  1. ^^ ...Wait, what? Tammi, when did this happen!? As far as I know, I've only met one person from my online life. She's a Coldplayer, and she happens to live in the same town as I do. We met up once in the library. It's weird having two people who are shy and reluctant to talk trying to have a conversation. I worry that I might have scared her or something. :\
  2. On a more serious note, I agree with the general consensus that I don't understand the whole double standard where women can compliment each other, but men can't. It's the same thing, and either way it doesn't say anything about your sexual orientation. I also agree with Diana in that sexism goes both ways. There are things that people say about women that aren't necessarily true (e.g. Women should clean the house, take care of the kids, and stay in the kitchen prepared to make sammiches), and the same goes with men (e.g. Hetero men must be as macho as humanly possible). I can't help but think society would at least be a little bit better once we learn to drop some of these societal stereotypes.
  3. With all the talk about the phrase "No homo" on the previous page, I thought this would be somewhat relevant here. [ame=www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cwg9NceFco]www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cwg9NceFco[/ame]
  4. My best friend once suggested to me that I dye my hair blonde. (For those who don't know, I'm a natural brunette.) I was just like, "HahahahaNO."
  5. I don't know. I used to have my hair dyed black, and the color looked pretty damn awesome. The problem was more in the cut. I had someone tell me when I first went to school with it that I looked like one of the Beatles. :| Thinking of it now, there was a bit of a Paul McCartney vibe going on that probably shouldn't have been there...
  6. UGH THIS SETLIST. WHAT IS THIS :bigcry: At least it'll live on, unlike the Glitterati. I still mourn the loss of that guitar... :'( Their 20th anniversary actually isn't that far off, now that I think about it...
  7. ^ Is that some pop culture reference I don't get? :uhoh:
  8. You don't have to apologize. I'm aware of his work with that movie as well because, as I said, my dad watches westerns all the time, and Morricone is pretty well known for his work with spaghetti westerns. It's kinda hard to avoid the music of Morricone when your dad insists on watching stuff like that over and over again.
  9. What are the conditions of this truce, exactly?
  10. I can relate to that. I'm a larger woman in general (I'm 5'8", and despite my weight loss, my frame probably won't allow me to be a particularly small person weight wise), and that includes hands. My ring size is 10 1/2 (don't know how that relates to UK sizing, but trust me, it's not small). I can accommodate you on that. :charming: /kidding. Anyway, for some reason, I have a weird attraction to calves on men. I don't understand how this relates to anything, but it happens. Also, I have a soft spot for lisps. (By that, I mean the soft ones, not the slushy lateral lisps or the ones where people are spitting everywhere.) This would probably have something to do with the fact that I have one. :embarrassed:
  11. Well, I'm mostly familiar with his work because my dad loves Westerns, and Morricone did the soundtrack for such works as the Dollars Trilogy.
  12. I love how you answer these questions from a sexual viewpoint, Greg.
  13. Yes. It'll help me not sound so much like a complete moron when I start recording.
  14. Really? It's nice and sunny out here where I am. I must be caught in a parallel universe or something.
  15. There's no real purpose to a lot of the threads in the Lounge, though...
  16. Patience, people. I have a life outside the forum, y'know. Don't worry. I haven't abandoned the project. I'm almost finished with my preliminary notes, and I'll hopefully be able to record soon.
  17. ...Wait. You're gay? :surprised: (Apologies for my ignorance.) But no, I totally get what you mean about not knowing homosexuality was an option. Being from an extremely conservative household, this was something that wasn't really discussed when I was younger. (Y'know, because it's EVIL. :| ) I remember an incident in the 6th grade where I was sitting with my best friend at lunch, and this guy in my class called us lesbians. I had no idea what that meant. I asked my friend what that meant, and she told me not to worry about it. I figured at that point that he wasn't meaning what he said in the nice way, but I didn't fully understand until I found out the term MUCH later. Honestly, I don't think the concept of being gay really resonated with me until one of my best friends came out to me in my sophomore year of high school. Exactly, yeah.

Same. My best friend and I have so many of those. I think it's the idea of how they came about that makes those sort of things funny, as opposed to the references themselves.
  19. You guys should go ask these questions in the "Would you rather..." thread in the Lounge Games. I'm intrigued to see what those people would say about these questions.
  20. I love how I come across this thread as I'm eating dinner. LOL As a person who is still on a weight-loss journey, I work really hard at regulating what I eat and how much of those things I take in. Before this, I used to be one of those people who would eat whatever whenever, and I especially had a problem with eating whenever I got stressed or bored. I'm not like that now, although I can get disillusioned with food every once in a while and not feel like eating, even though I know I need to eat. This mostly happens when I get stuck eating the same things for a while. On the topic of the speed at which I eat, I tend to eat quite slowly now. It's a great way to help regulate my intake of food. By eating slower, I feel more full with less food. This was something else I had a problem with in the past before I decided I wanted to lose the weight. As far as eating alone or with people, I can do both, but I imagine it's more of a solitary thing for me. On that token, I generally don't sit at a table, either. (Obviously not, as I'm eating dinner as I type this out.)
  21. Well, yeah. I'm not suggesting I actually know any of these people on an intimate level. I'm certainly not speaking for Dee when I say this, but for me, I use this as an escape more than anything. It's hard to explain. Yeah, precisely.
  22. I actually really relate to this.
