  1. I kinda cheated, but... "Your Protector"-Fleet Foxes
  2. One of my uni friends has a betta named Puccini. He's awesome. :wacky:
  3. Yeah, I'm sure some of that will happen in my neighborhood, too. And if it doesn't, it won't matter much. Any time there's a celebration like this, the Mexicans that live on the streets next to ours shoot their guns off incessantly. Yay. :| :surprised: You wouldn't happen to be from Texas as well, would you? I wanna gooooo. D:
  4. OOOH, Dry the River. I've been meaning to get their stuff. I like it. Oh, and Susanne Sundfør is a Norwegian goddess.
  5. So...much...Wolstenlove... Fank yew, guize.
  6. Oh, goodness no. That's been the argument of the forum ever since ETIAW came out. You're not alone at all. I agree with the bolded part, mostly because I looooove piano music. What are you trying to insinuate with that statement, exactly? I don't agree with that. Even if that were true, who said mainstream anything is all bad? Comparing Coldplay fans to political parties? Really? Wow, how sad for you. Bingo. We have a winner. Exactly. That's very well put. Of course, this goes on an artist-by-artist basis, but I'm of the belief that if something works so well for a band, there shouldn't be a whole lot of changes made to it, and if there are changes made, they shouldn't be too drastic. I've heard bands that have ignored this and have slowly but surely degraded. Take Keane, for example. Their first album was marvelous. Their second album wasn't quite up to the level of the first one, but it was close. Everything after it has plummeted, and while there are gems here and there in their post-LP2 material, Keane are nowhere near where they once were, and it makes me sad. On that same note, you have bands that don't change a lot at all, but are doing just fine. A good example of this is The National. Their music pretty much sounds the same throughout their discography, but it's perfectly OK, because this is what works for them, and I love it. With Coldplay, while I don't think it's as bad as I initially thought (with the release of ETIAW, which is still my least favorite on the ETIAW EP), I think there are some things the boys could've done differently to make their music better. I agree. MTM is so pretty.
  7. Well, due to the dry weather, there's a fire ban on my town, and for that reason, we can't buy fireworks legally this year. If I want to see fireworks for the 4th of July, I have to go downtown to the official display. Joy. :|
  8. IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME. Imke, we are indebted to you. -bows down graciously-
  9. EMILYYYYY. :cheesy: I hope you have tons of fun! Tell us (meaning Tammi and I) how Owl City was when you get back.
  10. Oh, right, we can advertise ourselves, too. Awesome. Yeah, link's in my sig. Add me if you feel so inclined.
  11. That. Why? It's my favorite Coldplay song. Period.
  12. I just sent my request, too. :nice:
  13. I love how, when I come to this thread, if there's anything involving Chris Wolstenholme in someone's post, it's proceeded by something like, "Here, Violet, this is for you." It makes me feel hella special. :wacky:

    SUCCESS. :cheesy:
  15. Happy (belated) birthday, Sufjan! :D
  16. PSH. I wouldn't sacrifice Elbow for either of them. Just for that, your decision makes a lot of sense. I still haven't listened to KC's LP4 because, honestly, I'm scared to. :anxious:
  17. ^ DO IT.

    Rick! Hi!
  19. ^ You know, I may just wait to make sure it's the same question. I usually send my responses pretty late, anyway.
  20. ^ Thanks for the hint. Now I know not to look up "lemon party."
  21. I heard her new song. It's pretty cool. I haven't listened to Bjørk extensively, but I might soon enough.
  22. Actually, this is the same question sent by the exact same person. The question was put forth June 10 and was answered June 17. I saw that, and I don't understand why the same question is being featured when Team Oracle (including me) already answered it. :wtf: I'm debating whether I should answer it again. On a more positive note, thank you, everyone. :D
  23. I don't hate female voices at all. However, I am picky with voices in general. That goes for both female and male voices. If I find I don't like a particular vocalist, chances are, I won't listen to their music. I kinda have to go on an artist-to-artist basis.
  24. ^^ Of course. I still get birthday e-mails from the forum, even though I don't go there. ^ KOALA? :cheesy: -goes to look at avatar selections-
