree in the sense that MX is definitely not better than these two albums. You must have a vastly different way of hearing things, because I don't agree with this at all. I think VLV is very cohesive. It's not really that different at all. On MX, you have acoustic tracks smushed in between pure synth soungs, which makes no sense. That amount seems about right. I feel pretty indifferent about the album in general. I don't see how expressing a differing opinion is necessarily rude. OK, Chris' comment about TPing the clubhouse wasn't exactly nice, but other than that, I don't think they were meaning to be rude. They merely meant to say what they thought about it, and for you to say they're being rude simply because of that is rude in itself. They can dislike the album if they want to do so, and I feel like they have the right to express that however and wherever they want. They shouldn't have to worry about replies like this when they post something. I didn't feel it was very diverse at all. As I mentioned, it has a few acoustic songs smushed in between several songs of synth sound. The synth songs sound pretty similar to me. I'm not saying they're the same, but their execution seems to be that way.

New Coldplay eh?
I don't like Chris' voice live. Too pitchy. I couldn't make it through the live version of "Up in Flames" after that botched A-flat about a minute and a half in. GROSS.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
My college's Pep Band added "Uprising" to the books this year. Too bad I couldn't do Pep Band this year. :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry: It was kinda funny, because I had heard them rehearsing it, and as they were putting stuff up, I walked in. Some of my friends were like, "HEY VIOLET, we were just talking about you." They proceeded to tell me how the first thought that came into mind when they saw the song was how pissed I was going to be because I wasn't in Pep Band. As bad as that sounds, it's kinda flattering knowing that I'm the first thing people think of when they think of Muse.

The "things I wish I could say" thread
^ Life is really unfair like that sometimes. I hope your friend can get through whatever it is that's going on.

The "things I wish I could say" thread
I hope not. If I ever catch him posting one of those, I swear... I do know people who do that, though. It's annoying. Theoretically, God knows all, so He knows who His true followers are without having to read a Facebook status about it. I mean really.

The "things I wish I could say" thread
Your incessant Jesus stati on Facebook make me want to punch you in the face. I understand you have a strong belief in God, and I understand you're a ministry major. That's OK. However, whenever you write stati all the time giving credit to Him for something that he didn't do or asking Him for help on something that is really quite fixable on your own, I have a problem with that. Take some responsibility for the stuff going on in your life. Oh my geez. (I hope this doesn't offend the Christian population too much. That isn't my intention. It's just...GOSH. :bomb:)

Songs of the Year 2011
Actually, Briggins tried to start something like this last year, but it never really happened because no one was really doing it. I'm not so sure if I personally will participate. I have a hard enough time making my AOTY list. Like John said, SOTY lists are so much more complicated. :bomb:

Florence + The Machine
If and when we have our WoM awards, I'll most certainly speak on your behalf.

New Coldplay eh?
^ You make a valid point about Chris' voice. I feel like his falsetto definitely isn't what it used to be. I didn't think it could change THAT much, given he's still in his early 30s, but it seems as if I was wrong.

James Blake
I should really listen to that stuff more. Right now, I'm too caught up in ET to really listen to much else from him. I'd feel guilty if I weren't completely in love with it.
